Yeah, I know, but I had some timing issues as well. Stuff came up, and I couldn't get around it, so HR had to suffer for that. It was a shame, cause I was kinda having fun.
For the record, I think we mostly won through clever thinking. The Deva are clearly in a position of power and not expecting to have that balance upset soon. Anything (distractions that take down members or such) that changed the balance could create some chaos among the captors and lead to their defeat. I'm just riffing on this one.
As far as what Gail is doing, I think Charlie, Drew, and Keagan are probably better suited to taking out the Deva guys in the hallway. They're more the active, leader-type people. I think she would be willing to stick behind and be sort of loosely "in charge," for lack of a better term, of Lianna and Hannah while the others are off doing their thing.
As far as action goes, I think Gail would probably be using some of the stash and a bit of her own ingenuity to cause some distractions, trying to keep the Deva's attention away from the hallway. Since there are relatively few Deva on the first and second floor, this may be where that plays out. This may also keep the two or three roving ones occupied (Raynor did mention that) and buy Drew and co. a bit more time to get students out.
If she is caught by someone, and I think she is eventually, she would likely end up still standing, though not without some damage to show for it. Gail is kinda in the same boat as Ari--good with a wand, but lacking in experience. However, she's working with a broken wand, and if you add in her nerves, anything that connects is probably overpowered or uncontrolled.

I want to be clear that I wasn't blaming. I know everyone has different time constraints. I just knew you guys weren't posting as much and I didn't want to stick you in a position you might not be able to work with Any of us seven who were not taking out Deva and keeping the hallway clear would be, in my thinking, shuttling the younger kids off the grounds or at least organizing departures and such. I wouldn't want to start using force &/or diversion tactics until the Deva gets suspicious. I'd be counting on Hiro, Krissy, (and who ever else they rope in) to make sure the little kids are sent to us as discretely as possible.

I suppose I just assumed that it wasn't god-moding if it's in a discussion thread. We're discussing what may or may not have happened. I suppose I felt like you thought Keagan (and others) weren't as capable because you weren't even suggesting that they may be able to do something, or may have done something.
I'm not upset about it anymore, and I understand where you're coming from, Drew. As long as Keagan won't be excluded just because I'm not overtly posting it....I'm good.
...I know Keagan would be up for knocking out the Deva. She kept her wand for a reason, has a house full of students and a boy she loves in that Hall, and has improved her wandwork in leaps and bounds. Also, being a Seeker has it's advantages for Keagan on a broom, being a shuttle.

12 posts were deleted from this thread by admin.Since it seems to be an area of concern, lets play it safe folks and not assume what another character has done or not done in the plot. Also, since the plot was not finished, lets not judge activity as a means for how strong of a role the character plays out in the end. Everyone is assumed to have been in the Great Hall unless they said otherwise, if you did not post at all, I think it is unfair that you should say you were a grand hero when there is nothing to base that off on, but if a character did post, there should be equal opportunity. The plot really was badly timed in the sense of school starting and all that jazz. It wasn't planned that way, but it just happened to fall around the same time. So, ideas that have been put forth so far to summarize: How the Deva are driven out ideas: - Overall, the defeat being a combination of Wit/Clever, force, and numbers.
- The group of six ( Hannah, Keagan, Drew, Gail, Lianna?, Charlie) work from the "outside" and knock out two Deva guards and get younger year students off the ground floor and off the grounds with brooms (which is possible). Number released will have to be debated as it needs to be realistic, the Deva are bound to notice if too many go missing.
Keagan: A primary in using force against the Deva and wand-skills. Is a seeker, and willing to use accompanying skills to help with the student shuttling process. Aids in taking out the two Deva guards?
Drew: A primary in using force against the Deva and aids in taking out the two Deva guards and shepherding first years with brooms.
Charlie: A primary in using force against the Deva and aids in taking out the two Deva guards and shepherding the first years out with brooms.
Gail: Uses her ingenuity to cause distractions and keeps an eye on Lianna and Hannah. Willing to take some injuries/capture but wants to be left still standing.
** Need input from the rest of the Six on what they did. More specifics from those who have? ** Younger year volunteers that want to be smuggled? NPCs?
- Hiro + others create mayhem from the inside, a "surprise attack" of sorts. This group is aided by Ari's cat Juni who brings supplies (and wands?). Planned union with the Six? And perhaps Ministry members? Ministry might become bolder and take a chance if the inside is going to rebel. LOTS of people can get involve with this idea, volunteers needed.
*** During this Arianna and Sienna brawl it out. Arianna knocks off Sienna's mask and the fight continues. Krissy comes to Arianna's aid. Sienna is eventually incapacitated.
- Brady creates a distraction with dueling Apollo(?), while the events are happening. Perhaps the rest of the staff join in too? Good chance for staff in the school to interact.
Aftermath Ideas:- Nick the Wand-Maker wants a plot. Deva are probably going to run off with wands as it will be impossible to get them all back before they flee. Hogwarts hosts a small wand fair so that students can get new wands without leaving the grounds?
- DADA to be restored, but not just yet. "Sweat it out a bit," so to say and work on some plot lines surrounding that.
Side Note: If DADA continues, I am personally debating continuing as its teacher, if purely due to much less personal time that I'll be able to dedicate to posting lessons. Yes, the Head conventionally does not teach, however, Raynor IC would feel all the more responsible for teaching the students how to defend themselves and would want to oversee that personally. I believe she will be a very unconventional Headmistress. But it is a matter of debate as the writer.
This is just a combination of the ideas all ready mentioned. NONE of them are final and can be added onto, discuss about in changes, and other ideas offered as well. This is just to help everyone sort through the thread. Posts like this will be made periodically. Great slew of ideas so far, guys!

