Drew thought he might just be getting the hang of things at work. Oh sure, they were still sending him out for sandwiches, and last week someone had translated one of his reports into Mermish (he thought he might have climbed a little on the respect ladder for actually knowing how to translate it back), and there were still the errands that just happened to land him near that bum-pinching secretary, but he felt like he was doing well in his lessons-- well enough to get an almost smile from one of the senior Aurors in charge of his training. There was some talk about a set of raids coming up, and Drew was hoping he would get a chance to go. Maybe. If he was lucky.
He still felt like celebrating a little. It had been a good week, he had finished all of his reports early, and his plans for Halloween were coming together quite nicely. A butterbeer at the Cauldron was, in his mind, the perfect way to end a pretty decent week. The place was pretty empty and he ordered a drink and some chips at the bar before finding a table near the wall. With a long and happy sigh, he sat with his feet propped up and drank from the bottle slowly, just enjoying.

Rollo walked down the street in his usual attire. The solid blue scarf fluttering in the wind as his steps guided him to the Cauldron. Rollo preferred to walk after work for a few reasons. The first being it helped work off some of the drunk he may have worked up while in his office alone and secondly he immensely enjoyed the sounds and sights of a busy street. Painting them was a joy as it seemed almost real to him. The people seemed in motion, as if they were actually alive, and just not splayed on a canvas. Rollo finished the cigarette he had been working on and flicked it away aimlessly as he neared the Cauldron just another night at the bar. He'd be hitting it hard tonight. The pain in his ribs still existed and he needed it to disappear even if it was only for a few hours. Pushing open the door he entered heading straight for the bar but paused for a moment.
He saw him across the room and some sort of urge overcame him. Maybe it's the fact that Rollo didn't want to waste away to nothing alone or that he hadn't seen the boy since the day in his office but with some odd sense of purpose Rollo joined Andrew Thornton at his table in the Cauldron. He motioned to a waitress for ten shots giving the boy a small smile he greeted him with a wave of his hand.
"I hope you don't mind me joining you Andrew I could use the company for once. That and I haven't seen you since that day in my office. How have you been?"
Simple words and simple questions. They'd be followed with simple answers if he'd ask Rollo anything. It was safe and Rollo would stick with simple tonight that way hopefully nothing could go wrong.

"Rollo, how y'doing?" Drew asked, standing up just enough to reach across the table and offer his hand in greeting. "And it's Drew. My friends call me Drew." It occured to him that perhaps the older man might think he was too old to be friends with an 18 year old, but Drew really hoped not.
"Join me, please. I've been doing pretty good. I heard you crossed paths with my sister the other day," he said with a smile, retaking his seat but keeping his feet off of the neighboring chair.

It had been a complete accident, of course. It was late and Arianna had been busy getting Jadon ready to go home when the waitress had come to deliver an order to the couple in the next booth. As luck would have it, Jadon's coat was being as stubborn as the seven-month-old and didn't want to zip up as Jadon fought her mum. Arianna even tried enticing the child by telling her that daddy would be home tonight. It didn't work.
In frustration, Arianna stood up to take a deep breath and collect herself. Instead, she bumped the tray of food and turned just in time to get a good deal of gravy poured down the front of her blouse. It was hot and burned, but Arianna was more concerned about the waitress who had the better part of a full meal on her.
With her mum busy apologizing and trying to help the waitress clean up, Jadon took the opportunity to get away. She did NOT want to go home just yet because she had seen something playing over in the corner and wanted to investigate. With her mum not paying attention, Jadon quickly crawled across the room to the last place she had seen the interesting creature. What she found there instead, were two giant feet. They were certainly bigger than her mum's and just a little bigger than her daddy's. Jadon now found it much more fun to poke at the big shoes with her chubby little fingers and had forgotten what she'd come over here.

