"Is it loose in the castle? Because if so we should go look for it! It could be anywhere. And with all the other animals here, it could be in some real danger. And then what would you do? You'd lose your pet and that would just be sad. And who wants to be sad? Nobody." Inhaling deeply, Evie smiled sheepishly. "Sorry," she blushed slightly. "I tend to do that when I get excited or nervous. Mum says that Dad used to do it too, accept when he did it, his eyes changed colors too. Mine just stay green."
Turning quickly, Evie was surprised to find herself standing face to face with another trophy. Her eyes squinted in the dark light as she tried to read it but after a few seconds she gave up with a shrug. "We'll have to remember to come back here when it's light out so that we can read these?" She pointed around the room.

"I'm not sure if it's always in the castle though," she nodded. After all, the first time she'd spotted the heart-taker it was outside, and coincidentally it was also the time Drew had saved her from the tree's grasp. "I don't think it'd be in any real danger though, I can't even catch it." Maybe that sounded a bit self-important, but she was also very good at stuff like that. Laughing lightly, she couldn't help but like the way the girl seemed to ramble. Rambling was good. Felicity liked to ramble on occasion.
"You shouldn't apologize for every little thing Evie," she smiled. "There's nothing wrong with rambling a little." At the change of subject she gave a soft giggle. "Either we should come back when it's lighter, or when one of us learns to properly use a wand."

"I think it would be safer if we just came back tomorrow. Who knows how long it will take me, at least, to learn how to properly use my wand." She laughed, turning her attention back to the trophy. Her eyes lit up suddenly. "Unless...unless you know someone that is good with their wand and can come help us. Because if you did, that would be really really cool. Like...cool beyond imagination." Evie babbled, not even blushing this time.
"And then we could go on a squirrel hunt! Minus the killing part." She amended quickly, biting her lip.

Squirrel...hunt...kill... While the words didn't sound rightly all the pleasant, they were intrigueing words. Words meant people and the third year was looking for something or someone to cure her boredom so they would have to do. Lianna hadn't been in the trophy room for a long while, walked by it yes, but not gone in it again, nor had she certainly not read every award in the room. There were simply too many of them, and others were faded...not every award was a trophy you know.
"What about squirrels?" The third year questioned, her head taking it's standardly bewildered location of being slightly tipped to the left. So she was easy to confuse...at least she wasn't easily inconsiderate like most of the rest of mortality...

"Even if I did know someone, I wouldn't be able to summon them without a bit of magic out of this thing," she laughed pointedly at the wand. Perhaps that was one reason it didn't work, because she kept saying it didn't. Maybe if she were to assume it would work, then it would. Nah, she decided. If it was going to work anytime soon, it meant it would be because she practiced with it.
Again she laughed easily at Evie's outburst. A squirrel hunt sounded like much fun, and as she'd added, without the killing. No, it would be just to capture, if that was even possible. Turning to lead the way out of the room, she was spooked by the appearance of yet another person.
A large grin on her face, she replied, "We're going to catch one." Maybe she should add more incase the girl thought she meant to harm it. "I want a specific one that's been tugging at the strings of my heart nearly since I arrived. But, it seems he likes to play games as he let's me get close enough to reach it, but then as fate would have it, something happens and he gets away. I mean for him to be my pet," she added with another large girn. So amybe she sounded a bit strange again, talking about a squirrel as a pet, but she didn't really care all that much.

Chase a squirrel...just to catch it? Wow. And here Lianna had thought that was something only primary schoolers and Yanks did...well, the world was ful of little mysteries now wasn't it? As the third year listened to the older girl explain futher, she couldn't hold back the laughter from escaping, hardly managing to control herself before speaking.
"Sounds...to me...like...it's just...being...natural," She managed between laughs. "I mean...I mean, isn't it just...natural to run?" Lianna questioned, finally managing to control herself. She hadn't meant to seem rude, the young teen merely found the whole situation increduously amusing. Wouldn't anyone else, it was obvious this..."hunt" had been going on for some time now, and rendered no success, at the rate she was going it would take her the entire year...
"How can you even tell this squirrel from......another squirrel?"

"Ah, it is very natural. And as nature would have it, I've fallen in love with the fiend," she grinned at the girl. Felicity didn't notice anything about the way the younger girl had put it as being rude, but rather very true. "But I hope nature would stop making my love run away from me."
So it was official. There was definitely something in the water. Felicity was proclaiming her love for a squirrel to mere strangers, much as the other strange incidents had taken place around the castle since she'd arrived. Perhaps someone had brewed a good amount of a love potion and poured it into the water system. Maybe she'd beg her mum to start sending her bottled water just in case.
"Oh, it's quite easy to tell actually," she smiled brightly. "It's all in the eyes. He's a grey squirrel, I know exactly where he lives, and he gives me the same look everytime I see him. He really wants to be caught, I can feel it in my bones." Yeah, it was the water.

