Bored as ever, if not lost as ever as well, Felicity walked around the Third Floor Corridor looking for something to do. She hadn't spotted her squirrel in the last couple of days, and was beginning to worry that she may not be able to catch him. However, she decided to stay away from the negative thoughts on that one, after all if she thought that way it was bound to happen.
Instead, Felicity merrily skipped about through the hall, rounding this corner and that looking for something to do. Going around her latest corner, she stopped dead in her tracks. There just happened to be a wonderful little room right there, one that would hopefully prove to be interesting. Pushing aside the door to make room for her body to enter, she scanned over the items. Trophies placed here and there, plaques exclaiming deeds well done, awards scattered. Interesting, well at least interesting enough. Walking up to a rather large trophy, a silver one with gold trimming, in the shape of a a dragon, she peered at the scripture. Not very visible in the dim lighting.
Taking out her wand, she tried making it light as she been taught to. Unfortunately, her wand and she seemed to disagree about what was the right way and what was the wrong way of swishing, flicking, and speaking incantations. Four tries later, to no avail, her wand remained as magic-less as a carrot.
"Bloody," she mumbled under her breath. It was obvious if she wanted to read it, she'd have to strain her eyes.

Deciding to take a break from sketching, only because her hand was starting to ache after writing all of the essays and sketching at the same time, Evie thought that maybe she should begin to really explore the castle rather than just using her artist's eye. She hadn't met many people around the school and she thought maybe she might run into someone while she walked.
It didn't take long for her to realize, however, that she was not like the other students at Hogwarts. In Ireland she had been so outgoing, so sure of herself. She knew what she was doing and she had no problems telling the world. Now she was not so sure. Magic had been something that she wanted for a long time. Any connection to her father would be amazing, and she thought that being in Hogwarts would do so.
Being so lost in thought she didn't realize where she was walking until she found herself standing outside of a room with the door open. Peeking her head inside, she looked around, hoping to find someone. She was happy to find that there was. Walking up behind the girl she did her best to keep quiet. "Whatcha doin?"

Focusing her attention on the scripture, she didn't hear the girl walk up behind her. Therefore it was unsurprising that she jumped nearly a mile high when the girl spoke. Clutching at her heart she turned, gasping in breath. Recognition glittered her eyes when she saw who it was that had so carefully made her way into the room. It was Evie, the same girl she met not only a few days before.
"You know you really shouldn't go sneaking up on people like that," she smiled slightly. If she had been any other person, it would have been highly possible said person would have drawn their wand. However, Felicity had no real abilities with hers, and wouldn't wish the end results on her worst enemy.
"I was actually just trying to read what was written down here," she explained pointing at the area.

A small laugh left Evie's lips as she recognized Felicity standing before her. She remembered meeting the girl a few days before and she relaxed slightly, glad that she had the chance to talk to her again. "I'm sorry." She smiled. "I didn't mean to startle you. You just seemed so lost in looking at all of these things." She said, her hands in the air motioning around her.
Leaning forward, she looked at what Felicity was pointing at. Adjusting the glasses on the tip of her nose she looked at the small writing. "If my eyes were better..." she muttered to herself, getting impossibly close to the object. "I have no idea what that could possibly mean." She said, stepping back and running her fingers through her hair.
Suddenly a thought hit her. "Have you found your squirrel yet?"

"No need to apologize, but you may just want to be a bit more careful." Felicity wasn't angry or anything like that, she just didn't think someone should sneak up another like that. If only my wand work was better Felicity thought after Evie made mention of her eyes. It wouldn't have been nearly so impossible if it would work with her rather than against her. She just couldn't understand how the man who had sold it to her could have been so sure the wand was perfect for her, especially as almost every spell she tried either backfired or didn't happen at all.
A large grin crept over her lips when the green eyed girl asked about the squirrel. "Not yet," she replied shaking her head. "He seems to be very careful about where he roams now, almost as though he knows I'm after him. But I will get him," she laughed. Or at least she hoped so.

Evie nodded as she walked around the room, taking in all of the details around her. Everything was so beautiful. No matter where she was, the beauty of the castle seemed to catch her attention and never let go.
"How long have you been at Hogwarts?" She asked suddenly, looking over at Felicity. The unnerving quiet had finally gotten to her and although she knew it was not the most interesting topic to discuss, it was something.

Felicity had to agree with the other blond, the silence was unnerving indeed. However, it allowed her to take in a few of the other pieces around, to see the beautiful craftsmanship. There were more than a few intriguing pieces, some smaller than others, and many had interesting inscriptures that were actually visible enough to read in the lighting.
"Me?" she asked as though there were another person Evie may have been asking. "I've only just arrived. My first year here," she stated proudly. She loved being able to say she was at Hogwarts, even if it was her first time. "My mum taught me until now, she and my dad decided I should come here. What about you? I know you said you were in your fourth year, but have you been here since your first?"