Rollo shook Andrew's hand curtly and sat waiting for his liquor. It was his day off tomorrow and work today had not been kind. Although as he felt his ribs he knew it had been much better then previous days. Sighing he held out on lighting a cigarette for the moment. As long as Andrew was with him he would attempt to do him the courtesy that he had not did him in his office. It was just now occurring to Rollo that his smoking might rub other people the wrong way. He was so used to solitude that other people's views and preferences on the subject just didn't come to mind at all. He knew his mother thought it was terrible so he avoided it around her but no one else because Rollo really didn't talk to other people all that much. Looking up though he gave Andrew a hopeless smile and shrug.
"I'm doing alright thanks and look mate it's nothing personal but I don't do nicknames never have and never will. Hopefully that doesn't mean we can't be friends."
Running his hand through his hair he smiled lightly as the shots came and downed five with one quick movement. His hand moving as a blur turning the glasses over as he finished each. Five remained but there was no need to hurry Rollo would be here until two at least. Sighing he remembered the day with Allegra and how wonderful she had been. It was odd she was really the first person to actually inquire about him in anyway shape or form. Luce would most likely do so on their date but it had been an awkward bump into and the fact that he had made a date was mind boggling. Was it a date though or was he over-analyzing. Shaking it from his head Rollo nodded showing that just because he got plastered every night didn't mean he forgot what happened the day before.
"Yeah I bumped into Allegra quite good to see her always a pleasure."
Rollo left it at that because he didn't know what Andrew's sister had shared with him. If he wanted to know more he could ask Rollo simple as that. After all there wasn't much to it they had tea and chatted that was all. Sighing he downed another shot and felt something odd on his foot. Was something wrong with him? Had the past three years of being beaten to a pulp by werewolves and now dragons finally caught up to him? That along with his bad habits at the Cauldron it would surprise him. Looking down though he saw a child and was a bit shocked. Rollo didn't know the gender but picked it up awkwardly and looked at Andrew quirking a brow.
"This kid yours mate because we both know, he I mean she I mean whatever gender the baby is, it isn't mine. You're a bit young though yourself for this aren't you? Unless of course you aren't then please take no offense."
Rollo continued to hold it awkwardly and then decided to just sit the baby on his lap. This was most likely the easiest, safest, and the most comfortable position for the baby. Looking quite hopeless Rollo wished dearly that someone would show their face and claim the child from him. Quite frankly he had no idea to do with it.

Drew didn't particularly go for formal names, and since it was his name under discussion, he had kind of hoped his wishes would have been respected. The only people who called him by his full name were people who had some sort of position above him. None of his friends called him Andrew and he really didn't like it now, but he chose not to push the subject. He'd bring it up again with Rollo later.
The subject of his sister came and went rather quickly, and while there really wasn't anything to expand on, the conversation was interupted by a tyke under the table. Drew hadn't even noticed the kid until Rollo leaned down and picked him up, narrowing his eyes in concern as the older man ducked under the table. His look turned to one of surprise when the interuption was reveiled.
"Not mine," Drew answered with a small snort, but of course he knew that technically he wasn't too young to have a kid that size. Franco's little boy was almost two and Franco was only a few months older than he was. Heck, with all the teenage parents that had made the news in the last couple of years, at nearly 19, he was falling behind.
Not that he was in any hurry to catch up. He had Felicity had hopes and dreams and having a kid was not part of that plan for a long time. There would be no Academy for him and no research in Kenya for Felicity if they went down that road. Kids would come, but not until they were both old enough to handle the situation properly.
While Rollo dealt with the squirmy baby, Drew looked around, wondering who would let a kid just wander off like that in a public place. It just didn't seem like something a parent would really do.

Arianna gave up trying to help. Well, not really gave up. It was more like the waitress, along with the customers who would now have to wait another fifteen minutes for their meal, had insisted she stop trying to help because every time she moved, Arianna was knocking something else over. The man now had fire whiskey down his robes and the woman had to jump out of the way when a puddle of pumpkin juice dripped onto her seat. Seeing that she was only making things worse, Arianna apologized for the fortieth time, opened her purse and dropped some money on a dry spot of table, hoping it would pay for the meal and their troubles. Fortunately the waitress knew a spell and had everything cleaned up in seconds, though Arianna still had a wet stain on her blouse. Her worry over that lasted for only a second before she realized Jadon wasn't anywhere near her.
Swearing to herself, Arianna glanced under the table and felt her heart sink and fear rise into her throat. This wasn't like the first time she and Nic and gone out without Jadon. Arianna had worried, of course, but knew Jadon had been in a good hands. Now she had no clue where the baby was or who she was with. She was still new at this mom stuff and everything got her nervous when it concerned her baby, but this was a new experience for Arianna and it literally scared her to death.
"Have you seen my baby?" she asked those around her. The waitress and the couple both shook their heads. They could see she was shaken up and offered to help, which Arianna was very grateful for. "She's dark....black, but with eyes like mine and black nappy hair, like an afro..."
And they were were off looking for the baby, interrogating other customers and looking under tables. It was the waitress who found her, sitting in the arms of one of their regulars.
"OVER HERE!"
Arianna rushed over and took Jadon up in her arms, practically crying over the little reunion. Though the baby couldn't have been gone for more than a few minutes, it had felt like a lifetime for her mum. Arianna had already been imagining what it would be like if she had to go home and tell Nic that she had lost their baby and it made her feel worse than she already did.
"Oh, thank you, thank you," Arianna called out to everyone who had helped, especially the waitress who had led her to Jadon. The man who had found the baby had even received a kiss on the cheek in the midst of Arianna's 'thank you's and 'I appreciate it's and little scoldings to the baby who didn't understand a word her mum was saying and must have found the whole thing entertaining because she was laughing and cooing and pointing at the two men sitting in the booth.

