The good news was he had the rest of the night to figure out his 'Be Nice to Stoney' plan. And he sincerely wanted it to work for her sake even if all past history seemed to point to the fact that it wouldn't. He'd figure omething out. He was sure of it.
She grabbed him around his neck and he grinned at her, putting his arms around her waist and lifting her up so he and his big feet wouldn't trip over her while she tried to walk backwards.

Her brown eyes widened when he lifted her off the ground, that was most unexpected. Giggling softly, she smiled at him and bit her lip, she hadn't meant for him to carry her anywhere, she had just wanted to see his eyes.
"You can put me down if you want to, I don't mind walking," she told him so he wouldn't feel compelled to carry her. While she knew she wasn't heavy, she also knew she weighed in at the weight a person did, which was still heavy.

"I don't mind carrying," Drew answered back with a wide grin, still moving forward without putting her down. Of course, he didn't have the best hold on her at the moment which would probably make it difficult going up the stairs to the tower, but for the time being, he was okay.
Plus this way, he got a perfect view of her freckles.

"Really?" she asked hesitently. If he didn't mind carrying, she didn't mind being carried, but she knew his grip wasn't going to last very long with the way he had grabbed onto her. Smiling at him, she leaned forward and gently bumped her nose against his before deciding it would be all right to help him with his grip. Carefully, she wrapped her legs around him and tightened her arms around his neck.
Something was running through her mind, and while he hadn't said it outright, the way he talked made her think he did. "How do you know where the Gryffindor common room is?"

He felt it was kind of interesting having a girl wrapped around him like that, but he sure as heck wasn't about to argue. He smiled at the nose bump and got a better grip on her, now positive he didn't want to put her down.
"I know where all of the common rooms are," he answered her a little surprised at the question. Sure, he figured most kids might not but he had made sure to figure that bit out within his first couple of months at school. "I don't know all of the passwords though. Last time I had that information, my sister was Head Girl and she had left the list out somewhere where I could find it." Silly Allegra for putting it in her diary under her bed...

All the passwords? Staring at him in disbelief, she hoped he hadn't actually used all of the passwords, or even just one but his own. While she figured it was probably good to know them for whatever reasons, she wasn't sure about the reasons she could come up with. Perhaps in an emergency it would be good to know, but still...
"So the Fat Lady has reason to be wary of you, then?" she teased him. Perhaps there was good reason for her to not like him, especially if he'd had the password to the Gryffie towers and had tried to break in at one point or another.

"Wary? Of me?" Drew answered innocently, avoiding her eye as he grinned over her shoulder. Even when he had had the Gryffindor password (which had been more often than not over the last five years), the Fat Lady had been adamant about not letting him inside. Probably a reaction to the times he had tried to get in without the password. Drew thought it was slightly unfair, but understandable.

Raising an eyebrow at him, she wasn't sure if she liked his answer. There was reason. "You shouldn't answer a question with a question that doesn't give any information," she smiled at him. No, he didn't really need to answer her question, especially as she was just teasing him. "It makes people think what they are thinking is the truth. Sometimes that can be really bad."
Felicity thought she'd been doing pretty good to that point, being that close to him and not kissing him. But, she kind of wanted to kiss him again. Touching her nose to his, she smiled at him and let her eyes connect to his. Yes, she wanted to kiss him, but she didn't. Instead, she wanted to see how long it would annoy him if she stayed like that, without moving out of his line of vision.

Drew smirked back at her, knowing that the whole point of answering a question with another question waas to keep from giving any information. If done properly, you never confirmed or denied anything.
He stopped in his tracks, partially because he couldn't see where he was going with her face in his like that, partially because she was nose-bumping him again and that always made him a little light headed, but mostly because of what she had said. Did she know he had a reputation as a trouble maker? He didn't think so, but he wasn't sure. Either way, he really didn't want her to think he was a bad sort.
"I really can't change people's opinions of me," he told her with a touch of concern in his voice. "They already think it's the truth and once it's the truth, how can it be false?"

