"You...let me fall, I swear I'll hurt you," Abby retorted. Her grip on Guy's hand tightened out of fear as she held herself more steady on the skateboard. She didn't think he was actually going to let her fall, but odds were she would fall some stupid, awkward way and he wouldn't be able to catch her. That was just her luck.
Slowly, the girl turned her left foot forward and her right foot went on the ground. She pushed lightly, feeling the board jerk underneath her feet. Abby yelped and wobbled, latching both hands onto Guy before she fell. "See?" she asked him, "I'm going to die on here and it'll be your fault." The Gryffindor girl smirked at the boy, catching his eye and finding herself lingering with his gaze. When she realized what she was doing, Abby turned her head away from him. Her cheeks flushed again but she made herself focus on the skateboard.

He scoffed at her comment, trusting (mostly) in his ability to be able to catch her if she did fall. Even with the added inches from standing on the skateboard, Guy was still taller than her, not to mention the fact that she was tiny in general. Her grip was strong on his hand, though and he did his best to prevent the board from moving too much before she was ready for it to move. " Deal. But I won't let you fall, so don't go planning your revenge just yet. " He teased lightly, his eyes going down to her feet as she moved them around slightly, pushing off a little haphazardly with her right foot.
As she almost fell over Guy's free hand reached up to hers, holding her steady and upright after a few seconds. Once she had regained her footing, Guy laughed at her comment, shaking his head once again. " Yah, death of a Gryffindor in the Entrance Hall, I can see it now. " He joked, looking back down to her feet and saying, " Okay. When you push off this time, do it gently at first. Just move a little bit to get used to it. " He missed the forming of the blush, and as he looked back up to meet the girl's eyes he noticed her turn away slightly. " Ya alright? " He asked, wondering if she was just nervous about falling.

Smirking, Abby kept her eyes down and focused on what she was trying to do. She liked that he joked with her, even if she actually was terrified of falling. Guy made the whole skateboarding ordeal seem a little less scary and the fact that he was actually holding her hand made her feel a whole lot better. "Yeah, I'm okay," she lied quickly with a smile, not wanting to divulge to him how cute she thought he was, "Just trying to not die." Abby chuckled again softly, listening to his advice and trying it again.
Her foot touched the ground and she pushed off slower than the first time, bending her knee as she did so. The wheels turned slowly, but didn't jerk this time. The Gryffindor pushed again, speeding up just a little bit but keeping a nice, slow pace. Her eyes traveled back up to Guy, only now realizing how much of a giant he was compared to her. Then again, standing at 5'3", everybody was a giant. The skateboard hadn't made much difference in the height between them and her eye level was right at his chest. When she tilted her head up at him, she smiled. She was sure why, but she did. But then she started to wobble again and turned her eyes down. "How am I doing?" she asked jokingly.

Guy noticed a couple of people walking by staring at them as Abby stood precariously perched on the board, Guy holding her hands up to steady her. He imainged that they did look a little weird, still in their school uniforms and learning to skate. Or teaching, in Guy's case. He didn't pay the people any attention, looking back down to her feet. She had the stance right, she just needed to work on the not gonna die part of things. " You're doing fine, not falling off as you can see. " He reassured her with another smile. The thought struck him that he didn't exactly know what year Abby was in. She looked mature enough to be a sixth year, but small enough to be a fifth.
" What year did you say you were in? " He asked curiously, his light brown eyes reaching chocolate brown ones. He didn't really know and didn't want to guess and be incorrect by his assumption. He walked along with her, still holding her hands lightly to steady her, as she rolled the skateboard along the ground slowly. She was doing pretty good for claiming to fall off and die. " Good, you're doing good. " He said, walking along at a slow pace as she kept moving. " So you've never skateboarded before, then? "

"Nyeh," Abby replied to his comment, sticking her tongue out. She knew she was safe, especially with him right there, but claiming to fall and die was half the fun of trying something new. She continued to skate along, pushing slowly as he asked her about what year she was in. Abby couldn't remember actually mentioning it, but it didn't really matter. "I'm in fIFth year," Abby replied, the word "fifth" being interrupted as she wobbled, "Whoopsie." The girl giggle softly, keeping her footing as she continued to skate.
"I've done it once or twice before, but this is the longest I've stayed upright," she admitted with another giggle and a grin, "So far, you've been the best teacher."

