"You must have been asleep for a long time," Drew told her, shaking his head at her sadly, neither confirming or denying that he had done it.

"No food til I get a confession," Lily said, quickly grabbing the picnic basket causing more leaves to fall. It was her bargining chip and there was only one thing that would make her give it up (besides a confession). But she wasn't about to let on how very ticklish she was. That wouldn't be a smart idea.

"Confession of what?" Drew asked innocently, though he knew exactly what she wanted him to own up to. Still, it was just some silly leaves as part of a game and not as big of a deal as all that.

"Who stole the cookie from the cookie jar of course," Lily said, rolling her eyes with a teasing smile. "Who me? Couldn't be. You stole the cookie from the cookie jar." She rolled her eyes again. "No really, who did all this leafy business?" She asked him finally getting to the point.

"It's just leaves..." Drew answered, not seeing what the big deal was. Confession implied guilt and guilt implied wrong doing. He didn't see anything wrong with the leaf game and the more he felt backed into a corner, the more he he didn't want to own up to it.

"Alright," Lily said. "It is just leaves." She shook herself like a dog flinging the leaves all over. "See?" She said. "Just leaves. Nothing more." She felt around. "Well there's a stick too," she said holding it up. "But mostly just leaves."

Drew stepped back as she shook herself off, watching her carefully for any sign that she was still mad at him. Sure, it was a silly thing to get scolded over, but still, he didn't like it much.

"Hmm," Lily said, opening the picnic basket. "Why don't we just see what's in here?" She was trying on purpose to make Drew curious. She rummaged some more. "Yumm," Lily said. "That looks delicious. Shouldn't try it though. Probably not very good for your health." She rummaged about in the basket some more, leaves forgotten.

Drew sunk to the ground across the picnic basket from her, tucking his long legs around him. He hated feeling like a petulant little kid, but right now, that's what he felt like... a kid who had been caught doing something he shouldn't have.
The problem was, he wasn't sure what he had done, really.

"Carrot?" Lily asked, pulling out a long one with the green stuff still attatched. "Nah," she said, "I'm just kidding." She pulled out two hot beef sandwiches. "I didn't know if you like hot beef sandwiches or not." Lily said. "There's more food in here if you don't. The elves gave me lots."

"I like everything," Drew told her. "Except for beets.... and hagis. I could never get behind hagis." Eion had brought some into Ravenclaw once and it stunk up the whole tower.
Of course it probably wasn't any worse than what went into menudo and that was Drew's favorite.

"Alright," Lily said, taking a bite of her sandwhich. "Just wait for dessert. I helped the elves make it. I don't think they really liked that. They looked kind of frustrated. If an elf can look frustrated. I dunno, can they?"

"Sure they can," Drew answered with a shrug. "They get really frustrated when you get into their space."
"So what's for dessert?" he asked, craning his neck to see if he could peek into the basket.

Lily snapped the basket shut. "Not showing," she said with a grin. "You sleep well after last night?" She asked him, abruptly changing the subject. She didn't want him to know what was in the basket. It would ruin the whole surprise.

"Yeah..." Drew answered casually. He had been sleeping a little better lately, but he knew it would be a while before everything was back to normal.
... If it ever got back to normal.
He took the carrot Lily had discarded earlier and munched on it thoughtfully.
