Dragos sat on his board impatiently, feeling like an idiot and looking like one too. The stairs had been a bit of a challenge, and Dragos ended up just jumping up the last few, as he had given up trying to roll up them.
As Charlie wheeled him into the Hospital Wing, Dragos practically jumped off the board, despite the pain. His sock and shoe were now nicely stained with blood, as was the bottom oh his pant leg. "Lovely," he grunted, inspecting it. He was thankful he hadn't been wearing his favourite jeans, or else that would have really sucked.
Sitting down on one of the beds, Dragos looked around the Hospital Wing. He hadn't been in there yet, and he wasn't all that thrilled about being there now. But he was at least glad that Charlie came with him. It would have been worse if either of them had to come up by themselves. "How are we supposed to explain this to the nurse?" Dragos asked, motioning to his leg.

"I dunno..." Charlie said a little loosely. She wasn't losing too much blood, but the throbs make her mind feel expanded and out there. "Maybe that you fell back on some spiky things? Mine's easier to cover up." Anyone could fall back, hit their head on the edge of a door, and bleed, right?

"On some spikey things?" Dragos questioned with a raised eyebrow, "I doubt that'll go over well. Maybe you hit your head a little harder than you thought." Dragos looked at Charlie, and expression of real concern on his face now. She should probably sit down while they waited for the nurse or someone to come, but he knew that she wouldn't do it on her own terms. She seemed to be a fighter.
"You know, you should probably take a seat," Dragos suggested, more as a command than a suggestion.

"I'm fine where I am, man," Charlie said, though she opted to lean back on the wall. She felt a bit tired now, but in her head it didn't seem like a big deal. She had dealt with other cuts, gashes, scrapes, and bruises. A little head wound wasn't scaring her.
"I guess that won't work," she responded. "But how do you explain the fact that we blasted a door to some weird room where some weird dog bit you?" She wasn't going to hand over he prefect badge anytime soon.

"You're not going to get in trouble for anything," Dragos pointed out, "You didn't do anything wrong. It was me that did the blasting." Lying back on the propped up bed, Dragos sighed, wondering how he was going to talk his way out of this one. Of course, he was going to do whatever it took to keep Charlie out of trouble, for she really didn't do anything wrong except listen to him. No, there wasn't a chance he was going to let her get in trouble.
"We could just try telling the truth..." Dragos suggested, but then added, "Well...not the whole truth..."

Charlie thought about his option and nodded slowly. "Could work... We could just say we found a random dog and it bit you and ran away. We ain't gotta say where it was or nothing..." She was fine with it.
She felt the back of her head again and saw some fresh blood over the dried remains. "I think I'll sit down..." She slid down a chair.

"Jesus, you need a nurse right now," Dragos said, almost angrily as Charlie finally sat down. He swung his legs over the side of the bed so he was facing her, and stood up. Dragos hobbled over to Charlie and squatted in front of her. "Can you still see OK?" he asked her.

"Still 20/20," Charlie said, and tried to regain her breathing again. Her tiredness was nothing more but restlessness. She didn't know why she had to be here. "It's no big deal," she added, and tried to stand up but she started to feel just a tad sick so she went back to sitting down. "We gotta worry 'bout you, dude. What if that dog had a rabies or something? Or maybe a wereworlf? You're not a werewolf, right?"

"Well, I'm not foaming at the mouth yet, nor do I have the urge to kill you and rip out your throat, so I think I'll be OK. This will heal. You could have done something really bad to your head," Dragos was getting really concerned now. He watched as she tried to stand, but sat right back down, "Yeah, see this? Not good."
Standing up again, Dragos was worried about leaving Charlie alone for too long, but he figured that yelling out for the nurse was probably not going to be a good choice. Dragos ran his hand through his hair, trying to figure out what he was going to do. Where was everybody?

"What seems to be the problem?" Kellen asked in his most professional tone. He was just making his way into the Hospital Wing for the afternoon. He didn't know where the nurses were, but they were probably out making common-room calls or something. It was unusual to see the Hospital Wing unattended, though. "I'm not sure where everybody is, but I'll help with what I can. So what's happened?"

Charlie was well on her way to snap at Dragos herself when Kellen came up. She was thankful. She wasn't sure how much time she wanted to spend on being babied about a little head wound. "Er, yeah... Hit my head, and Dragos got bit-- should I lay back or just sit down?" She was surprisingly productive for someone trying not to border on shock.

Charlie seemed to be putting on a bit of a front, and seemed to be more injured than her speech was letting on. "Head injury, huh," he mused for a moment. "Here, let me adjust the bed so it's half-sitting half-lying," he narrated as he did it. There was a good sized cut on her head. "Okay, hold on right there, okay?"
He went to get some gauze for her head. "Here, now hold this against your head to slow any new bleeding while I figure out what else we need to do, okay? Oh, and what happened to you then, Dragos?"

"I..err...uhh..got bit. By something," Dragos stuttered, although he was actually telling the truth. He just didn't know how much of the truth he was going to have to tell. "It might have been a dog, or something," he continued, trying to sound as normal as possible. The shock of it all had started to wear off, and the pain was coming through. A searing stab shot through his leg suddenly and he stifled a gasp at the sudden burst.

Kellen furrowed his brow. There was a dog that attacked and bit people somewhere in the castle? That really wasn't good; he'd have to report that to someone so it could be found. "Here, sit, sit down," Kellen instructed, pointing Dragos to the bed next to Charlie's so he could work with both of them. "Are you sure it was a dog? It's important to know what kind of animal, it'll help with healing the wound. What did it look like?"

Dragos glanced sideways at Charlie as he sat down on a bed again, but decided to solider on. "Well, it was sort of dark," Dragos admitted, "Couldn't really see anything except a paw. It growled at us...I guess it was a dog." The Croatian teenager really wished he had more information to give to his peer, but there was really nothing else to tell. It had just been too dark to see anything.