For someone who had only done it once or twice before, she was doing good. Sometimes it took people three or four times just to get a hang of it. Guy looked down, making sure she would get tripped up by a random something on the ground. It was always the worst when you tripped over a rock whle skateboarding. He walked along with her still, giving a low chuckle as she said ' fifth ' in a strange way due to being a little bit wobbly on the skateboard. " Fifth year, really? " He asked, a little taken aback. She wasn't that much younger than him, but he just figured her to be a sixth year. It wasn't really much of an issue to him, they were just hangin' out anyway. Guy had friends in youngers years, so a two year age gap in friends didn't bug him.
" Hmm, thanks. " He said, slowly loosening her grip on his hands as his eyes caught hers again. " Okay.. I'm gonna let go in about three seconds. Just keep going, and I'll walk right in front of you like I am now. " He grinned, letting her hands slip out of his own. He was sure she would do fine, and part of skating was learning to do it on your own. He cast a glance to the people who had been looking at them minutes before and grinned sheepishly.

"Quiet, you," Abby said replied cheekily when he questioned her year. She knew she didn't look like a fifth year; she was too tiny to be 15, almost 16 years old. In height, anyways. She wasn't "underdeveloped" in any sense, she was just really short. Sometimes it was good being that short because it helped when she needed to sneak around and hide. But it sucked when her guy friends, much taller than her, could put their hand on her head and hold her an arm's length away when she tried to attack them.
Groaning slightly, Abby really didn't want Guy to let go. For a second, she kept her grip firm on his hands until he started to let go. Eventually, she let go too and peddled along slowly with her arms out, trying to keep her balance. Abby kept rolling along on her own, trying to go a little faster. But then it got scary and she reached out for Guy again. "No, no, no, come back!" she begged, scrambling to reach him as she started to topple forward.

Guy was just a little surprised for some reason by hearing that she was a fifth year. He shrugged it off though, not really minding the fact that she was two years younger than him. She was cute and mini to Guy because of her height and he grinned down at her as she told him to shush up. " I'm just sayin'. You're kind of... short. " He teased, wrinkling up his nose slightly as he said ' short. ' It didn't take more than two seconds, though, before his smile returned. He loved joking around with people, teasing and just having a good time. And when it came to girls, Guy didn't mind flirting. It was fun and harmless in most cases.
He stood back for a second, standing still as he watched Abby skate on a few feet before flailing her arms around a little and yelling for him to come back. Guy quickly jogged forward, moving in front of her and trying to steady her by grabbing her hands once again. " What'd I tell you about falling over, eh? " He chided to the girl, a teasing grin falling into place as he attempted to keep her from falling.

"What did I tell you about letting me do this on my own?" Abby shot right back, wrinkling her nose and sticking her tongue out at the boy with a giggle. The Gryffindor was starting to get a little more comfortable with the boy and didn't mind flirting with him. He was doing it right back so Abby assumed it wasn't bothering him. Guy was super cute too which only made the flirting come more natural.
Once she was steadied again, Abby looked up at Guy with a teasing scowl. "I am not short," she argued, starting to peddle again with Guy safely beside her, "I prefer 'vertically challenged'." Abby stuck her tongue out at him again and laughed to herself. Her mother was a tiny woman too, so there hadn't been much chance of Abby growing to any incredible height. "The only reason I seem short is because you're gigantic," Abby commented, craning her neck excessively in a joking manner so she could look up at the older boy, "Do you get a lot of nose bleeds way up there?"

" Hm.. " Guy hummed, rolling his eyes up as if he was searching for what she had told him. " I believe you said... " He trailed off, shaking his head with laughter before going on. " I think you said, grumble grumble, I'll kill you... Grumble grumble. " He said, doing a little imitation of Abby, his tone joking still. He wouldn't really make fun of her to be mean or a jerk, but it was fun to be teasing and flirty. " Then a bit more of the ' if I fall, you're dead. ' Although... I don't really see how you could really do much to me all the way down there. " He mentioned, turning his head to look down at the girl, poking more fun at her height.
If she minded too much he would have stopped, leaving her alone about it, but she was teasing him just as much as well, so he guessed she wouldn't care. He chuckled at her comment of ' vertically challenged. ' Wondering that if she was vertically challenged, then did that make Guy vertically advanced? He grinned at the thought and noticed the fifth year looking up at him, asking if he got a lot of nose bleeds up there. Ha. " Naah. It's a lot warmer up here, though, I'd suggest you try it. Oh wait... " He paused, letting a small frown work its way onto his face. " You can't. " He grinned again, walking along as Abby rolled forward a little on the board.
" Feel like you can give it another go on your own? " He asked, looking back down to his skateboard under the girl's feet.

