February 16th ( Monday ) After lessons
Guy felt like a turtle sometimes. He would poke his head out of his shell for a few seconds, not like what he saw, and head right back in. He didn't mean to do this, it just sort of happened to him when he didn't intend to. The normally very social Gryffindor seventh year hadn't been doing much of anything lately. Sure, he drummed, and kept his grades alright, but he hadn't actually done anything with anyone in a really long time. The only two most recent things he could think of was the Gryffindor party shindig last week, and hanging out with the new sixth year, Eaden, the other day. Both events had turned out well, giving Guy a chance to meet his new and old house mates.
Another thing he had been neglecting other than his social life was his skateboarding. His board had remained locked up in his trunk for months, and when the seventh year pulled it out that afternoon, it looked sad dusty and old.
It depressed him a little bit, so he cleaned it up a bit, performing a few polishing spells and it looked just as it was - brand new. It looked good, and Guy felt excited as he dropped the board on the ground just outside of Gryffindor tower, skating around in his school uniform. Well, partial uniform anyway. He had changed his shoes from the normal black dressy looking ones to a pair of black chucks and opted out of wearing his vest. His plain white shirt and maroon and gold colored tie were both a little wrinkled, and his hair looked a bit out of place because of his black beanie cap shoved on his head, but he didn't really care too much.
The stairs were a bit of an issue, and at first Guy didn't know if he would be able to jump them. The first flight he walked down, the next, he jumped. It had ended pretty good as he fell to the landing, his board rolling along as if nothing happened, Guy following along. He was a little shaken up from the big distance and the drop, but he didn't mind. He did this six more times until he was about to jump the final flight of stairs that would take him right to the entrance hall. Something went wrong, and as Guy kicked himself forward and up to get some air, he found his board slipping out from underneath him, and he was literally air born for a few seconds. Those few seconds were good, the feeling of flying with out a broom hit him, but then the floor hit him, too. Or rather... he hit the floor.
" Ouchhhhhhhhhhhhhh....... " He groaned, landing on his stomach, his arms instinctively wrapping around his head.

Abby had no steam left. After another day of classes and nearly blowing things up, she just didn't have the energy to deal with anything else. If she stumbled upon a big trauma, she would probably just keep walking and let someone else clean it up.
Fat chance.
Even if Abby had a limp hanging by a thread and was about to die, she'd stop to help someone else. She hated that sometimes. She got too involved in other people's problems that she forgot about her own. It wasn't a bad thing that she had distractions from her own pathetic life, but she hated being worried about other people all the time. But that was just the kind of person this Gryffindor was. Abby cared about other people and she had lots of friends because of it. Back home, anyways. Here at Hogwarts, she'd been a hermit for her first four years and was only now coming out of her little shell. The Gryffindor party had been the first real social event she'd attended in what seemed like forever, but she had foregone the whole "Valentine's Day"...thing. That was something she would never attend.
Coming up the stairs from the dungeons, Abby wished more than anything that Hogwarts would install elevators. The stairs were ridiculous and she was seriously contemplating camping out on them until classes tomorrow. "Ugh, classes tomorrow," Abby moaned to herself, not wanting to think about what the next day was going to bring. However, Abby's complaining thoughts were interrupted suddenly when a boy came flying (literally) down the stairs.
Rushing to his side, Abby dropped her books and knelt down next to him. She recognized him as that cute boy from the party. "Oh my God, are you okay?" she asked him.

He groaned, burying his face into the crook of his one arm, his other arm wrapped around the top of his head. that was stupid... he thought to himself, not wanting to move for a second or so. He hadn't hit his head at all, just his stomach was feeling a bit bruised because he had landed on it. His knees also felt a little wobbly from smacking them off of the hard cement floor. But other than that, Guy felt alright. He just didn't feel like moving, so he stayed where he was for a moment or two. ' Oh my God, are you okay? '
Guy peeked out from his arms to catch a glimpse of a girl kneeling down next to him on the ground. He couldn't remember her name but figured it was just because he sucked at remember names, not because he had amnesia or something stupid like that. " Yeah, I'm fine, don't worry. " was what he said. But really, due to the fact that he was talking into his arms the sound was muffled and sounded a bit more like, " 'eah, I' 'ine, bon't worr. " He didn't know he sounded stupid and incoherent, so he kept his head buried in his arms, just sitting for a few more seconds.
He finally pushed himself up into a sitting position, stretching his legs out in front of him and leaning back on his arms. " Cool move, huh? " He said to the girl sarcastically as he looked around for his board.

Abby's legs were folded under her and she sat back on her heels, watching the boy all curled up int the fetal position on the ground. She looked around, seeing no one there and wondering how that was even possible. Someone was always around except right now when she actually needed it. She groaned slightly, looking back at the boy as he spoke.
"'eah, I' 'ine, bon't worr."
That was all she heard. She was about to ask him what he'd said when he sat up suddenly and spoke more clearly. "Sure thing, Evel Knievel," Abby answered him, slightly sarcastic. She rolled her eyes and giggled softly, moving around so she was in front of the boy. "Are you sure you're alright?" she asked in a concerned tone, "Did you hit your head?"