Evie could not stop the laugh that was fighting in her chest from breaking free and pouring from her mouth. As she watched Felicity and this new girl talk about catching the squirrel and keeping him for a pet and nature and all sorts of things, Evie finally realized that life was crazy and no matter what she tried to do, she would always be caught up in it. Leaning against the closest thing she could find, a trophy that seemed to be for Quidditch, although she couldn't rightly tell, the girl laughed harder than she could ever remember, tears pouring down her cheeks.

As crazy as it sounded, Lianna had to admit it did sound like an interesting pet to have. But, she wouldn't have the patience to stalk a squirrel for days on end merely in an attempt to catch it. But yet, here this older girl knew exactly which squirrel she was looking for and--wait--she knew where it lived? Alright, that was pushing the oddness just alittle bit further but, whatever...it wasn't her sanity at stake now was it?
As the Ravenclaw girl continued to laugh, as she had for many a long moments now, Lianna feared the might start turning her house colors if she didn't stop sometime soon. After all, she'd already surpassed the Gryffindor red, now, was it green that came next or blue? "Umm..." Was all the third year could manage while she glanced her eyes over again at the Ravenclaw, laughing to the brink, beyond the brink of tears? A bit extreme...tears that would be regretted if this Gryffindor ever actually caught her squirrel...

The sound of laughter was nice, but Felicity slowly gained concern for the Ravenclaw. Maybe she wasn't the only that had found the effects of the water? Perhaps the water affected everyone differently? It was possible. Her own smile wavering, her eyes took on the look of concern her entire face was threatening. Glancing at the younger girl, she noticed she also seemed slightly concerned.
"Evie?" she questioned. "Are you all right?" While she figured she just thought the idea was entirely too silly, she felt the need to be reassured anyway. No, she didn't think this particular Ravenclaw was crazy, nowheres near like that of the one with the cat, but still.

Finally able to stop herself from laughing, Evie took a deep breath. Her face slowly returned to her normal color, but when she met the eyes of the other two girls in the room she burst out laughing again.
"If you...could see....your faces....right now..." She managed through her laughter before doubling over again. "Just keep...talking...without me..."

"Our faces?" she asked as she turned to look at the younger girl. Perhaps her own expression was more amusing than that of hers as the girl didn't look very hilarious. Looking back to Evie, she couldn't help but slightly catch on to the silly giggles the girl had, very contagious they were even if she didn't know the reason why.
At Evie's request, Felicity turned her brown eyes to the other girl and smiled, trying not to let loose a round of her own laughter. Extending a hand she said, "My name's Felicity, Gryffindor, fifth year. It's nice to meet you."

To Lianna's knowledge her own face showed nothing but concern, but just like one man's trash was another's treasure, perhaps one's concern was another's bemusement? Oh well, whatever the cas,e the conversation would continue as requested, though Lianna would still remain concerned for the girl's respiratory functions. ( ) "Lianna Maylorn, third year Hufflepuff," The badger replied, shaking her new found friend's hand warmly but soft. "Nice to meet you too...and her name is...Evie?" Lianna added questioningly, beleiving she'd hear the name spoke once either as she entered or since that time. It was either she'd heard it then, or she'd heard the Ravenclaw's name mentioned elsewhere...Lianna really just simply couldn't recall.

"Evie, that's right," she smiled at the girl now known as Lianna. "She's in...Ravenclaw," Felicity added after a moment's hesitation to remember exactly what the girl had told Michael. "Fourth year?" she turned questioning the girl in laughing mode. There had been so many people she'd met it was sometimes hard to keep it all the information straight about this person or that, and she didn't want anyone thinking she hadn't been paying attention when they gave their information, it was just there had been such an abundance that she had to dig deeply in her mind for the bits and pieces and fit them together with the correct faces.
"So, Lianna," she turned back to the younger girl with a smile on her face. "Are you also new at Hogwarts, or are you vet?" She'd met so many new people, so many that had been placed there for a while, she wasn't able to tell the difference when she met people, and she constantly felt the need to ask.

Was she new, well, she couldn't rightly expect people to know but she didn't look lost, nor was she asking stupid questions about the staircses or anything else. But everyone knew what assuming did to you nod didn't they? "Nope, been here since my first year and...liking most of it. Haven't like some of the Professors, nor some of the classes, but Hogwarts is pretty neat once you get used to it." Lianna replied, taking the moment between words to freely move about the trophy cases and other awards.
Some were pretty amazing, quidditch trophies, academic awards, some seemed like then and now moments...and then behind one trophy that was blocking a view of the wall she found what was clearly an archaic comical joke. "We would like to congratulate Ronald Weasley for officially spending the third most amount of time within this room using broom polish to clean these trophies. May Filch and Norris ever have claim to his arms and fingers." The third year read aloud, managing to successfully hold back laughter until the end. "Wow...umm...wasn't he friends with Harry Potter?" Lianan questioned, remembering the name had came up many a times in textbooks when she'd skipped ahead chapters. This was...well, it was amusing but it felt weird to find what could be considered a piece of Hogwarts' history.