Evie shook her head quickly. "My first year as well. Me mum didn't want me to go running off to school when I was younger. Said I was the last bit of family she had, with Dad gone and me being an only child. I had a tutor for a while since Mum's a muggle." Her voice was soft yet proud, happy to be explaining where she came from. Green eyes darted around the room again before settling on Felicity's face.
"Both of your parents went to Hogwarts?" She asked, moving around the room again. "Do you think we could get some light in here?" She asked herself, wishing she could remember the spell to do so.

A small smile made it's way to Felicity's lips, it was a sincere smile, one saying she was sorry to hear about evie's dad. But the girl sounded happy to be talking to someone about her heritage, and Felicity immediately decided she liked that. Evie wasn't haughty, snobbish, nor was she looking to pick a fight. And Felicity liked that.
Shaking her head at the girl's question, it flipped her long pony-tail over her shoulder before she answered. "Nah, my dad's a muggle. My mum came here though," she added with a smile. It didn't bother her in any way shape or form, in fact she liked having one of each parent, she had learned many things because of it. Grinning almost sheepishly, she wasn't entirely sure how to answer the girl's next question. "Well, if I was any good with my wand, maybe. Unless you're good one?"

Laughing again, Evie shook her head. "My wand hates me. I swear, Ethan only let me buy this one as a joke. No matter what I try to do with it, something explodes. It's not safe. Most of the time I don't even have it with me." She admitted, looking down before meeting Felicity's eyes.
"A lot of the time I try spells without my wand. Some of them go better than others. Although there was the time my mother ended up floating around the house in a bubble for a few days." She said, more to herself than to Felicity. Shaking her head at the memory, she smiled. "But no. I'm no good with my wand either."

"I believe we may be in the same boat on that one," she smiled easily. "I don't think the guy who sold me my wand knew what he was doing, no matter what his credentials were. My spells usually backfire, or don't happen at all." As she'd tried before to light up the room, she didn't think it'd be a smart idea to do so again, with her luck she'd set Evie's blond hair on fire.
"I haven't tried wandless magic," she admitted to her. Felicity figured since the girl admitted something to her, she should back. It was only fair. Though, when she talked about what happened to her mum, Felicity went into a fit of giggles, nothing that drastic had ever happened to brown-eyed girl. "I guess maybe we should just not bother with the lighting, and instead just be very careful picking around everything." Even if it meant straining their eyes terribly.

Evie laughed with Felicity, feeling slightly more relaxed. "I started with wandless magic. Ethan swears by it. He's all 'you have to be able to do magic without the wand. You may not have it with you, or within reach at all times. Learning to connect to blah blah blah...' That was the point where I would usually tune him out. He talked far to much for a teacher." She laughed again and then bit her bottom lip.
"I can't believe you haven't found your squirrel yet. Does he do this often? Run away, I mean. Because it can be dangerous for a squirrel in this castle, with all the ghosts and such. Can't it?" She had grown up a muggle, and so even with her training as a witch, there were many things about the magical world that she did not know.

Felicity brought her hands up to cover the laughter escaping her mouth. Evie actually reminded her of her cousin Cherry, or at least was beginning to remind her of her. Some people did just talk too much about certain subjects, and it could be annoying at times, much as Cherry would say.
"Well," the blond began. "Actually, the squirrel," she continued haultingly. "You see, he isn't exactly mine. At least not yet. A few days ago I found him outside by a tree, and chased him around. And now I've decided I want to keep it. But there in lies the problem, he doesn't want to stay in one place for very long." All right, maybe she did sound off her rocker. The girl wanted to capture a wild squirrel, train it, and keep it as a pet. Actually, now that she thought about it, it sounded even more fun than before.

Evie hesitated. "You found a squirrel outside and chased it around for awhile, so now you want to keep it as a pet?" She asked, hoping that she didn't sound to rude by asking the question. She had never contemplated the idea of keeping a wild animal for herself. Cats had always been her specialty, having grown up with three of them living in her house with her. She seemed to understand the small feline animals.
"Are you going to teach it tricks and bring it with you everywhere and play with it and do all sorts of other pet like things with it? Because that sounds like a lot of fun." She finally concluded.

Nodding her head enthusiastically, she knew how strange she sounded. Of course, she'd been to the magical emporium, but nothing had really struck her fancy. There were owls at Hogwarts for student use, so she felt no need to get her own, she really didn't like cats, and a toad wasn't something that suited her. However, after the small amount of time she'd played with the thing, she'd decided it was exactly what she wanted.
"I hope so," she grinned goofly. "I want to tame it of course, and try to make it as pet-ish as possible." Felicity was glad someone thought it sounded fun, because she herself was extremely excited about it.
