"Still don't mind being around me too much?" Delilah shook her head and laughed, "Dear Cole, there's no one I'd rather be with right now." She said in a sweet voice, meaning every word, and her smile said it all. She simply grinned at the heart comment, because she had been told the same thing by her father the very same thing on more than one occasion.
Delilah simply nodded when Cole asked her if she thought it was beautiful, and indeed she did. Delilah listened to him intently, glad that he was so open in sharing his thoughts with her. The small girl looked at him once he was done, and smiled. She loved just looking at him sometimes, and she often got lost in him. She knew there was so much to be said about this boy, but she was just happy to be his friend. She loved the way he described what this place meant to him, and decided that it was a sign of character. Surely if he felt this way about one thing, he most likely would feel the same about other things.
Delilah sighed and looked back to the sky, just as enlightened as her companion was, "What I'd really like to do is fly..." She said, letting her eyes close as she imagined herself in the night sky, up in the clouds and totally at peace with herself and the world. She had to come back to reality though, it was rare for her that it was better than her dreams. "So you've never brought anyone else up here?" She asked Cole, hoping that tonight would be a night she really got to know him well.

Cole couldn't possibly feel any better than he did when Delilah answered his question with such sweet words. Cole had the feeling he was falling for this girl and he wasn't falling slowly."Thanks for saying that Delilah...not a lot of people would go as far as to say something like that for me." He said sincerely. She has me hooked and I don't wanna get unhooked Cole thought. He continued to look at her and couldn't help but smile.
Cole caught Delilah's slight nod to his question of the places beauty and continued to smile at her. This smile is for her...Cole thought. After . In the moments after his thoughts Cole poured his heart out to Delilah. He told her exactly how he felt about this place. He couldn't help but ramble on and on to this girl, she was really the only person he had ever met who truly understood him for who he was."Thanks for listening to my little rant...I hope I haven't bored you to much." Cole said to Delilah. He couldn't help but hold his gaze on her for a little while as he waited to see what she would think.
He was so happy just to be sitting beside her while they looked at the beauty before them. At that his companion spoke up and said "What I'd really like to do is fly..." just loud enough that it left the idea sitting in Cole's mind. He felt really close to her in that moment and just sat in silence for a second before responding. "I've never flown before...not like out in the open anyways...its something I would love to do but have never had the chance...I would love to do it someday..." he trailed off letting the night air settle between them. He answered her next question honestly. "Never have I brought someone up here...I have never really met anyone who I felt like they deserved to know me for me, most people just know me at face value and see nothing else so I don't bring them into a part of who I am." As he finished he looked over to Delilah and said three more words. "Except for you."

Delilah smiled, "Who wouldn't say something like that for you?" She asked, wondering who wouldn't say sweet things to a boy as sweet as he was. Surely if they got to know him as she was, they'd think the same of him. However, at the same time she really didn't want anyone else knowing him as well as she did. Delilah laughed and shook her head, "Cole, you really shouldn't worry so much about how much you talk, just be yourself." She said, returning his genuine smile. She was just really happy to be here with him.
Delilah looked back up at the stars, really missing her broom right about now. "Well, I'll just have to take you with me next time we're at Hogwarts." She said, glad that he was interested, and maybe then she could show him her favorite thing to do, and favorite place to be. "I'm glad you think I deserve to know you Cole, honestly, it's been a real privelage." She said, gald he was taking a liking to her. Delilah could honestly say that she was falling for this guy, Cole Bartlet. She looked back out to the horizon and sighed, "It really is amazing, I'm glad you brought me." She said truthfully, more than happy to be here.

