His gentleness was something she had always appreciated, the way he spoke to her, the way he held her, and the way he made her feel completely safe. The kiss was more than she had expected at first. While they had ended abruptly before, her surprise taking priority at that particular moment, and still she didn't know how he knew what she had been thinking of. Was it possible he had connected for a moment? That all the time they spent together had finally given him the chance to know what she wanted exactly without her telling him?
As his hands moved, she shifted slightly, unknowingly to her, trying to make where his hand was going more available. This had been something she'd thought long and hard about, nearly making a list of pros and cons about it, but it was what she wanted, she wanted him to do that. And something that made her even happier was that he still wanted to do that. Feeling his hand move, she had to keep reminding herself to breathe, which was hard as well because of the kiss he was giving her.
He deepened the kiss and Felicity's breath felt short in the excitement when he moved tighter against her body. Being pinned against the floor, his hand beneath her, his body over her, she couldn't be more pleased, or feel any safer. Breaking from the kiss, Felicity stretched her neck out, reaching her hands to the back of his head, and tried to guide him to the spot he had been kissing on before when she'd made that one noise she wanted to make again, but knew she wasn't allowed to.

She shifted slightly and somehow he knew exactly what she was doing and what she wanted. The gentle pressure confirmed his instincts and as she arched her neck, he made a slow trail of kisses towards the soft, sweet spot below her ear that he absolutely loved kissing.
Spending a few moments there, he carefully kissed his way down her neck, settling at her collarbone. He could feel the warmth of being so close to her spreading down to his toes, and he made a soft, happy humming sound as he enjoyed the sensation.

With every kiss he made, she turned her neck ever so slightly to make the next spot more available to his tender touch. When he paused at that one spot, she found herself fighting to not make that noise again, gulping to bite the noise back when it started to bubble in her throat. And when he moved from that spot, taking his kiss lower on her throat, she found it even harder to fight that noise, closing her eyes and sweeping her hands through his curls before she started to move them slowly down his neck, to his shoulders, down over his chest, allowing them to take in every feel she could as the slid lower down his sides.
The next stop of his lips once more took Felicity by surprise and she felt her back stiffen. It felt really nice, but he hadn't ever done that before, sure, he'd kissed her shoulder twice that one time, back on her birthday before last, but he hadn't ever kissed her there before.
His humming made her giggle nervously as she brought her hands back up him slowly, letting them rest lightly at the nape of his neck, her fingers intertwining in his curls.

He felt her tense up, but knew she'd say something if he was supposed to stop. In light of their previous conversation, he remembered his promise to stop and wondered if he should anyway, but her giggle encouraged him and he stuck to the spot he had discovered for a little while longer.
He loved it when she played with his hair and the feel of her smooth legs intertwined with his was amazing. He was keenly aware of the pressure of his hips against hers and thought again about needing to stop. Being with her was incredible but he knew if he didn't break away from her pretty soon, he'd need to take a quick dunk in the fountain to cool off. He shifted slightly to the side, sliding his hand to her hip and kissing her neck one more time.

The want to not stop was climbing and she knew that no matter how much she didn't want to, they'd have to. If they didn't, well, again, the consequences would be horrible, not only would they not be allowed to be together any longer, her parents would likely be angry enough to move the entire Hjort clan elsewhere, so she was no longer in close proximity of Drew. And though she didn't want to stop, she told herself it was all right for now, nothing was really happening other than he was kissing her in a new spot and his hand was in a new spot. But they weren't doing something they shouldn't have been, at least she didn't think so.
When he moved, she was slightly disappointed, but understood. At least, she did until his lips touched her neck again, and she realized she wasn't ready to stop yet. With him off to the side just a tad, she gently pushed on his shoulder, getting him to move onto his back and then climbing over him, placing one knee to each side of his hips and leaning in to pursue another kiss. Sturdy hands slid over shoulders and chest, and back again, resting and massaging the area by his neck.

He had tried to stop, having every intention to remember not to cross any more lines for the night and keep from needing a cold shower. Okay, so he hadn't tried all that hard, but still he had tried.
But all his efforts were soon forgotten as she pushed him on his back and sat on him. He was a little curious about what she was doing, always liking it whenever she pinned him like that, and as she ran her hands over him he closed his eyes and gave a deep sigh.

Leaning in toward him, Felicity stretched her torso out, snuggling against her boyfriend, and started kissing him lightly. Slowly, she moved away from his lips, toward his jaw, and found the spot that smelled so nice all the time on his neck. If he could kiss her neck the way he had, she could his the same way, right? Nibbling at that spot, she couldn't help the giggles that surfaced while she tried. Sure, they'd been kissing on each other for a while, but she honestly didn't think she could ever make it feel as good for him as he did to her. And because of it she found herself unable to stop the nervous laughter nearly every time.
Moving up to his ear, she nibbled even more gently, feeling like she had that down, as he never seemed to stop her from kissing him there.

When she leaned into him, his hand found its way to her backside again. His other hand stroked her silky hair and he twirled a few strands between his fingers.
He hadn't expected the nibbles, but it was definitely not unwelcome. Her giggles against his skin added a whole new sensation to her kisses and by the time she was working her way back up to his ear, he was completely relaxed. A soft moan escaped him, but he was totally unaware, only wanting her to keep kissing him like she was.

Making happy little noises when he started moving his hand through her hair, she giggled at the sensations that tingled at the root of her hair as he played with it. She wasn't sure what he seemed to find so fascinating about it, but she knew she loved the curls in his hair, but her hair wasn't even curly that day, like he liked.
Suddenly, in the middle of her kiss, she heard that noise he made, one he'd made before, but it reminded her of what she'd made just a while before, and she immediately backed away from his ear, leaning in and placing a short simple kiss on his lips before rolling off to his side and snuggling against him. Hearing that noise reminded her that stopping was something that had to remember, that she had to remember. And that noise meant it was time to remember.

