The kissing was nice, scratch that, the kissing was fantastical, and she really liked that he felt comfortable enough kissing her, but when he started his little trail, she froze. They had just started the kissing part of the 'relationship' that was going on, she wasn't sure she was very comfortable with more than the 'normal' kissing, lips on lips. Or lips on cheek was okay too, but she had to hold back the smallest shiver that threatened to climb her spine when his lips headed back towards her ear.
Pulling back to make him stop, even though it really felt nice she shook her head at him. "Drew, I don't think I want that, yet," the blonde explained, really hoping he wasn't going to be mad at her now. While she knew she had right to tell him no, she also didn't want him to be angry with her for not wanting him to do something. All right, so she wouldn't have minded it so much, but it wasn't sitting well with her.

Too fast... too fast... The alarms in his brain sounded even as she pulled back from him and, before she had finished her gentle protest, he was already apologizing for his behaviour.
"Sorry...sorry... I'm sorry..." he murmured, feeling rotten about pushing it like that. What the heck had he been thinking? He hadn't, of course. She had given her okay for him to kiss her, not to go for the full maul.
He took a deep breath, trying to clear his head a little, figuring he was going to be in for a cold shower when he got back to Ravenclaw. "Sorry. It won't happen again," he told her, leaning in to plade his forehead against hers, hoping she didn't hold it against him when things had been going so well. She had been patient waiting for him to get this far. He had no problem following her lead now.

At least he didn't sound angry, in fact, he sounded more apologetic than she thought was really necessary. He'd stopped when she pulled away from him, and he hadn't tried for it again right after, so that was a good sign. Smiling a little as he put his forehead against hers, she bumped her nose against his again.
"It's okay, you stopped when I asked you to. No harm, no foul, right?" she asked him as she closed her eyes. "And I hope that's not true," she added. "I think I'd like for it to happen again...someday, when I think I'm all right with it." It really had a nice feel to it, so soft and gentle, but she just didn't like how it made her feel right then. That was moving too fast, too soon. Slow was a nice pace right now, things had been moving slow for them for a while, and she didn't think there was any reason to change the pace right then. Yes, they'd had their jumps, but even then those jumps were slow, weren't they?

Drew kept his forehead against hers and nodded back, glad she didn't seem mad about it, noting that she said that he'd be able to kiss her like that one day.
It gave him something to look forward to, right?
"You let me know," he said softly, recognizing that he was slightly more experienced with the whole relationship thing, but knowing that she was probably smarter in that area. Girls always were.

It was her turn to nod in response. She'd be sure to let him know when she was ready to move a little faster, but that day just really wasn't the right time. No, it wouldn't be the next day either, but someday. While there wasn't much difference between kissing on the cheek and wat he was doing, it had a different feel to it, and it was a feel she wasn't prepared for, nor wanted right then.
"I promise I will," she whispered back to him. Someday, hopefully, she would be able to tell him it was all right. Adjusting the slightest bit, she moved closer to him and softly placed her lips on his. Kissing was still good.

He closed his eyes and took in her kiss, relishing that one little pleasure. No, it wasn't so bad going slow. It was exactly what he had wanted from the beginning and he was pretty sure he could do it, even when other thoughts wanted to push forward faster.
"If... if I forget and overstep again, you'll tell me, right?" he asked, opening his eyes to look into her brown ones. "And I'll back off. I promise." When the girl said stop, you stop. That was the number one rule and he knew it.

"Yes, I'll tell you," she promised him. If she didn't like something he did, she wasn't going to just let him continue doing it, especially if it didn't sit well with her. Felicity knew that what he'd promised her, he'd do. She didn't figure him for someone who'd go back on his word if the circumstances allowed, and already trusted him, so she had no reason to believe he wouldn't stop if she told him to.
"We should probably get back to our common rooms," she suggested once more. And although that was where they were heading, they'd managed to find a couple of ways of getting a few more minutes together. And while she didn't want to leave his company yet, she didn't think they could really get away without being caught out much longer.

Drew smiled back, glad that that was settled. And the way she had said it had given him the impression that she wouldn't be mad or hold it against him if he slipped up. That had happened to Nic and one of his past girlfriends and Drew really didn't want to go through that.
He nodded a little reluctantly, also noticing how they had managed to squeeze in a few extra moments together. "Am I still carrying you because I think I need to switch to piggy-back," he told her. A change in positions would make any prospective kissing harder, but it would be so much easier going up the stairs.

"I told you I can walk," she smiled at him, saying her words in an exasperated, teasing tone. Going in for one more good kiss, she lingered for a moment before dropping her legs off of him, still keeping her arms around his neck to finish off the kiss. Walking was easy in the castle, even with as many stairs as there were, she liked them. Finally pulling away from Drew, she smiled at him.
"Race you to the stairs?" she asked, knowing they weren't very far from where they currently were.

"Well, I know you can walk..." Drew answered back with a grin, thinking that was beside the point. He had just thought it was nice having her that close is all. He was more than a little disappointed when she dropped her legs and as he had loosened his hold some, he had no choice but to let her slide down from him.
"Race?" he questioned, raising an eyebrow and taking off even before she had a chance to say go. About half way down the hall, he turned around and jogged backwards to look at her. "Jees, you're slow..."

Felicity's jaw dropped a little in mock disgust when he took a cheating start. That certainly wasn't fair, but she was used to it from her nephews and nieces. Taking off after him, she stuck her tongue out at him.
"I'm not slow, you're just a cheater," she explained. "And you have unnaturally long legs," she said matter-of-factly, though she didn't really think it was true. "How am I supposed to compete fairly with a long-legged cheater?"

He made a face back at her before responding. "It's not cheating when all I'm doing is taking advantage of my unnatually long legs," Drew answered, still running backwards and slowing down enough so that she could catch up to him.
"Move it, move it, move it!" he cried out to her, stopping all together to do a few stretches there in the middle of the hallway. Of course he had to be limber to beat her properly.

It only took a moment for her to catch up to him, thinking it was kind of funny that he'd stopped and started stretching right there in the middle of their race. And he was so a cheater, he started before she gave the go ahead to.
She was a little used to the commands of a coach, that being bellowed to her to work harder.
"You know the hare never wins?" she asked him as she was next to him. If he wanted to call her slow, then she'd re-tell the story of the race between the tortoise and the hare.

"Do I look stupid enough to take a nap in the middle of the race?" Drew asked, knowing full well that doing calesthenics half-way through probably came a close second. "It's a good think I'm not a hare because that would make you a tortoise and you are much too cute to be one of those." He gave her a cheesy grin, giving her the opportunity to pass him up. If she did that, then it would be fair seeing as he had gotten the head start, right?

"Are you saying tortoises aren't adorable?" she asked as she took the offered opportunity. The blonde thought they were cute, all right, so really she liked their shells more than anything, but they were still cute. Of course they were no where near that of squirrels or Drew's boxers, but they were still adorable.
Running a little farther, she could see the stairs in front of her, now it was a matter of getting there before he did. Just like with a creature chasing you, you only had to be faster than the last person behind you.
