Fighting against herself, fighting against slipping her arms around his neck, fighting against finding that one spot on his neck that always smelled the nicest, she fought against everything she wanted. If she wanted to take a break from him she had to fight against things. They were just friends, or were on their way to being friends again, good friends. Felicity understood why he liked to hug people, his hugs were absolutely wonderful, just like cuddling up to a teddy bear, as she'd told him before; it was a hug reassuring that everything would be just fine. But this wasn't just a hug, he was holding her, again. That wasn't supposed to happen. But he wasn't dating anyone anymore, so what he did was his own choice, and what she did was hers.
When she had the time...Would she ever? Time was such an interesting subject, one that really made her curious. Was there enough time in the day? Month? Year? Was there enough for her to be able to explain things to him? Enough for him to understand why she did what she did? All she could do was hope so. And hope was all she had.
"When you want me to," she answered. He hadn't asked a question, but she wanted him to realize he had the choice to make.

"When you have the time," he repeated, as a grin crossed his face, not minding the circular conversation so much this time. He had done his part by writing the article. Her time as editor was pretty booked and he wasn't about to demand anything she couldn't give. It was all her decision, not his. He wasn't about to be presumptuous and tell her when she needed to read his work.
"And if you tell me when I want you to, I'm going to demand you read it over at precisely 3:17 tomorrow afternoon and furthermore, I'd like you to do it by the lake," he continued with a tease, hoping she'd realize it was her job as editor. If not, maybe he'd get a date for tomorrow out of it.
No, not a date. They weren't together. A meeting...

Trying to hide the bit of laughter, she put more weight against Drew, tilting her chin downwards so her forehead was more against him and she wouldn't hit her lip or the ice covered gauze against his shirt. He was joking again, which she liked, a lot. A small shudder of laughter rippled through her body for a moment, before she pulled away from him, just enough to be able to gaze up at him with her eyes again.
"Tomorrow at 3:17?" she repeated. Tomorrow just wouldn't work. "I think I have a prior engagement with van Aller," she told him. Something having to do with the paper, some questions or something. Felicity wasn't very sure. If not, then she was making it up in her mind, but she didn't think she was. "If you make it 4:17, I think I could do it out by the lake. There should be enough light to read it over by. And if not, I've managed to work on the lumos spell without setting something on fire." Actually, she'd been able to do that a long time before.

"So don't be telling me you'll do it when I want," Drew told her with a smug smirk. "Because I said I wanted it done at exactly 3:17 tomorrow. You're just lucky I'm a nice guy and willing to be flexible."
Was she really agreeing to meet him the next day? No, not a date, he knew it wasn't a date. He knew there was no hope of ever getting a date again, but this was good. It would just be two friends hanging out by the lake... working by the lake. He had almost forgotten that the whole pretense was to read his article.

"I never said I'd be doing it when you wanted," she countered lightly, hoping he'd understand this time she was joking with him. Of course, she really hadn't said she'd do it when he wanted her to. The meeting with van Aller had to take place first, after all, not only was the woman a professor, but she was one of Felicity's, as well as the advisor for the paper. Missing a meeting with her could be more than disasterous.
Deciding it was time to pull away before she did something really stupid, Felicity put her uninjured hand to his chest and pushed away a little. It wasn't forceful, nor was it a demand that she wanted to get away. It just gave her a little leverage to not lean on him so much and to pull from his arms before she kissed him. Actually, kissing him didn't sound like a bad idea, but she knew she couldn't. She hadn't had enough time to think everything through yet, she was only at the surface of everything.
"So tomorrow, 4:17pm, by the lake, and you with article in hand," she said with a small smirk, feeling it was even pulling at her tear a little too much. "Does that work for you Mr. Flexibility?" She couldn't help but give him that title. He wasn't her teddy bear anymore, or at least she couldn't say he was outloud anymore.

She had specifically said When you want me to to his request of when she had time, but he wasn't going to quibble over something so trivial, even if she was just teasing. He did raise an eyebrow at her though, letting her know he didn't exactly agree with her argument.
She finally pulled away, something he knew she would eventually do, but that he was hoping she would have waited a bit longer. His hands, now feeling rather empty, shoved themselves into his pockets before they did something stupid like try to grab at her again.
"I told you, I'm flexible," he answered with a smile, telling himself again that it wasn't a date. It was just a work meeting... by the lake... near sunset...

Thankfully Drew wasn't going to penalize her for her writer's mistake, otherwise there would've been some very off-the-wall argument ending with her feeling very ridiculous, again. And she was rather enjoying everything right now, things felt at ease, whether it was a forced one or not, she felt a lot more relaxed than she had only moments before.
Now that his arms were no longer around her, she felt a cool air take place of where he'd been holding her. The warm spots were melting away, but it wasn't like she could request to let her get close to him again. After all, it wasn't really proper. They were having a break, and they hadn't discussed any boundaries. Probably, it was best not to have, at least that way neither would feel attached to the other if one did find someone else within the time of their break, if their break ever ended. Yes, she was over-thinking things, again.
"Yes, you did," she nodded in agreement. Taking the ice from her lip, she craddled her arm a little, and tried to hide it from Drew by turning a bit. The pain was starting to hurt again, maybe having something like his scent to concentrate on had helped her to surpress the pain.

