He hesitated in asking her, worried it would sound like a tease when he was serious, concerned it would sound lecherous when he had nothing but honorable intentions. He wasn't even sure if he had the right to ask it, considering they had agreed to take it slow.
"Well... I was kind of thinking that... since I can put my arms around you anytime I wanted..." Okay, this was sounding bad, even to him, but now that he had started, he had to finish. "If I can put my arms around you anytime I want, can I kiss you anytime I want too?" he asked hopefully, raising an eyebrow at her.

What she wanted to say was 'yes. Kiss me whenever you want'. However, she couldn't. Not when she still was so unsure about a few things. While she really didn't think he would do that, the whole beneficial friend thing, she didn't really like how it sounded if she were to say yes, either.
"Drew..." she began, lowering her eyes for a moment and making a decision. Pulling back from him, she sat straight up and faced him, making eye contact. "Are we still just friends?"
If he could answer that question, she'd answer his.

He looked back at her blankly, a little surprised at the question. It was one she definitely deserved an answer to, the problem was he wasn't exactly sure how to answer it. No, he dind't think they were just friends, but he wasn't sure exactly what they were.
"I... I don't think so..." he started before wondering if even that was pushing too fast. "I mean... what do you think?" That didn't work either considering she had asked the question. Of course she didn't think they were just friends. Or maybe she did but worried he thought more?
He was overthinking things again and he took a deep breath to calm down a bit. "I'm not kissing on any other girls if that's what you're asking. Just you. You're the only one for me. I don't want to be just friends anymore... if that's okay with you." He looked at her hopefully, wondering if he had said it right, praying she understood what he meant.

"I don't know," she mumbled in response when he asked what she thought. That was why she had asked, because she didn't know and wanted to know what he thought. His hesitation was all right with her, she figured he was trying to figure out how to word his response; and his first answer made her smile a little, until he asked what she thought.
Well, that was good; that he wasn't kissing any other girls, that she was the only one he'd kissed. It'd put them in an awkward situation if he was kissing other girls, wouldn't it? And really Felicity didn't want to think about that, especially the part of him kissing someone else. Feeling the tug at the corners of her mouth, she sighed, relieved at what he'd continued with.
She was the only one for him? That thought alone made the girl blush profusely and she bowed her head a little to hide it, as well as to thank Merlin he was getting at what she thought he was. Finding his hand, she slid hers into it and laced their fingers. "I don't want to be just friends anymore, either," she replied clearly, lifting her eyes back up to his. "And it's more than okay with me if you don't want to be."
Once more, closing the gap between them, she slid closer to him and wrapped her other arm around him as she pulled her legs up and tucked them underneath her. Propping herself up, she leaned closer to his ear with a big grin. "Yes," she spoke softly. "You can kiss me whenever you'd like to."
Pulling away from his ear, she maneuvered her face closer to his and gently bumped her nose against his own, hoping that'd been an indirect attempt at getting to what she thought he was. "As long as the same goes for me."

Drew's face broke out in a wide grin, a response to the tingles she gave him when she whispered in his ear. "Heck yeah!" he answered happily, grabbing her around the waist and pulling her down on top of him as he fell back onto the sofa. He kissed her once, twice, three times before leaning back and just admiring her and he let his fingers find her curls again.
So they weren't just friends anymore... but what did that mean? He wondered if she had noticed he had neglected to ask her to be his girlfriend... and why had he avoided that question? He didn't want to date anyone else... and he sure as heck didn't want her dating any other guys. If he wasn't just a friend and she wasn't just a friend, then what were they? Didn't the fact that he only wanted to kiss her and he didn't want her seeing anyone else and they both had open permission to put arms around one another define her as his girlfriend? Was he overthinking it all again? Probably.

His response was boisterous enough, leaving no room for thought on her part at what he'd agreed to. Felicity found herself being dragged down on top of the boy ending with a nice reaction, or three, all of which had her stomach acting up furiously. Laughing a little from the tickling of his mustache, the smile was already on her lips by the time he'd pulled away and had his hands back in her hair. Whatever he found so likeable about the curls was a mystery to her, but if he liked them she wasn't going to tell him to stop, especially since she was going back to her normal, straight hair the next day.
Yes, she had noticed he hadn't made mention of finalizing the matter of what they were, but what he'd told her, and she him, was enough for her at that moment. He'd told her she was the only one for him, that had to have meant something, right? And she knew he was the only one that made her stomach feel so off and made her heart change paces so rapidly, so that meant something, too, right? While it didn't really tell her what they were, other than more than just friends, she was pleased and didn't want anything that had possibilities of leading to another misunderstanding ruining anything at that moment.
Looking down at him, she couldn't help the smile that grew. His blue eyes made it hard for her to tear her gaze away, not that she wanted to anyway, but it was enthralling. Touching the end of her nose to his, she smiled. It all seemed like a bit of deja vu at that moment and she tried hard to remember what it was she'd said to him after he'd caught her. She knew it was something about experimenting and how it'd turned out, but she couldn't remember what it'd been she said. Opting to forget again, the blonde leaned in closer and gently pressed her lips against his before pulling away and leaning back to his ear.
Grinning, she whispered into his ear. "So, happy November." Slowly, she pulled away, kissing his cheek, before softly kissing him again. She was taught to treat each first of the month as a holiday, a way of bringing good luck for the rest of the month. And so far, November was going well enough, or so she thought as she pulled away and smiled again as she lightly dragged the tips of her fingers along his cheek.

