It had been a hectic week... a hectic month... Heck, it had been a hectic year. Focus. That's what he needed. Focus and drive. With quidditch gone, he was still training on his own, knowing (or more like hoping) that they'd start that up again. His classes were going well, but there was always room for improvement there, especially if he wanted to get into the Academy at the end of the following year. And with the paper, he had taken on some extra duties now that they seemed so short-staffed. The only reason he had joined the paper in the first place was to be near Felicity, but as he got into it, he found out that he actually liked it. No, it wasn't as cool as quidditch, and definitely not as great as surfing, but he thought it was a good use of his time. Plus, there was always a chance that he could hang out with the editor a little. He was hunched over his latest article, double checking his spelling with a self-correcting quill before he had to turn it in. He was usually a bit of a slob this late in the day, but on this occasion, he had actually showered before coming down to the office, changing into some jeans and a blue sweater that, he had been told, brought out the color in his eyes. So maybe Felicity wouldn't be in that day. But it was always a good idea to be ready. {open and not necessarily for Felicity }

Hair falling out of its ponytail, shirt sleeves rolled up, skirt twisted, one shoe untied, collar flipped up from the removal of the tie that now hung around her neck and down her shoulders, a small bit of blood dribbling down her chin from her lip, wrist aching pretty badly, and her messenger bag's strap broken, Felicity made her way to the office where she knew her first aid kit was. This wasn't the first time it'd happened, but it hadn't ended nicely this time either. Actually, it had ended quite painfully to be frank. Pushing the door open with her uninjured hand, the blonde stumbled through the door not seeing anyone else in the room. Normally people didn't last very long if they could help it, just wanting to get on their way in other things, especially with many people cracking down on studying. However, this was Felicity's sanctuary outside of the lion's den and the den was too crowded. "Ow..." she drew out, feeling the slight pressure on her wrist when she grabbed up the torn strap with her injured hand. This time had just really, really hurt. Now where was that first aid kit? She was pretty sure she had a bandage in it that would do nicely on her wrist. ((couldn't help myself ))

Drew was startled when the door opened, partially at the appearance of the very person he had been thinking of, but mostly in response to the state of disrepair that she was in.
"Woah! What happened to you?" he asked, jumping out of his seat and rushing to her side. He relieved her of the broken bookbag and pulled a chair over so she could sit. Her bloody lip bothered him the most and he was tempted to reach over and wipe it off whit his shirt sleeve, but he wasn't sure she'd appreciate that. Instead he slid over to the desk, pretty sure that she had kept a first aid kit in there. "Are you okay?" he asked, hoping he was remembering correctly from when he had sliced his hand on the window.

"I uh..." she started, startled herself. Really, she thought the office would be empty, something she'd been hoping for. It would be bad enough to explain what was sure to be a swollen lip and long-term aching wrist, but to have someone see it in the process? No, she'd been hoping for the empty room.
Next thing she knew, her bag was out of her hand and she was sitting in the offered chair. Normally she would've laughed it off, but the aching wrist hurt a little too much to just laugh it off at the moment.
Her eyes followed Drew as he headed to her desk, trying to think of where she'd last left the kit. Hopefully Drew would find it, sooner or later. "I uh...I fell through one of those stairs that go missing," she answered. Of course, she hadn't fallen all the way through, but that was how it started. "And then, pulling myself out of it, I kind of tripped myself up and tumbled down the stairs."
Attempting a smile, she more grimaced. "I think I bit my lip really hard though, and I landed on my wrist funnily."

Drew opened and shut drawers, rifled a bit through the file cabinet, and chekced a nearby cupboard before finally locating the first aid kit. He trotted back over to where Felicity sat and knelt in front of her, offering her a small smile as he opened the kit. He had dealt with enough of his own injuries to be pretty good at knowing what to do.
"Gotta watch out for those things," he teased softly in sympathy, knowing it wasn't always possible. He dug through the kit and found a piece of gauze to wipe her mouth off as well as a bandage for her wrist. "You got an ice pack in here?" he asked, figuring he might be able to spell one up if she didn't.

Actually, it was a little embarrassing. Normally she was the one administering some sort of help, not the one receiving it. However, normally she was also fine after any of her little accidents, this time hadn't gone so well. Last time she'd been stuck in a disappearing stair, one of her den mates had helped her out, but there surprisingly hadn't been anyone. Not even someone to poke fun at her.
"Heh," she answered Drew in an attempt at a laugh. Like she didn't know that...now. Wincing slightly when he touched her lip, she shook her head quickly in answer to his question. Ice pack was a negative.
"No, and if there is one in there I don't know how it got to be in there," she told him, grabbing the gauze and applying a bit of pressure to her bottom lip. No, this really had not been planned on.

"Remind me to give you one of mine," Drew anwered with another smile as she took the gauze from him. His mom, with the help of his aunt, had packed him a pretty complete kit and he had asked for a second one to keep in his Quidditch locker. Perhaps he should ask for a third. In the mean time he pulled his wand from his back pocket and conjured an ice pack, placing it gently on her wrist. He was still working on his conjurs, so it wasn't as cold as it could have been, but he hoped it still worked pretty well.
"So, how'd you manage to trip getting out of the stair?" he asked, knowing that most kids just pulled out of it. On the other hand, it was probably pretty easy to lose your balanace, especially loaded down with books and things.

