Lily was waiting for Drew, leaning against a big oak tree, half asleep with her eyes shut. She had a picnic basket next to her and she had thrown her swimming suit on under her clothes (one can never be too prepared). She probably shouldn't have stayed up so late and she tried so hard to stay awake but she couldn't.

Drew sauntered out to where he had agreed to meet Lily. "Hey!" he called out as he spotted her under a big tree. Before she had much time to respond, he ran over to her, swiping a big handful of leaves as he went and sprinkled them over her head when he reached her.

By this time Lily was way to asleep to hear him. She was a small person. She needed sleep and a late night plus classes was enough to tire anyone out. So the leaves just settled gently on her sleeping figure. Drew was going to have to wake her up, or leave her dead to the world. But then he wouldn't get any of the food would he?

Drew could have very easily just taken the food, eaten it all and left Lily dead to the world. Instead he took another handful of leaves and dropped those on her as well, laughing lightly.

What was he trying to do? Bury her? Oh well. It was going to take more than this to wake her. While not as heavy a sleeper as Drew, just leaves was hardly going to do it. One fell down and tickled her nose though and she sneezed in her sleep, before muttering something to the extent of, "That tickles."

He took yet another handful of red and amber colored leaves and sprinkled them over Lily's head. "It's snowing... it's snowing!" he cried out softly as they fell on her face and arms.

Lily heard Drew's cry, but she must have been really tired. "It's July dad," she said. "It can't be snowing." She turned her head to the side, trying to get more comfortable against the rough tree bark. Apparently today it took a little more to wake Lily up. After all she was a sleeping angel.
((Payback! lol))

Drew wasn't in the least detered. He took great armful and threw it up in the air so that they all floated down on top of them. He really didnt' expect the last stunt to wake her up, but figured if she didnt' wake up soon, he'd go ahead and dig in the picnic basket to see what she had brought.

"Maybe you're right," Lily mummured to her dad. "But it's not cold snow." She could definately feel the leaves hitting her in her dream, though she couldn't figure out what exactly they were. Perhaps she would get buried after all. Then she could be a leaf monster.

"Jingle bells... Jingle bells..." Drew sang as he took another handful and let them fall on top of Lily. As a finishing touch, he took two large maple leaves and stck them behind her ears, making them stick up a little like antlers.

"Jingle all the way," Lily added. She slept on for a bit. "Why are we singing Christmas carols in July?" She mumbled to her dad. For someone who didn't like what was out of the ordinary, he sures was acting pretty strange, dream Lily thought. But the voice wasn't quite right and she couldn't figure it out.

"HO HO HO!" Drew cried out, taking more leaves and sticking them in her hair so that she looked like she was wearing a Statue of Liberty crown. "My country tis of thee...!" Drew belted out, putting his hand over his heart when he was done with the leaves.

This was too loud and woke Lily with a start. She turned to Drew. "You're not Santa," she said a bit confused and sleepily. She hadn't noticed all the various leaves upon her yet. "And what country is yours?" She added. Since when did Drew own a country? Now was mass confusion.

Drew had to laugh at her sleepy response. "And it's not July either," he answered, taking one last handful of leaves and sprinkling them over her head. "So you going to sleep all day or what? Because I could have napped in the common room."

"I was asleep?" Lily asked, stretching her arms. The movement of her arms caused the leaves to rustle and move and she looked down. "Where did all these leaves come from?" She asked looking up at Drew. "Did you put them here?" She was slow when she woke up alright?