"My parents...my supposed friends...nobody ever really has anything good to say about me." Cole said quietly. What Delilah didn't know about him yet was that he came from a house where his parents didn't care one way or another if he even lived there anymore and all he wanted was to move out of it. "I don't know what your life is like at home..."Cole trailed off for a second contemplating if he should share this with Delilah but couldn't find a reason not to so he continued on "but mine really isn't good...neither of my parents even care where I am or when I get home or any of that normal stuff parents are supposed to care about." He took a deep breath and waited to see what Delilah had to say.
"Cole, you really shouldn't worry so much about how much you talk, just be yourself." Was all that he heard from Delilah and he couldn't help but smile. Nobody made him feel at ease like she did. For once I'm happy just to be real and happy just to be me. He looked at her and straightened his hair out of his face."Thanks for just letting me be me." He said calmly. His feelings were stirring and he loved what they were telling him.
Cole scooted a little bit closer to Delilah's spot on the rooftop. He drank in her every breath and movement and just completely focused all of his attention on her. Everything she had to say made him feel like he was on top of the world. She never once tore down who he was or how he acted. "Theres nobody else I would rather be here with right now...and thanks for building up who I am so much...you really have freed me from my own thoughts, thanks Delilah...I hope you don't mind if I ask but whats your home life like, and what concert would you like to see?" Cole asked. He finished it with a little wink.

"Oh..." Was all Delilah could muster to say when Cole spoke illy of his family and friends, or rather lack of them. She didn't really know what to say to that, because although her and her mother neve really got along, she'd always had her dad and never felt alone. Delilah nodded when he further explained his situation, at least now she understood. "Well I can't say I know how you feel, however I'm here for you whenever you need someone." She said with tender care, looking deep into his eyes. Delilah continued to look at Cole, not with a look of pity but friendship. "Maybe they've just been through something hard?" She offered, hoping he wouldn't be too offended.
Delilah nodded, "I wouldn't ask anything else from you Cole, I want to get to know the real you, you don't have to hide who you are." She said smiling up at him, and watched as he fixed his hair. She giggled and shook her head, "Honestly Cole, you're pushing your hair back so often, isn't it annoying?" She asked teasingly, hoping that he would take her joke, well, jokingly.
Delilah swung her legs slightly as she spoke, and felt Cole getting closer to her. She couldn't help but smile and blush a little as he listened so intently and watched her so carefully. "Oh well, my home life isn't so bad. My dad and I are the best of friends and do almost everything together, however... my mother and I don't see eye to eye..." She said, not sure if she was ready to tell Cole about how she didn't get along with her mom, but still she would tell him if the conversation called for it.
Delilah was slightly taken aback for a moment, "Wait... what?" She asked, now looking at Cole with questioning eyes. "What are you talking about?" She asked, a smile naturally forming because of her thoughts. Does he want to take me to a... a concert? She looked away from him, still smiling, "I've never been to any concerts before..." She said, feeling like a geek. Delilah couldn't help but wonder why she'd never been to one, it wasn't as though she didn't like music, she even enjoyed singing if she had the time for it, but still, for someone who enjoyed music so much, she found it odd that she'd never gone to a concert before. But maybe, her first time going would be with Cole, and that would awesome.

"What are you talking about?" was all that Cole heard before breaking into a grin and asking his question again. "What concert do you want to go to Delilah?" Cole asked happily. He had been to a lot of concerts in his life however he had never been as excited to go to one as he was now. He was just hoping that Delilah would say yes and name off a good band for them to see. Needless to say Cole was really hoping she would say yes. "Oh and Delilah...I've never gone with a girl to a concert." Cole said turning a little bit red.
He looked at Delilah just taking in the curves of her face. "Who is your favorite band anyways he said?" hoping to make it less awkward for himself. He brushed the hair out of his eyes when the wind picked up just enough to put it in his face again. I swear I'm going to cut this off. He thought with a look of disgust. "Stupid hair of mine..." He muttered just loud enough that Delilah would hear him.

Delilah shook her head, "Maybe that means you're not supposed to go to a concert with a girl..." Delilah said, turning a bit red herself. As much as she'd love to go, she didn't know the first thing about music, and she didn't want to feel like a moron, especially around Cole. However, if Cole were to spring this concert thing on her one day, she wouldn't be opposed to it, just a little caught off guard, and very happy. Anything with him seemed to be an adventure, and she was really enjoying getting to know him. He didn't act like his age, no, he acted more mature than even some of the students in her year.
Delilah wasn't sure what to say when Cole asked her what was her favorite band, because she didn't really have one. "Oh, I like a... a couple..." She said, not really sure where this was going, because if he tried to tell her his favorite bands, she wouldn't know any of them. The small girl chuckled and let the hand nearest Cole reach up to grab the tip of one of his locks, "It's not stupid, it suits you!" She said happily, letting it go, back to flying in the breeze.
