{Obligation is greater than emotion}
Brittany had her head in the game. There was no way she could control her team. It was completely gone and she knew it in the back of her mind. Finding her only option was to totally imense her self into the game. She wasn't paying attention to anyone else right now. As far as she was concerned there was only her and the quaffle and this was only practice. It might as well have been, at least for the Slytherins. This was their game. There was nothing she could do to change that except for to keep the quaffle as far away from them as possible to try and lesson the blow. She would have to fix this later.
As she deflected the quaffle away from Sora, she kept on after it. Noticing that Keagan had stopped, she had her focus completely on the quaffle. There was no time to even think. She dove down after the ball as it started it's decent from the air. Quickly swiping it up, she soared off at the fastest speed she could possibly muster in order to get it as far away from that end of the field as possible.

Sora cursed loudly, skidding to a stop as he turned around and shot towards the beautiful girl who stole the quaffle. Keeping his eyes out for the bludgers as well as the beaters, he managed to gain some swpeed in the chase after the quaffle. All outside noise was lost in the roaring winds as Sora continued to speed up, now right behind Brittany.
Another quick burst of speed and they were both neck and neck. Man versus woman. Slytherin versus Gryffindor. Boyfriend versus girlfriend.
Sora twitched the handle to the side, causing him to lightly ram her. It wasn't hard enough to knock her off her bromm but it was hard enough to definitely annoy her.

Not good. It just made her even more angry. Sora would pay for that later. But as of right now, the gryffindor chaser's head was only focused on keeping the quaffle away from the Slytherins. It didn't even matter if she scored or not, just as long as they didn't score. If the oppurtunity presented itself, she would shoot but only when she had a for sure shot. Brittany shot a look of fierce anger and determination towards Sora as he rammed her. With the bump, she didn't even try to maintain her heighth. Instead, she went into a sort-of dive downwards in order to throw him off of her trail and give Keagan a chance to catch up.
Pulling up just ten feet or so before she collided with the soft green grass below, she stayed on that level. Looking up at the rest of the players, she was trying to make sure that Keagan had came out of that possible collision alright. If she hadn't she knew that she had others that she could put in, but they wouldn't be half as good/experienced as the girl was. (No offense.) Brittany also kept an eye out for Sora and the other Slytherin chasers to make sure they weren't coming anywhere near her and the quaffle, which was pressed tightly against her abdomen.

Sora repeated the ramming action once again, though now a bit harder. His hand slipped on his broomstick as he rammed her slightly, causing him to move away slightly, regaining his balance. He cursed, seeing his actions were fruitless as he tried to find a weak spot in her seemingly impenetrable defense. An evil idea formed in Sora's mind as he found a flaw in her defense. A feral grin formed in his face as he moved closer to Brittany.
He was surprised by the sudden change of altitude as she suddenly moved downwards. Quickly twitching his broom downwards, he speeded up slightly as to catch up. He quickly managed to move towards her left side. He took his left hand and aimed, planning to make his idea come to reality. He moved closer to her, now a few inches away from her. His eyes shone slightly as he made his move. His left hand moved of its own accord as he attacked one of the most ticklish spots of her body: the sides of her stomach.

Drew sat back in his seat, thinking that this was going to be some game. Neither side knew the meaning of teamwork so it would be a matter of who played the least sucky would be the winner.
To top it off, the Slytherin seeker was making no sense at all. "Holy Grail of Seekers? What does that even mean?" Last he heard the Holly Grail was the quest of a lifetime. If anything in a game would be paralled to the Grail it would be the snitch, not the seeker.

"Erm....that he's had to many hits to the head?" Arianna suggested, shaking herself back to reality. She scanned the pitch for the seeker and when she finally found him, shook her head. "Are you sure I'll have much trouble playing against him? If he can't get his grails and cups straight...."

Corey's eyes flicked to each chaser from both sides and after looking at both each respective heading, and position on the broom he was able to determine Gryffindor had posession of the quaffle again. What he couldn't tell, was whether the person down at the Slytherin hoops was the actual keeper, or just someone trying to fill an empty net. (Not sure who your Keeper is guys, sorry.)
Exhaling a sigh of relief, Faulkland began again steady but paced lines infront oft he hoops at varying degrees of altitude before finding a decent green line of preference again. He could see Howard going bonkers on his brrom and the seemingly unavoidable collision between Gerislyn and Callister, but again was confined to the hoops. Ruddy lousy position it was, but a vital one.
"Conners go help Brittany before she gets mobbed!" Corey called out, it was all he could really do, well, that and occasionally give rude but amusing gestures tot he Slytherin team when he felt most of the crowd (and the ref) weren't looking. But chances are the ref saw them. It wasn't like gestures really instigated much except for a bludger.
It was kinda hard to have a physical fight on brooms after all.