So, he completely confused her. What was he talking about now? While she knew he was on the same topic as she was, she wasn't sure why he seemed to be taking it so personally, after all, she'd only been teasing him. Maybe she'd annoyed him much quicker than she thought she was going to? Possibly.
Breaking eye contact, she shifted so she wasn't so close to him, her eyebrows knitting. "An opinion can always be changed, and while it's hard to change someone's opinion of onesself, it can be done with a little bit of work." No, opinion changing wasn't easy, but it could be done. "And it'd still be false. Whether it's believed to be or not is of different matter, but if it's false, then it can't be true. Knowing the truth of something for onesself, even if others won't believe it, doesn't change the fact of the matter. That being that it is true or false."
Felicity was still confused about why he'd taken it so personally, but she tried answering his question, and she'd gotten out of his face, so maybe he wouldn't be mad at her?

She was sure making him think a lot that night, not something he would usually expect after a good snog.
"You have to fight for what you know is true... but what if you're wrong?" he asked with a small frown. He was pretty sure that he was right about a lot of things he fought for, but could you ever really be sure? "Because while you're fighting to preserve what you know as the truth, the other side thinks they're in the right and fights back. So whoever wins, that's the right truth?"
No... he knew that wasn't right. He knew that he didn't always make the best choices, but that didn't make him a bad guy. He was sure that being with Felicity was what was right, maybe not forever, but definitely for now. He was confident that what Shaw was planning with the Deva was wrong and if the Deva won the battle, that just meant they needed to fight harder the next time.
"You just have to trust your heart, don't you?" he concluded. "The smallest voice makes a big difference, butterfly effect, Horton Hears a Who, the only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing."
He gave a long sigh, realizing he was probably rambling, positive she was going to start thinking he was off his rocker, and he gave her a small smile in the hopes that she'd forgive the randomness.

Shaking her head at him, she was still confused. No, whoever won a battle didn't make something right or wrong, but she wasn't sure how fighting or rights and wrongs got involved in the conversation either. "There's always two sides to every truth and falsehood, and not everyone can be sure that their truth is the right truth, but that doesn't make it any less truth, does it?"
Now her head was beginning to hurt, not sure exactly what it was she was saying. Everyone believed their own truth, but those who knew the truth as it was, truth, usually had to fight harder to show the true truth was the correct truth. But that still didn't make the truth any less than it was. If only one person knew the truth, that didn't make what they knew false just because others didn't believe it to be the truth.
Felicity agreed with him, especially about having to trust your heart, but he sure was confusing her. How the conversation evolved from her teasing to him being confusing she didn't know, but at least what he was saying made sense. Even though she wasn't sure of the context he was speaking of, she wondered if he was talking about the Deva operations, it would make more sense out of the conversation.
Shaking her head again, this time hoping to clear away the confusion, she smiled back at him, hoping she hadn't started something to make him mad at her. But he was still holding her, so that had to be a good sign, right?

He loosened his hold on her just enough to move his hand up to her face and tuck a stray curl back behind her ear. Another truth he felt very sure of was that he had lucked out by meeting her. She could have had any guy in the school, but there she was with him.
"Have I told you how amazing I think you are?" he asked her looking at her with a gentle smile. It wasn't everyone who could make sense out of his nonsense.

Her light brown eyes closed for a moment, just enjoying the feel of his hand, maybe he wasn't mad at her. Hearing his words, she felt the heat rise to her cheeks as she slowly re-opened her eyes to look at him. It was really sweet and she wasn't sure how to react.
"Not in so many words," she smiled at him as she tightened her grip on him again. Actually, he had done and said a few things that made her feel special, but he hadn't ever said anything out loud that eluded to something so crystal clear, and it was really nice hearing him say it. Well, that wasn't entirely truthful either. He had told her he liked her, and he'd been outright with that for the most part, and that was kind of what he was saying, wasn't it?
"I think you are, too," she replied softly.

His hand slipped to the nape of her neck which was warm and soft to his touch and he gently pulled her closer and kissed her again, thrilled over how how much he loved that particular privledge. After lingering a few moments on her lips he slowly and carefully made a trail of kisses down to her jaw and then up towards her ear, searching for the sweet spot at the top of her neck. He was pretty sure it would taste like vanilla.