Guy straightened his hat on his head, turning it so the bill of the cap was somewhat sideways and a bit crooked looking. His eyes flashed back to Abby and he jokingly rolled his eyes at the younger girl. " Knievel ain't got nothing on me. " He said, and with that he jumped up even though she had just moved in front of him to see if he was alright. " I'm fine, don't worry. " He repeated what he had said earlier as he brushed his pants off, getting rid of some of the dirt. He didn't mean to move away from the girl so quickly, he just needed to find his board.
It was new as of a couple months ago, and it was pretty expensive for his dad to buy at that. " Did you see where my skateboard went? " He asked, turning around in a circle in front of the girl as he scanned the Entrance Hall, knowing it really couldn't have gotten off too far without someone spotting it.
" You're Abby right? " He asked, turned back to look at the girl. " I think we've sort of met before. "

The Gryffindor girl couldn't help giggling at his comment about her calling him Evel Knievel. She felt her cheeks flush a little, but she wasn't quite sure why they had. Abby was usually a friendly, flirty kind of girl but something about this boy was making her blush. As he pulled himself up, he told her that he was indeed okay and she shouldn't worry. A snort escaped her at his comment, but she said nothing of it. In her head, she knew she was going to worry, no matter what he told her. He'd just flung himself down a flight of stairs, something had to not be okay. But if he insisted, Abby wasn't going to push it.
Getting to her feet, Abby picked up the sprawled books she'd dropped in her panic and looked down for his skateboard. Across the Hall, she stopped it against the wall. It had rolled quite a distance from the stairs, so the boy must have been going pretty fast. As she was about to walk over and get the board, he spoke again.
"You're Abby right?"
Stopping dead, Abby twirled around. It shocked her slightly that he knew her name, but then a name started floating back to her. She'd heard his before, but couldn't quite get it. Greg, or something? No, that wasn't it. It was an odd name, sort of, but she just couldn't remember. "Yeah, she answered him with a light smile, "Yeah, I'm Abby. And you are..." The name escaped her completely and she bit her bottom lip. She felt bad that she didn't know it and she cheeks glowed scarlet once again.

Guy, being the oblivious and not observant person that he was, hardly noticed the girl's blushing. He noticed her smile, though, because she seemed to be very smiley at him. He grinned back slightly, his hands sliding casually into his pockets as he looked around. He spotted a small group of firsties but didn't see any of them carrying his board hostage. He saw two kids standing off from the group, talking, but again didn't see his skateboard anywhere around all of those people.
He picked up one of the girl's books she had overlooked and handed it over, saying, " Yeah. Sorry, by the way. " He shrugged his shoulders, almost his way of saying falling down the stairs wasn't the worst thing he could have done under the circumstances. He had done worse, nearly falling off the roof a couple of times even. He hadn't though, so he guessed that maybe he was lucky. Or just stupid.
After handing over the girl's book, he turned in the opposite direction, not noticing that Abby was headed right for his board. He glanced back and saw her all smiley again, the girl paused, and he guessed it was because she didn't know his name. " Guy. Styles. " He added his last name, just figuring she might want to know for reference. He looked past the fifth year and finally spotted what she had been walking towards. " Heeey.. You found it! "

"Guy," Abby repeated, remember now that she heard it, "Right." God, that's a hot name, she found herself thinking but then shook her head as if trying to knock that last thought out of her brain. She took the book from him that he'd picked up for her and smiled again, wishing she wasn't such a dork. "Oh don't worry about it," she told him casually, "As long as you're okay. That looked like quite a nasty fall." But considering he was up and moving, it must have just looked worse than it actually was.
Doing almost a full turn, Abby watched Guy walk past her in the direction she had been going. The Gryffindor girl remembered the reason she'd been going in that direction in the first place and she followed him over to where the board was. Now that she looked at it, it seemed like a rather nice one. Abby wasn't a pro at all that concern skateboarding, but she figured she knew enough to carry on a decent conversation about it. "How long have you been skating?" she asked him, genuinely interested in it.

Guy nodded his head, tossing the girl a small grin as she repeated his name out loud. " Yup. You can call me Knievel if you want though. I'm not opposed to it. " He joked lightly with small laugh. He was surprised how naturally talking was even after his several months in isolation with not many others to talk to. She brushed off his apology, which was good because he really didn't want her to think him a terrible person for making her drop all her books and come running to his side.
" I kind of have a knack for that. " He mentioned, meaning making things look worse than they actually end up being. When it came to terms of falling, that was true. He remembered rollar skating out in the courtyard and drenching himself in the fountain in an oh so slick manner. That had actually been fun, though. " Were you on your way to a class? " He asked in a distracted sort of manner as he headed over to his board and picked it up in his hands, turning it over to make sure it had fared better than he had from the fall.
It had and was looking fine. " A couple of years. You ever skated? " He asked curiously, setting the board on the ground and standing on it, rolling back and forth a few inches as he looked back at Abby.

