Everything just seemed to gleam in this room, it was only one of many reasons Dustan enjoyed the view. Forget the glory of helping the school, of winning a cup, of having your name engraved on a name plate. It was the beauty that this specific room held when the sunlight shone through the window at just the right angle in just the right weather. It was absolutely smashing.
Of course, the right weather had to be a top of the notch blue-sky morning, with rays of golden sunshine streaming in. And the earlier, the better. But this was just late morning, still a nice time of the day for him in his opinion.
Sitting with his back against a barren wall, Dustan watched the sunlight touch the handles of the cup, taking all of it in. This was real glory, when the sun touched the memories of your actions. No matter what any of these people did, it didn't matter, all that mattered was now the sun would always shine on their pasts.
It was a concept he wished he understood better, but for all reason and rhyme he just couldn't. Instead, he resolved to sit in the room, back against the wall, and observe what the sun's rays did. Apparently, it was working because the sun hadn't hidden, nor faded just yet, it wanted to immortalize those as long as possible, and what wouldn't want to?
They were heroes in their own rights and must have done something great to make it in here.
