Lily wasn't going to ask him if he was alright. She couldn't, even though she wanted to so badly, she wanted a fight even less. But she was on the verge of asking him. She shoved the remaining bit of her sandwhich in her mouth so to avoid asking him.

"So, what else you got in there?" Drew asked, shaking off his mood. This was supposed to be a celebration of sorts and he was going to make sure he remembered that.

Lily opened it a crack. "Potatoes," she said. "Mashed. You can not go wrong with potatoes. Best vegatable on the face of the earth. Best fruit too." She added, even though it was not a fruit.

"It looks good," he said appreciatively, a small smile breaking on his face again. He hadn't been much in the mood for eating lately, but the fresh air and the delicious smells coming from Lily's picnic basket were getting him hungry. He picked up his sandwich and took a big bite, grinning at the taste.

"Well the elves are probably glad I'm out of their now," Lily said pulling out the potatoes. "They didn't much like me in their hair. I only helped with the dessert but I was sure a strict supervisor. I was like a little more of this and no not that much and," she laughed. "I really really don't think they liked it."

"Probably not," Drew answered, trying to get a better peek at what was in the basket still. He dipped a finger into the potatoes and licked it off before giving her a wide grin.

"Hey!" Lily said, but not before snapping the basket shut again. "Potatoes are not finger food! That's jello! And I'm not starting another food fight. I've done that before. That wasn't the best. You remember that?"

"With me?" Drew asked a little confused. He had had a number of food fights with a number of peole, but couldn't remember any with Lily. He reached for another swipe of potatoes just as Lily snatched them away from him.

"Not with you," Lily said. "With Cleo. You helped me clean up. Even though, I think we were still in a big fight. Not sure though. But remember, the potions professor let Cleo get off and made me clean up by myself only you came and helped." She set the potatoes back down and took a swipe herself. She shrugged. "What?" She asked. "I may as well."

"Oh, that..." Drew answered with a sour look on his face. He had never quite forgiven Cleo for letting Lily take the heat like that.

"Oh get off it," Lily said. "That happened a while ago. It's the past and you can't change it so why dwell on it?" She shrugged. "New motto I've recently taken about life. After beating the demons last night I did a lot of thinking in class today. Honestly it was my only method of staying awake. But I realized, they're only there because of my past."

"Get off what?" Drew asked, still frowning. He took another swipe at the potatoes with his finger and sucked on it thoughtfully. He knew he'd never treat a friend like that. Not on purpose at least.

"It wasn't Cleo's fault," Lily said. "Things were strange that whole day. It's hard to explain. I don't really think she had a choice or at least I hope not." She was quiet. Drew was making her feel like Cleo had betrayed her or something. Or like Cleo was a bad person. She didn't want to think that of her friends.

"You always have a choice," Drew answered back with a small shrug. The professor had been acting like a jerk. It had been all the more reason to contradict him and stay to do what was right. Drew was confident any student would have been given a little bit of lenincy in the matter... Cleo would have definitely gotten special consideration.

"Something I'm still learning," Lily said quietly. She had been making a lot of big decisions lately - most of them hard. But they were the right ones. She choose not to voice this however and took a another swipe at the potatoes.