She moved away sooner than he was ready, but it was probably for the best. He wanted more than anything to flip her back over and continue kissing her, but as she broke away, he remembered his promise. If she thought it was time to stop, he would.
As she snuggled up against him, he wrapped his arms around her, understanding that it was time to settle down and relax. He closed his eyes, and while the scent of her hair was awfully intoxicating, he focused on the sound of the fountain that seemed to remind him how much he could really use a cold shower.

When his arms wrapped around her, she felt like she was located in a cocoon. The warmth of his body made her feel like she was sitting in front of a blazing fire, and she absolutely loved it. Letting her head find a spot on his shoulder, and then she started tracing across his chest with her fingers and made little designs, knowing he liked when she did that. The feelings in her belly weren't calming down any, but she didn't think she minded so much, because they were making her feel awfully good.
"This feels right," she told him softly, knowing what she meant, and hoping he understood so she wouldn't have to explain. It felt right to be in his arms, to be so close to hm, to love him as she did. The promise ring he gave her felt right, too, she knew what it really meant, and she wanted it to happen some day. At that moment she knew she wanted to be with him always, she was happy with him, and he could make her happy easily.

It was hard to focus on settling down, calming his racing heart, fighting the urge to flip her over and snog her good, when she traced patterns on his chest like that. Even so, he wasn't about to tell her to stop. It felt too good. It felt too right.
"I was just thinking that," he said with a smile, kissing the top of her head. When she snuggled up to him like that, he was always amazed at how well she fit right there in his arms. It was proof to him that she belonged there and he was confident that no one else would fill that spot as perfectly as she did.
He was enjoying the moment of just having her so close and as his heartrate slowed to a more normal pace, his concerns resurfaced. He didn't want to ask her why she hadn't trusted him to come back, knowing that it was over and done with and probably not important. They had only been dating a couple of months so he figured it was understandable that she hadn't trusted him. What he needed to know was that she knew he wouldn't leave her in that situation again.
"Felicity? Can I ask you something... about what happened in January?" he started softly, confident she would say yes but knowing that didn't mean she would answer. "You know... now... that I would come back for you, right? I wouldn't ever leave you. You know that right?"

Smiling to herself, Felicity sighed deeply, inhaling his scent and making sure it was the only thing she could smell. His scent was amazing and it always made her smile, even when she was upset at him, his smell always put a faint touch of smile on her face. And when he held her close, it was hard to be angry with him about anything, but none of that mattered, because right now, it was right. It was just like it should've been, it was perfect. What was more, was he agreed with her about how it felt, it just felt right.
"You can ask anything," she told him confidently. She had told him before he could ask anything, but she held the right not to answer, just like he had. Drew could ask her anything in the world, but if she didn't want to answer, then she wouldn't and she'd tell him so.
At first, she thought he meant that she knew now that he would've come back then. But weren't they all caught and taken to the dungeons before? How would it have been any different? He couldn't have gotten her before even if she hadn't done what she had. But then his next answer made her smile, he wouldn't ever leave her, and she knew that. But before she answered, she thought about all of what he said.
Sitting up suddenly, Felicity pushed herself away from him and stared at him incredulously. Confusion ran across her face, if he wouldn't leave her then how could he come back? Did he really mean he would leave, and then come back...? He would leave her there...again...
"No..." she began, shaking her head as she felt the tears start to form. "You wouldn't...would you? You wouldn't leave, right? You wouldn't..."

He hadn't expected her to push away from him. He had expected her to snuggle deeper in his arms, gaze into his eyes, and confirm in a soft but confident voice that yes, she knew he'd always come back for her. She wasn't supposed to move away from him.
Her question confused him. Over a year ago she had asked him if it was his job to leave her. He had been confused then as well until he finally figured out what she meant... or at least he thought he knew what she had meant. Now he wasn't sure anymore.
"But if I'm going to be an Auror..." His words trailed off as he worried about being in that situation again. It had been something he had been stressing over since he made his decision to be an Auror. How could he go off and fight the bad guys, knowing that the people he cared for the most might fall into danger. Felicity had assured him that she understood he would have to go, but now she was acting like she didn't. "I'll come back. I won't leave until I know you'll be okay and you have to know I'll come back." He wouldn't have left back in January if he had known she would try to leave and put herself in danger.

Shaking her head again, Felicity couldn't do anymore than that. He wouldn't leave her again, he just wouldn't, she believed so much that he wouldn't leave her, that he would've stayed with her. But now, he was telling her he would have left her anyway, that amongst all those horrible, horrible people, he would've left her there, all alone.
An Auror had a job that needed to be done, she knew that, but he wasn't an Auror, he was Drew, a student, the Head Boy, he wasn't an Auror. He was her boyfriend, one of her best friends, he was a Thornton, but he wasn't yet an Auror. And he wouldn't really leave her there again, would he? He would stay and help, he wouldn't leave and get caught and never be able to help, would he?
As an Auror it wasn't his job to leave, it was his job to help. Leaving her wouldn't help.
"You didn't come back last time..." she answered softly, the pain inside from saying it tearing at her. Those butterflies that made her happy felt like shards of glass dropping through her system, bringing her back down to what he didn't do last time, and what he did do. He left her, he left her alone with those people and then he didn't come back, when he tried he was caught and couldn't come back. She'd been left alone, and he couldn't do anything about it because he left under Raynor's orders. And now he was telling her if he'd been given a choice, he would do it anyway.
"You didn't know what I was going to be last time, and you still left. And you didn't come back."
