{this class is exclusively for students who have already taken Beginning Arithmancy. If you are supposed to be in the Beginning class, please PM me}The school year was winding down and as the days got warmer, Becca found herself opening more and more of the windows in her classroom. She had often considered just holding her Arithmancy classes out on the grounds in the old Caretaker's hut, but in the end decided against it. There was just no room for the charts and books with all of her animals around. The Intermediate class had been working of various systems and the Professor was planning to continue on this vein. She sat at her desk, feet propped up and nose in book, but behind her on the board were two charts that she hoped would be familiar to her students. She expected the incoming students to know what to do with them.

It wasn’t anything different for the young raven girl, the feelings of her stomach doing all sorts of flips and spirals as she made her way toward the Arithmancy classroom… but ever since Jax had heard whom their new head of house was, she just couldn’t contain herself. Rebecca Davenport… her favorite teacher, that seemed to be the only one who’d never let her down by leaving or doing anything of the sort, was now Ravenclaw’s new head of house. It made the fourteen year old squeal slightly to herself, for reasons Jax could only wonder over.
She didn’t tell Snake about her excitement, or anyone else for that matter, but it could be clearly seen within the young girl’s brilliant blue eyes that seemed to dance with glee. Coming into the classroom, Jax puffed out her chest knowingly and strode her stuff down to the seat nearest to Davenport’s desk, not saying a word. When she sat, she opened her notes and her books and rested her chin on her hand… sighing contently.
Her eyes, however, never fell to the charts on the board, her books, or even did anything with them… for they actually never left the back of the book that Davenport’s nose was buried in. The woman was so spacey, and yet, that only made Jax more intrigued by her. So intelligent, and yet, one would never expect it. The woman was a charm if Jax had ever seen one…
"Pro..Professor..." Jax stuttered, slightly wanting to smack herself for acting so stupid. "What's cook'n?" Jax asked, gesturing toward the woman's book with the hand that she wasn't resting her head on. "Anything good?"

Becca looked up and smiled at the young Ravenclaw. The professor hadn't had much of a chance to meet with the house she had just recently been put in charge of, but knew many of them from her classes. If the rest of the house was as conscientious a student as the young woman standing before her, there would be no problems.
"Good afternoon, Miss Chaput. Just looking up information on unicorns," she answered, closing the book and looking at the nearly empty room. Had she been doing more than just skimming, there was no way she would have heard the Ravenclaw speaking to her. "So, it looks like it's just you and me again. Perhaps next term we'll get a bigger class?"

Although she knew that Professor Davenport was her new House of House, it hadn't really sunken in at all. She hadn't wondered where Professor Kinsley had gone, as she had with all of the other departed Head of Houses that Ravenclaw had recently seen, she hadn't really missed the presence of the astronomy Professor. To be honest, Tianne hated the class, didn't feel much towards the teacher, most of the cold feelings coming from the fact that she taught the only subject that forced you up at an ungodly hour, and had never really gotten too attached to any professors.
But as soon as she was at her Arithmancy class, a class that she was slightly reluctant about attending, though she knew it would help her with whatever career she chose to pursue, she remembered this. She didn't know whether Davenport would play favorites to her Ravenclaws, but with Tianne's attendance and participation in the two classes that were taught by the lady, Tianne didn't think that she'd be at the top of the list, simple as that.
Entering the room, with a smile, as the girl was always told to do by her mother, perhaps to lighten the mood of that particular room, Tianne gave the professor and her fellow Ravenclaw a nod. She wasn't particularly familiar with Jax, they weren't friends, but had simply met under more professional than personal circumstances. "Good afternoon." Tianne smiled, dropping her bag onto a table and pulling a chair out. This lesson she was going to give it her all. She was just in that kind of a mood.

Ah, more students, and one from her own house. It was a good sign. Perhaps they could get some new insights this class. Professor Davenport enjoyed the one-on-ones with Jacquelyn, but it was also nice to hear from others.
"So we're here and ready I suppose," she announced, looking over her small group of students. "The charts are on the board and you know what to do. Let's get those numbers out and we'll be comparing similarities and differences."