Chase nodded to Corey as she heard him call out,, What do I do? Where's Brittany? Her eyes scanned the feild, and finally set on the Gryffindor Quidditch Captain. She wasn't really paying attention to the game for the last few minutes, so she didn't realize that she was getting rampaged by a Slytherin player until now. Chase clutched the handles of her broom and shot forward. She had a feeling she wasn't going to be of much help although would try anyway.
"Eh, Sora!" she called out for several feet behind him, wondering whether it was against the rules to throw things at other players, she had in her pocket three sickles and a chocolate frog *random*. What the heck was the Slytherin doing? ... tickling her... ?

"NOT FAIR!" Brittany shouted, trying desperately not to laugh as Sora tickled her.
What a cheater. That had to be cheating. He couldn't use that against her. What a jerk. In attempt to just get away from his outstretched hands, she rose up and down as quickly as she could on her broom. She was trying to shake him off as much as she could. Hearing a small voice call out Sora's name from behind her, she realized that the only small voice on the team would be the other chaser, Chase. What irony. The girl had better be ready for a chase, because that was what she was surely about to get. Praying to God that she was doing the right thing, Brittany pulled to almost a complete stop.
Swinging to the right side, just in time to avoid colliding with Chase's broomstick, she tossed the quaffle to the young girl. "FLY! I'm right behind you!" Brittany instructed the girl and pointed upwards. She was indicating for the girl to go back to the goal post level, back to the mayhem, in order to get away from Sora. At the moment, he was the only one she was really concerned about. The rest seemed to be on the downlow, which was both good and bad rolled into one.

Chase stopped her broom as fast as she could, seeing that Brittany had stopped hers so suddenly. She was utterly confused at the moment-- what was happening? This was not good-- she should have done more studying on Quidditch instead of slacking off and trying to find out new ways to make her hair look like Beni's( Chase loved Beni's hair).
"Ehh?" she screamed as the Quaffle was dropped into her hands. She looked up to the Quidditch captain with a horrified and confused look upon her face, although she nodded when the obvious instructions were yelled out. Chase turned her broom around quickly and sped off, with the quaffle in her right arm.
"EEEEK!" she screamed at the thought of the scary Slytherin advancing on her. He looked so scary sometimes!

Brittany could have smacked Chase a good one right across her face as she squealed. What the hell? You don't squeal when someone hands you the quaffle. Especially since she had even instructed her on what she was supposed to do. Not allowing any down time, since she knew that the girl had just drawn all of the attention back on to her, she took off after her. The original plan had been to hand it off to Chase quickly and quietly and lead Sora farther away, faking like she still had the quaffle. Of course, since the girl had screamed that was now impossible to do.
So she figured she would just have to protect the girl the best way possible. As she sped after her, she tried to develop a new plan for them to carry out. Coming up on the right side of Chase, she told her, "Tuck it in your stomach and toss it to me when I tell you!"
She clearly stated what she wanted the girl to do. She couldn't blame the girl for not being the best, after all she was only a first year. Which was to Gryffindor's disadvantage. (No offense) The older girl signaled for them to turn around a curve as they approached the proper altitude. She wanted to get as close to the Gryffindor goals as possible. To keep it away from Slytherin's goal posts and also keeping the slimest hopes of scoring in mind.

Post by Keagan Gerislynn on Aug 22, 2006 12:39:17 GMT -5
Keagan was completely oblivious to Brittany's actions after gaining control of the quaffle as her focus was on the Slytherin Chaser who was foolish enough to think he could maneuver out of the inevitable crash. Keag watched with wide eyes as time seemed to slow and she saw The handle of Ty's broom catch on the side of her own, as she was facing him sideways. She had never been so scared in her life as their brooms tangled and the power of his dive flipped hers upside down. Her knuckles were white with the strain of holding on as such, and she had no idea how they would get out of this mess. However, she refused to call attention to it at the moment, lest it interrupt whatever play Brittany was working at the other end of the pitch. She would if she must, but for the moment she was still safely in the air.

Crunch. That's all that Ty heard when the two brooms connected with each other. He slide forward on his broom and almost fell off, but somehow managed to hang on. He watched in stunned horror as the momentum of his dive had caused the Gryffindor chaser flip over on her broom and hanging up side down. He just hoped that she could hold on long enough to righten herself or for someone to come in and help out.
He had a stabbing pain in his right arm as it had twisted in a rather hard angle when he had forced himself to hold on to the broom with everything that he had. Managing to release himself from the tangled mess he made his way back over to the Gryffindor, holding his arm still against his body, to see if he could do anything to help, not to mention if she needed someone to grab on to encase she fell. "You alright?" he asked when he got less than a foot away from her. He wanted to make sure that she was ok. He just had a sprained wrist and would play through it.