Rollo watched as the child moved around in his lap now trying to escape. He supposed that the child wanted to explore more and poke something now that wasn't him. Sighing he gazed at the child wanting to let it go but decided it wasn't in it's best interest to be crawling around the floor of the Leaky Cauldron. After all such a thing could prove dangerous for such a small child especially since business was starting to pick up. Looking up at Andrew he shrugged hopelessly knowing by the snort that the boy didn't have any children what so ever.
"Well thought I'd ask mate, wonder whose it is then."
Rollo's question though was answered in extremely short order though. As the baby squirmed more he saw first the waitress who identified it as some woman's child. That was obvious though of course it belonged to a woman who else could give birth. What happened next though was a surprise though as the woman appeared and then took her baby. That was not the surprise, the surprise for Rollo came when the woman planted a kiss on his check and his eyes widened in shock. He was not used to being kissed at all by anyone and the peck on the cheek took him by total surprise. Was it really appropriate in this situation? Sighing Rollo downed two quick shots and shrugged a bit hopelessly.
"It really wasn't anything your child was just kind of poking at my foot and I thought it would be best if it wasn't left on the floor."
It was the truth and he watched as the child pointed at him and Andrew. For what reason he had no idea but it didn't concern him all that much he supposed. Sighing at himself and his own social awkwardness and helplessness Rollo downed another shot hoping that he could somehow drink himself out of this situation. Rollo highly doubted such a thing was possible but did so none the less.

The situation was rather an interesting one in Drew's perception. Three former Ravenclaws, yet only one probably recognized them for who they were. Rollo had been a few years older and had kept mostly to himself while in the house, so even though he had been on the team, it was no wonder he didn't recognize the woman who had come up to them.
And Ari? She had changed in apperance a little bit, but not enough for Drew to keep from recognizing her. He knew who she was, had heard about Nic and the baby, but was pretty sure she didn't know who he was. After her run in with the Deva, he knew her memory had suffered. Drew wasn't sure whether she remembered him or not, but he was pretty sure she didn't remember Rollo.
Drew sipped his butterbeer quietly, letting the other two talk it out. He wasn't positive that the other two wouldn't remember each other, but he really didn't want to force any awkwardness by bringing it up. Heck, he wasn't even sure Ari remembered him, so he thought it would be best to lay low.

Hikaru looked around still sitting over daddy's shoulder as he entered into the pub. He and daddy had spent the day just having fun. Normally daddy had taken him around Diagon Alley just to do daddy's business, but today it had been Hikaru's days, and he was way happy for that. Though at this point of the day daddy did not look as cheerful as him.
The boy looked everywhere as daddy started talking with the owner of the place, probably talking about the same thing they both always talked about when daddy were there, thinks about the room or the food... BOOOORING. And then he recognized a familiar face.
"HOLAAAAA DUDE!!! HOLAAAAA!" He called out waving his hand hello to Drew and giggling excitedly. Then looked down at daddy and gave a soft slap at his head "Pa! Pa! Dude! Dude!!" he said almost jumping on the man's shouldres, as daddy was still busy talking with the other man and not paying attention at all.