He always felt a little giddy when she touched his nose like that, almost like eating too many Fizzing Whizbees and topping it off with a couple of peppermint toads. And drawing her finger down his face like that definitely make his toes curl. A rather pleasant sensation in his opinion.
"Very happy November," he answered back, thinking October had been pretty decent, but this month was only going to be better. "Hey! It's my birthday in a few weeks!" he said suddenly, the thought just hitting him. It was a big one for him and he did a little happy dance where he was, not so easy to do considering the position he was in.

As he made his proclamation about his birthday, Felicity could feel her mind reel. A few weeks? That was all right, she could do that, she could figure something out in a few weeks. Anything that actually cost something was well out of the picture, but she could figure something out. Maybe dinner? She could definitely do something of the sort like that, but not much more.
Pushing back the thoughts of what she could do, she felt him moving under her. Her brown eyes went a bit wide as she looked down at him, trying to figure out exactly what it was he was doing. And then it hit her, it was his little dance he did when he was happy. Grinning, she became a bit more aware of where she was, and while it wasn't as though she hadn't been that close to him before, she'd never actually been on him. The blonde knew she wasn't crushing him, but the realization made her blush a little, and she leaned off of him, wedging herself between the back of the sofa and him.
"Drew..." she started, letting her arm wrap around him as she snuggled in closer to him. "When we have a real good snowfall, will you go sledding with me?" He voice was hopeful, as she looked at him.

"Yeah!" Drew answered excitedly thinking that now he had two dates with her. He was much more partial to the ocean, but he could still appreciate a good snowfall. How else could you snowboard, sled, or have a really good snowball fight, right? (Most people just didn't go for mudball fights...)
"I have a REALLY good sled too," he told her with a wide grin, turning a bit so he could face her better. His sled was actually the shield of one of the suits of armor from the second floor, but dang if it didn't zip down hills well.

"All right," she laughed at him. Obviously he had some sort of amazing sled, perhaps it was magically enhanced? Could be. "So sledding at the first good snowfall. Early morning too, if we can," she added. Early morning snow was much better than any other day time snow, it wasn't trampled on, and it looked so pretty sitting amongst everything.
"And what about building a snowman?" she asked teasingly. Felicity loved the snow, and she'd do everything there was to do in it if she could. This included, but was not limited to, snow angels, forts, snowball fights, snowmen, etc.

"Okay," Drew agreed with a small laugh, finding it cute how into the snow she was. Yeah, he liked it, but he probably wouldn't miss it if it didn't snow. He did have to agree with going in the early morning though. The snow always seemed fresher first thing in the morning.
"So are we going to do snow angels too?" he asked, raising an eyebrow as he raised a hand to tuck a loose curl behind her ear.

Biting down on her bottom lip, she nodded at him with the biggest grin. "We have to make snow angels, otherwise the snowman wouldn't have a guardian, right?" Everyone needed a guardian angel, even a snowman. "And if it's snowing a bit, we need to catch the snowflakes on our tongues. Also, we can't forget to sculpt the snowman a home either," she added loving the thoughts she was having about the snow. Of course, the home could come in handy to be used as a fort if needed.
"And we should go iceskating sometime, too." Of course, with that thought, she wondered if he liked pick-up hockey.

He was enjoying her rattling off of plans but balked a little at the mention of ice skating. He was find on rollerblades, but for some reason unknown to him or anyone else, he just couldn't ice skate to save his life. And yes, the one time in his life that it had been pretty close to a life and death situation, he had chucked the skates and just slid across the ice in his sneakers.
"Ice skating, huh?" he said, neither agreeing to or negating the idea. He'd do it of course, but he knew he'd be spending most of his time on his butt.

"Yes," she replied quickly, nodding her head at him. "Ice skating is so much fun, we should do it. But of course, it'll have to be done a different day because the ice won't have frozen safely enough by then." Felicity wasn't a grande skater, but she could stand, move forward, stop, and even go backwards. And half the fun of ice skating was spending time on your bum.
"And we still have that polar bear," she smiled slightly at him. She'd agreed to one. January. Drew, Felicity, polar bear. It wasn't going to be forgotten.

Drew laughed again. "You still want to polar bear, huh?" he asked carefully, not quite sure she knew what she was getting into. But if she was willing to do a polar bear with him, he figured he could manage a day on ice skates.
Friday, snow day, ice skating, polar bear. He was already up to four dates with her. Not bad for a guy who flaked on the Halloween dance.