"Ahaha, you're hilarious," Abby replied so sarcastically the words were practically dripping with it. She shot him a playful glare. She had a feeling this was going to turn into one of those "all we do is make fun of each other" kind of relationships, but Abby didn't mind. Guy was cute and funny, which made him all the more appealing. Abby was definitely going to look forward to seeing more of him.
"First of all," Abby started again, her tone matter-of-factly once again, "Air is colder at higher elevations, genius. And second, I can do plenty from down here." Her eyes flicked down to his stomach and she sucker punched him in the side. It wasn't very hard, more like a playful nudge, but it was still a warning that it could get worse. She smiled sweetly up at him again, but frowned at his next comment. "No, I'd rather break the board over your head, you big bully," the girl teased with a laugh. Slowly, she started letting go of his hands again and stayed steady. Another group of students walked past them, giving the two a dirty glance for skateboarding inside, but Abby didn't really care. She was having fun for the first time in what seemed like forever.

The teasing and the joking, it was good for Guy. He was shocked that he had found such good company from falling down an entire flight of stairs.
" I am quite hilarious, thank you, " He said to his tiny friend. He was beginning to think that it would be fun to call her that, his ' tiny friend. ' Really, she wasn't that small but Guy just happened to be pretty tall. Abby was good company, and not to mention, she was doing alright at the skateboarding thing too. As she continued on about higher elevations being colder than lower ones, Guy had to admit that she got him on that one. " I didn't even think about that... " He said honestly with a laugh. " Like what? " He asked teasingly, only to receive the answer in a light fist in his side. " Ooph. " He said, flinching away from her touch even though it was light and playful. " Ouch. " He said, frowning down at Abby and rubbing the spot where she had punched him, pretending it hurt.
He lessened his grip on her hands, just as she did the same with his, and slowly she started to skate on her own. " If you break the board, what would you skate on? Besides, you're doing good. " He mentioned with a smile, standing still and watching as Abby continued to skate forward while he remained behind.

"Aw, big man can't take being punched by a little girl?" Abby teased when Guy started pretending she'd actually hurt him, "Poor baby." The girl giggled playfully and turned her attention back to the task at hand. She still didn't really like the idea of not holding Guy's hands while she did this, but it was worth another try.
"I'd skate on nothing and be a lot happier," she joked back with another chuckle, pushing herself along slowly. In front of her, the stairs Guy had fallen down were starting to get closer and she wondered how she was supposed to stop this thing. "Uh oh," she grumbled, rolling up to the last step. In a panic, Abby leapt clean off the board and landed on the stairs. However, she had been going forward a little too fast and ended up falling onto her hands, bum high in the air. Ducking down, Abby looked at Guy through her legs and smiled. "I don't think that's how you're supposed to do that," she laughed, making herself upright once again and running her hands through her hair. She put her foot on the board and pushed it back in the direction Guy was standing.
"Well, that was fun," Abby told Guy with another warm smile.

Guy slid his hands into his pockets, watching Abby skate ahead of him on her own, an accomplished smile holding steady onto his face. " You're the one claiming to not be little. " He pointed out to her with a small nod of his head at her giggles. For someone who claimed to die anytime on a skateboard, she was doing well. " If you skated on nothing you'd be standing still. And how boring would that be? " He countered to her, slowly starting to walk forward where she was headed. Expecting her to turn or to stop by herself, Guy didn't really anticipate Abby to literally jump off of the skateboard and onto the stairs.
He stood, a little shocked and amused, agreeing, " No, I think you're supposed to just put your foot down and stop moving. But I think I like your way better. " He said, stopping the board with his foot and picking it up as he walked back over to her. " See? And you didn't die. Fell a little bit, but didn't die. "

"Yes, yes, I didn't die, O Great One," Abby fluffed him off with a flick of her hair and then chuckled. She watched Guy pick up the board and she looked around him to see where her books were. She'd dropped them back over where they had started skating and then forgot about them. Abby groaned slightly, wishing they weren't so far away. She pulled her wand out of her pocket and flicked it quickly thought, watching as the books sailed over to her hands. The summoning charm was the first magical talent she had shown as a child, so the "accio" spell was an easy one for her. Putting the wand back in it's place, she turned to face her new friend.
"Thank you," she said sincerely with a smile, "For teaching me how to skateboard...and for enduring the teasing." Another giggle escaped Abby's lips and her chocolate brown eyes looked up to Guy's. Up close, they were even more beautiful than she'd noticed before. The Gryffindor girl had been concerned with not falling and she hadn't noticed the other times she looked at him. Smiling, Abby bit her bottom lip and decided to take a chance. "Hey do you...do you wanna go to dinner together?" she asked him, getting a little shy again.