Though the day has been good so far, he was now a little bit tired of carry the boy all around after being searching for a costume for the Halloween to come. Finally as they had reached the Leaky caldrum, carring a couple of bags on his hand, Franco could not think in a better end for the day that lie down on a bed.
Just entering the place he went straight to talk with the personnel about the meal and the room to have a little rest before continue their travel. But then the baby got excited about something again, and as usual tried to catch his attention and show him his new discoveries.
"Un ratito! wait!" He said as took the little boy's hand, the one that was slapping his head, and tried to end his conversation without interruption. But as the boy did not seem to calm down till receive the proper attention, Franco turned his head.
"OK! que pasa?... what?" he said as kindly as he could while looked up at the boy and then his eyes stared at where the boy's hand was pointing. He recognized Drew at once, but as saw him with other people around, he hushed the boy silent as they might be interrupting some kind of meeting.
"Don't do that... Tio Drew esta ocupado!" He tried to explain to the boy.

"No, really, thank you. I don't know what I would do if...." Arianna let the sentence hang, not wanting to finish the thought out loud. She didn't want to seem like a bad mum, but sometimes things happened and you couldn't always keep your kid within sight. She had learned that in the first few weeks after Jadon's birth, when she'd wanted the baby near her at all times. It was really difficult to take care of everyday things if you couldn't let yourself set your baby down for a little while.
Thanking the man one more time, Arianna turned back toward her abandoned booth to collect her things and head home. In three, two, one....she halted, one foot in midair. With her head cocked to the side, Arianna turned back to the table, blue eyes falling on the other man sitting at the table. Her face scrunched up slightly. He looked so familiar, but quite a bit had changed in nearly a year and a half and she wasn't so sure she had the right name.
"Drew?" she questioned, bouncing Jadon on her hip as she stood there, thinking maybe she was only hoping too much to see an old friend and that she was imagining what she saw.

Rollo was caught up in the moment but hardly in the right way. Sitting Rollo down the remaining shots and motioned for more listening to the girl thank him again. It was nothing as he had said before he was just doing what he would hope someone would do if he was the baby. The Leaky Cauldron was not a friendly floor to be on. Sighing Rollo felt crowded and felt a bit more crowded when the girl recognized Andrew. Great what were the chances it wasn't enough that he was feeling crowded already but now he would sit awkwardly through the conversation that ensued.
It got worse though because as the waiter was bringing more shots for him he saw another small child this one waving at their table. Did he know Andrew to? How popular was this kid? With a sigh Rollo saw the father of the child turn and stop his son and Rollo was relieved for the moment. No more people were needed at the moment to pitch in on the feeling of claustrophobia he was feeling. Rollo knew he may be speaking a bit to soon so he began to do the only thing that would make him socialable in this situation. With that he began doing the shots like they were water and hoping for the best from the situation.

"Hey, Ari. How y'doing?" Drew answered with a friendly nod and an easy smile. He was a little surprised she actually remembered him especially since they hadn't really spoken in over a year and a half.
He didn't have much time to contemplate it though, since he heard a small but familiar voice calling out what only Drew would recognize as his name. He looked over towards the bar and broke out into a wide grin, nearly laughing at the added irony of the situation. Yet another Ravenclaw had entered the scene... another birdbrain that in all likelyhood would not remember the former housemates in front of him. Rollo might recognize Franco, but they had only been in school together for a year or two. Of course, it would probably be hard not to remember the kid with the blue hair.
"Oy! Paquito!" Drew called out, pointing at the little kid who was waving at him. It was a house reunion and probably only Drew realized it. If they could grab Kellen, Hiro, and Allegra, it would have been a regular party just like old times. "Hey, Franco! What are you guys doing over here?"

As Drew addressed to him, Franco relaxed a little bit though still felt a little uneasy for have interrupted the reunion, however the fact that Drew had replied was a good sign that perhaps that was just a social gathering and not some important meeting where they were breaking into.
"Ermm... Hi!" he replied back with a shy smile, and after hesitate for a second he decided to walk toward the little group, just to not look rude at his friend. "Just went shopping" he said holding up the couple of bags he had on his hand which clearly had the logo of a costume store "It will be our first Halloween together" he explained to Drew in short term with a little of embarrasement on his voice as he did not want to take over the previous conversation they were having before his arrival.
"Hi... uhmm... Good Afternoon!" he greeted Drew's companions with a little bow of his head, then put the bag on the floor and took his son down to his feet so the baby could greet Drew propperly.
