Well, this brought one some ambivalency to Charlie, but seemingly parted in three ways. She was excited to have known how to solve it, though it was the most humilating thing especially when it took a long time to figure it out in the first place. But-- hard to admit-- this was perfect and very surprising. All the more worth it, though.
"Yeah, I think we shouldn't even mention that thing. Made us look pathetic," she said with a nervous and somewhat embarassed laugh. "Here--I'll throw it away. Who knows what else'll happen with that thing if I keep it in my pocket any longer."

Now that they knew the secrets to it there was only one thing to do...use that to their advantage, afterall what kind of pranksters would they be if they gave something like this up.
"Throw it away!?" Hiro repeated. "Why would you do that? We're probably the only two that know this thing and if not we can modify it till we are. This thing has so much potential, a few spells on it and we can make it like a lie detector or something."

Potential, he said?!? "Damn! That's right, man! Pretty sure we can add some charms to makes it lock and unlock on command, maybe get it to tighten more...." Ideas ran and rushed in. "Maybe we can get it to expand and take an entire person's body, like a snake!"

"Well I'm not sure if we want to go that far." Hiro said not sure if she was serious. "You know murder isn't the funniest prank out there. We should really look into this at the start of next year."

Charlie scoffed at him in a "who, me?" tone. "We're not gonna kill no one. Just have some fun with binding them so they get to waddle around through the castle. Firsties next year might get a nice taste of it." While it seemed that the subject was getting planned for next year, she made a note of defending the idea. Nothing would keep her from it.

"Well I guess if no one's going to die that makes it more conceivable. We might be able to make it so it won't let go until they agree to carry our books for a week." Hiro joked, if they found the right curses they could make this trap do almost anything.

"See? Glad you're catching on with my drift, man!" She nudged him, but it had a slight bit of hesitation in it. Despite the fact that they were conspiring and doing the usual thing that was expected of them, she had in the back of her mind the invisible circumstance between them.
"We'll get a list up, and we won't forget nothing about this. But we've got to really do it next term," she added, thinking of the agenda of events that was coming up for her.

"Yeah." Hiro agreed. At this point with O.W.L.s and everything else there wasn't any time for customizing pranks. There wasn't even time for a relationship really. Which also brought him back to the situation at hand, maybe they should take it slow until after O.W.L.s they didn't seem to know what was going on anyway.
"Right, next term we'll have a new trick up our sleeves. By then we'll probably have more of a plan too." Hiro said picking up on the fact that even though they were able to share their feelings they didn't have any clue what it all meant.
(Nic says he doesn't want to know about the relationship before our plans for next term. Now we have an excuse)

(sweet deal! It all works out.)
"Yeah, man!" Charlie agreed rather merrily. She knew now that the OWLs were in the home stretch, and she just needed to keep an eye out for it longer. When that could happen, things would be free and clear. Except...
"After OWLs... I've got to do some pre-season training with the team. Then, uh, break at home...?" It was the music that Charlie faced harshly. This "dating" thing as they called it-- could it take just some time in her busy schedule and long distance? "Know what? When I get back home, you oughta write to me. You know. To, uh, get some more brainstormin' going."

"Well I was going to write you even without that little trap." Hiro said with a small chuckle. "Speaking of O.W.L.s here's the notes from History."
While they were stuck Hiro's enchanted quill had been translating his notes from braille.
(I think we can end this thread unless you have a plan)

Charlie chuckled under her breath, but feeling embarassed at the same time. The question now seemed dumb, because the obvious was there. It was like arithmancy problem that you can't solve until someone points it out, and you realize that you could have figured it out by yourself.
But she glad, dumb question or not.
"Yeah..." she said driftily as she watched the notes and produced the materials to copy them. It would be an automatic thing to copy it, but she was going to have a hard time shaking off thoughts and just focusing. This was good, right?
