Arianna bit her lip. She wanted to tell Drew there was no possible way she would let him do it, but with him standing nearly a foot taller than her, she could stop him without the use of her wand. That would certainly tick him off. She have to try something else to stop him from doing something obviously stupid (even though she had to admit it looked fun).
"Do we get to try after you?" the girl finally asked, looking eagerly (she hoped) at the skateboard.

"All my fault," Lily said. She stopped pacing long enough to look at Drew. "Fine," she said. "Fine I'll do it. I'll dance again. Just please stop. Don't go through with it. Not every horse is meant to be got up on again!" She wrung her hands worrying feircely.

"You can do what you want," Drew answered both girls at once. Jumping off the caretaker's hut had nothing to do with Lily dancing and everything to do with finishing what you started.
And if Ari wanted to jump after him, he had no problem with that. It would have been a different story if it had been the house back home though...

"Really?" Arianna asked, her eyes wide. She hadn't expected that answer from Drew and had to do some quick thinking before speaking again. "I think I'll try flying off the towers today after this. Always wanted to do that...Though maybe I should start here first, just to get a feel for it."

"I hope you remember your broom when you do," Drew answered, looking at Ari through narrowed eyes. He had a good idea what she was trying to do and it wasn't going to work on him this time.
With a quick glance over his shoulder to make sure he couldn't see Davenport coming, Drew climbed to the top of the woodpile and lept off, grabbing the edge of the roof. With a small grunt he swung himself onto the edge and sat down, letting his legs hang down. The view was definitely better up here and he could get a better feel of the jump and the landing from where he ws perched.

"Oh my goodness," Lily said, stopping for a moment to stare up at Drew and slap her hand to her forehead. "He's really serious. Oh my goodness. I can't watch." She covered her eyes with her hands. "I just know something bad is going to happen."

"It's better than not even trying, isn't it?" Drew asked Lily evenly. He had a small revelation and looked at Ari, smiling. "And I owe you an apology for being such a jerk about the tower thing last year." Somehow he TOTALLY understood what Ari had been thinking at that time.

"Why?" Arianna questioned. She followed Drew to the woodpile and climbed up after him. When she reached the top, though, she hesitated, not sure if she could jump to the roof as easily as Drew had.

"Because I get it now is all," Drew answered simply. If she wanted more of an explaination than that, she'd have to wait until later. "Hey, before you climb up here, hand me my skateboard?" he asked, nodding to where he had left it on the grass by the front steps.

"Not if you die it isn't!" Lily squeaked. "Please, please don't let him die," Lily whispered. "I need him to much. Why do I always have to be the one who screws everything up?"

Arianna stared at Drew. She was completely caught off guard by what he had said. He actually understood what she had gone through that day?
"Took you long enough," she said, a slight smile crossing her lips. Ah, but now she was stuck with a delemna. Keeping him safe AND happy. "But...isn't this kinda the same? You're sure this is safe and that I'll be fine trying it, too?"

"Just promise me that you'll let me go first, okay?" Drew asked. He had been in an odd frame of mind during the tower incident. Had it happened today, he might not have reacted in the same way.
Besides... the roof of the hut was a heck of a whole lot lower than that tower had been.

"Okay..." Arianna stared dumbly at the boy. Not knowing what had brought him here in the first place or why Lily insisted it was all her fault, Arianna couldn't see why he suddenly understood, now, what had happened forever ago.

"Grab my board," he reminded Arianna. He looked over at Lily who was obviously bothered by the whole thing and while part of him hated to see her upset, another part of him figured she shouldn't have brought it up if she didn't want it to happen. "If it bugs you that much, you don't have to watch, he called down to her. "Just go back to the castle."

"I can't just leave you here to die!" Lily said. "It would bother me even more up at the castle because I wouldn't be here. Oh what dilemna I am in. Oh bother." She bit her lip and settled herself on the ground. It was better than pacing forever.