Abby laughed right out loud as he told her she could call him Knievel and shook her head at him. He was such a cutie and Abby couldn't keep herself from grinning. "No, no, I was just coming from Potions," Abby explained when he asked about classes, "Just about blew up the room but...oh well." She chuckled softly to herself and smiled at him again. Guy seemed pretty cool and like the kind of person Abby needed to hang out with in order to make her less anti-social.
"Not...well," she answered truthfully with a giggle, "I've tried a couple times 'cause some friends of mine are pretty into it but...I happen to like having my limb's in one piece."

Guy put on a look of approval as she said something about blowing up the potions room. " Well done, then mate. " He said with a nod of his head, then asking, " How'd you manage to work that one out? " He had never actually blown something up in potions class, sure he had broken several things before, but he had never blown anything up. He almost wish he had, though. As he thought about it, his question didn't make sense because just about ever class was already done over with. Then again, some Professors liked to hold study sessions afterwards, do you never know.
His grin widened slightly as she giggled and said that she couldn't really skate. " You kiddin' me? Limps in place has nothing to do with it. C'mon, " He said, jumping off the board so Abby could get on. He wasn't exactly aware if he was being flirty or too pushy or anything like that, as he probably would have done the same thing with any girl who admitted to not knowing how to skate in his presense.

"I'm actually not quite sure how I did it," she answered truthfully with a laugh, "I think I added too much...something in it." She shrugged her shoulders. Abby was pretty good when it came to academics, but Potions was one of her weaker subjects. She almost always messed up in that class, but she wasn't planning on being a potion maker after school, so it mattered little to her.
When Guy stepped off the board, Abby backed up right away. She waved her hands in front of her like she was going to fight him off if he came any closer. "No, no, no, no, not a chance," she told him straight up, "Not happening. The last time my friends put me on one of those, I almost died. Not doing it." She laughed playfully as she told him this, but still refused to get on it. Abby had a feeling he was going to force her to do it anyways and she would probably cave, but she was going to hold out as long as she could.

" Ahh. " He said with a knowing look. He could relate to that, even if he hadn't managed to blow something up as of yet, he had gone through plenty of incidents where he put too much of something into the potion or too little and it just didn't work out. He did recall one time in his sixth year where his potion was supposed to be a light pink color and it turned a dingy green, smelling like a swamp. That hadn't turned out too well for him, but he grinned at the memory. " Potions isn't exactly the easiest subject ever. " He responded with a certain amount of sympathy in his voice.
" Yes, yes, yes, yes, " He said, his playful grin still in place. He listened to her reasonings for not going on the board and shook his head at her, listing his own reasons for why she should get on the board. " It's not gonna eat you, you don't die, and I'll help you. " His voice was partially convincing as he could barely contain his amusement at her refusals. He didn't move towards her, only stood a foot or so away from the board, inviting her to stand on it if she pleased. " Really, you won't get hurt. Just so long as you don't try jumping from there, " He pointed to the landing above the stairs, " To here. " He pointed to the spot where he had somewhat painfull landed.

"It doesn't have to eat me, I can fall off and die," she pointed out in a matter-of-fact kind of tone, putting her hands on her hips in a very "mother-scolding-child" manner. She didn't want to smile or laugh, but she did anyways, still declining his offer. But apparently he wasn't going to back down. In a huff, Abby dropped her books and walked toward him. She put one foot on the board and reached her hand out for his so she wouldn't slide away just yet.
"I hate you a little bit," she joked with a wink and a grin. She pulled her other foot up onto the board, immediately swaying and nearly having the board escape from her. The shoes on her feet definitely were not good for skateboarding, but at least she had pants on instead of the school uniform skirt. If she fell, she wouldn't completely tear her knees apart. "Okay, now what, genius?" Abby asked playfully.

Guy scowled at her, jokingly of course, as she went into mother mode, placing her hands on her hips and giving him the look. He grinned though, laughing softly as he said, " No, really, I won't let you fall off. " He didn't think that would be all to reassuring to the girl coming from the guy had just fallen down a flight of stairs. " Honestly, nothing to worry about. " He said, looking down pointedly to the skateboard, waiting for her to cave as he guessed she would. " Thank you. " He added as she tossed her books down and walked over.
As she got on the board Guy was standing in front of her so he could tell her what she should doing. His hand held on lightly to hers so she wouldn't wobble off and fall, just as he had promised he wouldn't let her do. " Just relax... and don't hate me. I just might let you fall. " He joked with a small smirk on his face. It quickly melted away into his carefree grin, though as she asked him what now. Genius. He laughed slightly, looking down to the board. " Well, now you would use your right foot to propel yourself forward. " He couldn't think of something to call her at the last second, so he just smiled.