Nodding slightly, she tried to keep her focus on something other than the bit of pain that was working its magic through her body, had been working through it, and would probably continued to do so. The little kit she had was for the most basic and primitive of needed aid, normally she didn't bother with doing anything when she was a little injured, other than a bit of cleaning solution and a bandage if it needed one badly enough.
"My foot got caught on the stair below it," she answered him. Second time, different stair. She couldn't get a good enough grip on anything to pull herself up the stairs, so had settled on turning herself around and going back down the stairs, and pulling herself up, the toe of her shoe stubbed into the stair and made her trip, resulting in a tumbling fifth year, again.
His gentle touch on her wrist didn't hurt, but the ice stung just a little. Really, it was backwards, especially with him, she was usually the one administering. "I stopped at the landing, but I didn't stop very well." How her bag had managed to get the way it was she didn't know, but the strap broke about halfway through her fall and she'd had to trudge up the stairs to get it before continuing on her way.

"Ouch... sounds like you got off lucky then," Drew told her, imagining what had happened as she told it." I mean, it sounds like you could have broken something, at very least an ankle, caught like that." If that had been the case, she would have had to go to the Hospital Wing for sure. He didn't quite trust himself with bone-healing yet.
"I can fix your bag though," he offered, repositioning the ice to get the most out of what coldness it had.

Keeping the lightest of pressures on her lip, she smiled hesitantly and briefly at Drew. Maybe she did get off a little lucky, she was pretty sure her wrist wasn't broken, then again she didn't know what a broken bone really felt like, but she was pretty sure it was either just sprained or she really had just landed wrong. Most likely the latter of the two. And the Hospital Wing was not where she wanted to be located at. Felicity had seen the new guy in the Great Hall, truthfully, he freaked her out a little bit. Kind of scary looking.
"I'd appreciate it," she told him, taking in a sharp breath when the ice hit her skin again. While she liked the cold and the snow, she didn't think she liked direct contact when she hadn't been pursuing it. "If you really don't mind, that is."
The lioness was pretty sure she could do it herself, but she didn't really feel like it. Especially when her injured wrist was her right one, the one she used to cast spells, and write.

Drew winced and sucked on his teeth as she did the same. "Sorry," he murmured worriedly, thinking that maybe he had hurt her. He hadn't put the ice pack in anything before using it, since it hadn't felt very cold, but maybe that hadn't been the best idea. He pulled the ice off and grabbed the bandage, wondering if she trusted him enough to do it or if she wanted to do it herself.
"It's no problem," he told her honestly, knowing it would only take a simple repair charm to fix her bag. He held the bandage up to her, wondering if she'd prefer to do the honors herself. She tended to be independant, and while he loved that about her, it often carried over into some inconvenient times. "You want me to wrap your wrist up for you?"

"It's all right," she told him, wrinkling her nose slightly. It wasn't like he purposefully did anything to her, he was helping, and the coldness was supposed to be helping, it just felt cold on her skin. And while she knew he wasn't trying to making cringe, she was relieved when he took the ice pack off and grabbed the bandage instead. The bandage would probably help a bit more, and then they could put the pack over the bandage.
Pulling the gauze from her lip, she noticed the spotted blood attached to it, showing her lip wasn't done yet. While she thought she could very well wrap her wrist on her own, she wasn't fond of the taste of blood, and therefore opted to nod her head, making the blonde locks bounce.
"Yes, please," she told him, replacing the gauze to her mouth.

A warm feeling spread through his middle, though he wasn't exactly sure why. It wasn't like wrapping her wrist up was a happy time, yet he couldn't help but feel a bit of pleasure at being allowed to do it for her. He was careful, holding her hand gently as he unwrapped the bandage, feeling odd at the idea that he was actually cherishing this moment.
"I finished my article," he told her, not knowing what else to say and feeling odd just bandaging her hand in silence.

A small surge of pain continuously flowed through her arm, keeping a steady pace, and not changing. Even when he lightly held her hand the pain didn't change, didn't get worse or less. It was just there which was slightly bothersome. Though, she was sure with the ice pack back on it after he was done, it wouldn't feel quite so hurtful. And she had to remind herself she did it on her own. If she had been paying attention, she wouldn't have gotten stuck in the stairs, again.
"You did?" she asked slightly surprised. Normally most of the articles came in right on time, so she found it highly surprising that he was telling her his was done, and a little early at that. "That's great."
Her smile was hidden beneath the gauze, and the wince she produced at her attempt to smile. Of course, the taste of the metallic blood only grew stronger in her mouth, but she figured it was worth the attempt to at least smile.

"I don't know how good it is," he admitted, finishing off the wrapping and finding a roll of tape to secure it. He wasn't the best of writers, getting by mostly with an excellent ability to BS when it came to his school essays.
With her wrist wrapped tightly, he replaced the ice, hoping it wouldn't cause her any more discomfort. "Does that feel okay?" he asked, hoping he didn't just put her in more pain.
