Charlie felt the same tug on her end. "This thing's gettin' to be annoying," she declared. She sighed as she looked at it. Tracing her finger on the weaving, she tried to lightly yank it from Hiro's finger. But it wasn't gentle enough. In fact, the only way they could take it off was through an unstrained pull, without tensing up the finger. Of course, being the un-Muggle savvy aggressor that Charlie was, it wasn't going to an answer to come easy.

"Yeah." Hiro said but didn't really mean. It, for the most part, didn't hurt, it wasn't preventing him from getting anywhere, and it gave him an excuse to be close to Charlie. "Well you're brother said it was easy so what would be simple for him?"

Charlie let herself think it through. WWDD?--What Would Dan Do? "Probably make some complex potion or charm on it, fail, and walk around with it." She seemed serious, but she was just so mad at Dan. She was always sure he wasn't going to take Mike's footsteps. "What would you do?" She then asked.

Hiro laughed at her comment.
"Maybe we'll be stuck together than." Hiro said. "Me? Well i'd try pulling it off which doesn't work. Then I'd try and figure out what made it easy for the person who sent it. But since those didn't work...just have to gnaw off our hands." Hiro joked.

"Not my beater hand!" Charlie said defensively, but she had a tone in her voice that responded with sarcasm. " 'Ctually, both of my hands are beater hands," she boasted. She was ambidextrous on the field, but she only wrote with her left hand. "Why don't we just cut your hand off and keep mine intact?"

"Because then you'd be stuck with my amputated hand for the rest of your life." Hiro used logic to avoid removing his hand. Sure he didn't need that hand to write, his quill translated all his notes into and out of braille and he could write with either hand. He did prefer to use his cane with that hand though. "Besides if I'm losing a hand to this trap it's only balanced that you lose one too."

"Why do I have to lose it?" Charlie protested, "You won't miss your hand much, right? Me, on the other hand," She and her writer then had to laugh at the pun because they were both corny like that, "... well, I got the magic touch. Everyone wins if we just cut your hand. Actually-- just me." As usual, her tone meant business, but there was the steady glint of humor in it. She wouldn't think to cut Hiro's hand off (anytime soon).

"Lot of good your magic touch'll do if you're stuck to me." Hiro countered also joking but in a serious tone. "Besides this is my cane hand, I'd have to teach myself to use it in my other hand which would severely hinder myself for a while. Like you said you can use a beater bat in either hand so you're not really losing anything."
Hiro was ready to debate this until one of them couldn't keep a straight face anymore. It was fairly entertaining try to find reason why the other should lose their hand.

Charlie scoffed. "You kiddin' me? I could totally give you a hand with that." It took a second to realize the pun she made before she snickered. She did have to add, though, "Pun intended.
"Come on, how am I supposed to be a world famous qudditch player if I'm missing a hand? I haven't heard about any players with missing limbs, 'cept Lindsay Limber, who lost his foot in a puffskein accident."

"Well thanks for that considering I'll be one short." Hiro replied. "And as far as quidditch goes it's just something to enhance your game. Sure you could be a great quidditch player, flying around and even make captain someday. But with one hand you could be a legend, even after you retire people would remember you not just because of your records but of what you had to overcome. And the press would be swarming you, you wouldn't believe the the amount of attention people give you because of a 'handicap'."
Hiro said the last with a tint of resentment.

"Heeey... you're right," Charlie said with a tone of inspiration. She noticed his own tone, but she absentmindly took it lightly, thinking he was still being playful and mock jealous that she would be one-handed legend.
She looked down at the trap again, thinking back in reality. And the truth of it was, they wouldn't cut anyone's hands off. "Maybe we can stay stuck," she said, not noticing her own glint of hope in her sentence.

It's funny how much you can find just from the tones people use to speak. Hiro had learned this a long time again and had noticed he was more keen to it than others. Of course he also knew not to jump into things and not pay attention to the tricks his mind plays on him. This was something he had to find out which was the case.
"That wouldn't be bad," Hiro said with the same glint of hope, he on the other hand noticed it and despite himself it still escaped. He then attempted to make it less obvious. "I mean we get along well enough."

"Yeah," she replied in agreement. Her subconscious mind was at work, but her mind at the superficial level was none the wiser. "I mean, there's so many people I'd hate to be stuck with." There was Bloxard, Raynor, Reina, Arty, Alhana, Nic, Drew... The list could have gone on, because she knew a clash could come with them at any time. "If I had to choose, it'da' be you."

Hiro could feel his cheeks go red from the rush of blood. He quickly tilted his head down to try and hide it.
"I'd choose you too." He kind of muttered almost into his chest. After what seemed like forever Hiro lifted his head with most the blush gone. "Hey Charlie I've been thinking a lot and...um, you know Drew and Alhana have been going out for such a long time."
Hiro was still trying to gather his words, it was about time that he got this over with. He (literally) couldn't run away from it anymore and just had to take a chance.

Charlie was glad for his reply... still she couldn't tell why she was that glad about it. The Slytherin, who had been fiddling with a loose thread on her trousers, had looked over to Hiro for a moment. Why's he red? Her head asked, but quickly tried to dismiss it that he was getting frustrated with the trap. But the dismissal was more of a doubted attempt when he seemed to bring up Drew and Alhana. "Yeah," she said though with a tint of confusion. "One moment they're scratching each other's eyes out and the next they're glued at the mouth. Kinda gross."