If you need a volunenteered younger year character to be smuggled out that isn't NPC (if it's decided to have playing characters over NPCs) Brenton would love to be smuggled away...plus, he would love any chance to be able to tell about his own great part in the escape (though there really isn't one )

Two things on my end as well... If anyone wants to be part of the strike force on the ground send me a PM so far the force is me. Brady has volunteered for a distraction. Second the first mission of the task force is to get wands back in the students hands, it's not believable that all the wands are carried at all times so we plan on finding and getting some stored wands. If you gave up your wand this is a chance to get it back, if you didn't this is a chance to use it.

Oh wow. Didn't mean to make a big deal. Sorry bout that, Drew. I know you were just saying, and I was just saying too. Thanks for trying not to god-mod us. I do like the idea for Nick the Wand-Maker and the wand fair. That could be kinda fun. But I agree. I love my wand. And I want mine back too. Also, Drew, I do agree with you that perhaps diversions should take place a little later on. On the other hand, the guys who roam the ground floor could end up anywhere and may need to be taken out of the equation so they don't happen upon you guys before Hiro and Krissy start their thing. Perhaps ditto the guy at the other end of the hallway, who the students would need to be smuggled right past. The guys on the first and second floor could be called down to help in the Hall if someone in the Deva wanted help, and getting them out of the equation would generally help everyone take back the school. Probably not all Gail's ideas IC, and I am just putting thoughts on paper (screen, whatever), but maybe things to consider as the Seven make their plans through the overnight hours. ((Oh, and I just noticed this is post 200. Took me long enough, but still: Yay!))

I'm spending a lot of time under the Huffle table, so any chance to get out and get home would be great. I think Devin would grab at that, without much thinking of the risks at this point.
Maybe students taken out should be a mix of NPCs and Played charas, just to mix things up a little.