Drew noticed her cradling her arm and would have suggested going to the hospital wing except for the fact that he trusted the nurses about as far as a flobberworm race. "I have an Ace bandage in my kit upstairs," he offered, knowing she needed something better than what she had. It seemed like every time she moved, it ws still hurting her. "It'll keep it better stablaized than that gauze. I could probably rig a sling too. That would help."

Turning sharpley to look at him, she felt almost bad for trying to hide it. Almost. But she didn't want him to worry about her, it probably wasn't anything bad, just a little sprain that would be fine in the morning. Then again, a sprain hadn't hurt as badly as this one did before.
However, she already had an ace bandage around her arm, the gauze was for her lip, she she was a little confused about his statement, other than she understood he was offering it up as a makeshift sling. But wouldn't going to the nurse be better than walking around with a sling? And they were new -er. Maybe they weren't so bad, other than that guy creeped her out a little bit.
"You don't think I should just go to the nurse?" she asked him outright. Yes, she knew how he felt about the nurse(s) before, but did he know anything about the new ones that she didn't?

Whatever bandage she had on her hand, she obviously needed a better one. That's all Drew had been offering.
And a sling. He thought that maybe it would help keep it steadier than she was able to do on her own.
The suggestion of the nurse bothered him and while Felicity knew he avoided them, he wasn't sure how deep his fear of them went. No, he didn't know these particular ones, but he had met very few competent nurses at Hogwarts. It was better to assume the worst and then let them try to disprove his prejudices. Fewer people got mistreated that way.
"If... if that's what you want to do," Drew answered, trying to pretend it didn't matter to him one way or the other. He was seventeen years old. Too old to be scared of the Hospital Wing, right?

Was that what she wanted to do? No. However, if her mum heard she hurt herself and didn't go to the nurse, then she'd never stop hearing about it, especially if it was something that she should've gone to the nurse for. Then again, because of Drew's own mistrust of the nurse(s) at Hogwarts, she wasn't very keen on stopping in for a visit either, but her arm really did hurt a bit. Maybe she should just get close to Drew again and refocus on how good he smelled? No, that was a bad answer because she'd get too far in doing that.
Shaking her head slowly at him, she wondered really if there was anything else she could do. At least for the pain. Felicity didn't have any pain relievers or anything of the sort in her dorm, she just relied on good old pain tolerance, but the shooting pain was a bit much for her.
"No, I don't want to," she finally said. What else was there though? Arianna. She was good at this stuff according to Drew...

He would have sucked it up and taken her if that's what she wanted. In fact, she took so long in answering, and looked like she really wasn't sure of the decision, that he contemplated taking her anyway.
He was tempted to offer a kiss-it-better, but he didn't think that would go over well. Besides, that never worked for actual injuries.
No, the hospital wing was really the only solution for real injuries. Drew was pretty sure this one would just heal on its own, but still, it wouldn't hurt if it was looked at by a qualified healer. If only his aunt were around. Or even his uncle for that matter.
"It doesn't look like it's broken or anything. Just sprained," he told her, hoping she'd take his word for it. He'd had enough injuries to be able to recognize something major, but she still might need more assurance. "But, I'll take you to the nurse if you change your mind."

Was Arianna doing any better? She'd heard the girl was back, but beyond that she knew nothing. Would she be an all right solution to her arm? Maybe not. What if she wasn't doing better? Well, enough to be able to help out her arm? Or what if she was perfectly fine?
The look on Drew's face somewhat worried her, she wasn't sure what it was about. It looked worried, yet at the same time determined. Worried she understood, the determination, not so much. However, there had to be a reason for it, otherwise he wouldn't look like that.
"Do you think I should go?" she asked him. Usually Felicity just picked herself up and went on her way when she hurt herself, but then again, this tumble had been really bad. There wasn't even anything to be thankful about. Actually, that wasn't true. At least that Slytherin wasn't around to make a comment on her bum, and she still wasn't sure if it was a good thing or not. Really, she wasn't entirely sure she wanted to know. With no one around to witness her falling, there was no one around to comment. "Or what about Arianna?"

"I think you're going to be okay, but I'm not a healer," he told her. Claiming he was would be like saying he was a goblin just because he had been in Gringotts more than once. "I don't think you need to go, but it's not my wrist." He couldn't make the decision on this one. It had to be her call.
He wasn't too sure about her other option. Drew trusted Ari with healing, but he wasn't sure if Ari would be up to it. The seventh year was only just now getting people's names straight. Would she be able to manage a healing?
"We could try Arianna," he concluded. "But tracking her down... it might be easier to go see the nurse if you really want a second opinion."

Nodding, she didn't really want to go. No, she didn't mind going for something simple like a pepper-up potion, one could hardly mess that up, but she wasn't fond of going because of her wrist, other than she could get some kind of potion for it. But he didn't sound too fond of getting Arianna to look at it either. Maybe she wasn't doing better, or very much better since she'd come back.
Pulling her bottom lip in to suck on it instead of biting it, the Gryffindor immediately regretted her decision. It tasted absolutely horrid. Making a face, she scrinkled her nose a bit and did her best to get the taste out of her mouth. Definitely would have to leave her lip alone.
"Or would it just be easier for you to get your bandage?" she asked. "I don't really want to go to the nurse, and if you don't think we could find Arianna, would you mind lending me a bandage?" True, she'd probably have to answer a bunch of questions she could just easily get by if she went to the nurse, but she wasn't fond of the idea truthfully, even if they were new and Drew didn't even know them. Then again, maybe if she was lucky, she'd run into the Ravengirl, or Drew would find her somewhere.