I've actually had a pretty well formed plan for what I want our seven to do, but I left a lot of holes in the hopes of getting some outside ideas. Since I'm gettign the impression that my half-reveal is not going over very well, this is what I was thinking in more detail. So in it's (mostly) entirety: Originally, my plan was to get word to Hiro and Krissy, via Juni, that night. I know that this would contradict some of their threads, so I'm thinking Juni might have gotten sidetracked and delivered the note (and supplies... Drew knows the spell considering that's how he fits two apples in one pocket) in the morning. The pouch would have any extra wands we could gather from Ravenclaw and hopefully Gryffindor, a few well wrapped jars of lightning, paint and stinkbombs, and a bit of anything else Hiro and Drew have in their stash. The note would be in Braille with the assumption that anyone who inadvertantly got ahold of it would not be able to read it. Aside from telling about our location and plans, the note would have the standard gooshiness in times of stress parts: Tell Felicity I'm okay, tell Nic (insert whatever Ari says here), tell Finn... , huggsies and kissies from Charlie. Early the following morning (or as early as we can and not contradict other threads) The Magnificent Seven (not to say that anyone else is NOT magnificent, BTW... it was just a cool name) make their way down a few floors to a hallway overlooking the courtyard. I'd like those of us who are actually doing the initial attack to rappel down, just because I think it would be less noticable if someone does peek out (besides being totally cool). I'm going to assume now that those people would be Charlie, Keagan, Ari, and me. We would also have a satchel containing various jars, vials, and bombs to be used later on. If you look at the map, the two Deva guarding the courtyard door really are out of the way and can not be seen by any other Deva except maybe the one at the hall entrance. If we attack the two with silent spells from behind (a nice Petrificus Totalus should do it, followed by a Silencio and an Incarcerous) we should be able to have them out of the way before anyone notices. At this point, I'm thinking two of us put on their robes and masks just in case the guy at the other end decides to look over his shoulder. My recommendation would be Charlie and me for this. Sorry, Ari but your petiteness might cause suspicion, plus I think you and Keagan are better trusted and we need those little guys to see friendly faces if we're going to get them through the door to the courtyard. If we know of, say a group of Slytherins who might respond better to Charlie, she would switch out with Keagan. While this is happening, the other three are flying down to the courtyard (unless you want to rappel as well ) to start the shuttles to Hogsmeade (figuring two to a broom here). If we happen to get some more younger students who want to help (thinking of kids like Artie here) we should have enough brooms to get a few more shuttlers going. ALL first and second years will be strongly encouraged to leave (and yes, I'm hoping we get some actual people playing it out). Krissy, Hiro, and whoever else they manage to hook in will organize sending small groups of kids down that hall. I'm thinking that a minor distraction might be used (a ball game in the entry way, throwing potatoes up the stairs and watching them race down... nothing to cause trouble) as this is happening. The distraction is to keep the focus off the hallway, not to create problems. With the lack of anything major happening for the last few days, my guess is that some sort of playful diversion will quickly draw the guards' attention, but will not put them on edge. If even half of their attention is on the game, at most half will be on the hallway and they probably won't notice that the kids that went down there never came back until it's too late. I also fully trust Hiro and Krissy to reach every single firstie, second year, and realistically even a some of the older kids. Eventually, we all will be discovered. It will be pretty clear that the jig is up and those of the seven who are staying behind to fight will cover the last few escapees. After that, for me at least, it will be aim fast, aim true. ;D The previous plan was in no way meant to downplay anyone's importance or hurt anyone's feelings. If I did so for whatever reason, please PM me. Sorry, Nick, but I'm still not sure how we can get the wands from you. It was a fab idea though, so if anyone has something that could realistically work, please speak up ;D And if you flat out have a better idea, that's good by me ;D

Alright-- disregard this if you don't particularly have interest in the outside Hogwarts affairs. Although it does have strong connections to the castle, considering that there's GOT to be hype about this. But additions or subtractions are more than welcome.
The Daily Prophet have been drinking massive amounts of coffee as a single unit in order to cover this event. Taking pictures inside the castle have been absolutely useless because nobody wants to talk to the media-- or do they...? For that latter speculation, if someone really wants to spill out their guts and are free with unfortunately getting it spun into some sad sap victim's story, PM me or Juliet.
In the aftermath, there have been additional reports, coming strongly from some of the students' parents, crying out the horrors of the take over. Indeed, along with the usual (and unusual) owls, there are literally thousand upon thousands of interview requests for all of those involved, victims and predators alike. There's going to be some sneaky reporters trying to find creative ways to get their on-record quotes in, but to no avail if security is going to tighten up all and any of that unnecessary connection with the media.
My ideas are weak as of now, but I persuade you all to use the media. Help me find the sob stories, the hero stories, the editorials, the verbal rampages. Keep in mind that on the grand scale, it could really affect the public and up to the government. It's a great chance... or it could be a lethal chance as well.
