Felicity had little doubt that he'd deny her a dance, not when he was always moving and grooving when he had the chance. And it didn't come as a surprise when he didn't vocalize consent, but she was a little taken aback at how he positioned himself around her. It was nice. It was her mum and dad danced, and David had danced like that with Ruth all the time, closer than her mum and dad did, but with their hands the same.
As he pulled her right hand down, the left slid down his neck and found its spot at his shoulder. She hadn't really thought of music, as he was always dancing to something, she figured he'd set the music himself, or she'd go with the strands that were plucking at her heart and mind. Either worked for the lioness.
It was almost just like at the Halloween dance, with how close he held her to him. It felt so nice then, but it was nothing compared to how it felt now.

Drew held her hand to his chest, his other hand pulling her close as he swayed gently to the song of the rain falling on the pavement. A fresh, wet smell hung in the air and he leaned his cheek against the top of her head, just enjoying the coziness of it all.
"You warm enough?" he asked softly, not sure what he would do if she said she wasn't. His soaking sweatshirt wouldn't help much and he wasn't ready to go inside yet.

"Mmhmm," she allowed the noise to play on her vocal chords. While the rain was cool coming down on her, splashing the ground and touching her bare legs, Felicity barely felt it. Whether it was because she was so cold she was numb, or because her own happiness and butterflies were keeping her warm, or it was just being so close to Drew, it didn't matter, she wasn't cold.
However, a strange occurrence of memory made its way available to her. It was the last time she'd felt herself really heat up about something, she'd been pretty embarrassed when it'd happened. When the new boy made a comment about her her face had gone a very deep shade of red which warmed her face like nothing else. Tempted she was to ask Drew about what the boy had said, if it'd been a nice thing or not. Even if the language could've been different.
However, it was not this that she was focused on, but rather the involvement of her now-friend-again. Celina and she had started talking again, going right back into their friendship and that she knew of, she hadn't told Drew and didn't think Celina would've.
"Drew?" she started, resting her head against him. "I spoke to Celina..."

Drew moved the arm he had around her higher up, hugging her close even though she said she was fine. At least, that's what he figured the small humming sound meant. It also meant they weren't going inside yet.
He was just enjoying the warmth of having her so close and when she spoke, it took him a while to realize what she was actually talking about.
"You did?" he answered with a question, surprised that the girls had talked, but not totally shocked that it had happened. He was also a little surprised Felicity was actually telling him about it and vowed not to open his mouth too much, lest he stick his large foot inside.

"Mmhmm..." she hummed in confirmation, not noticing the smallest delay in his reaction. The last time the two girls had spoken was in January, it'd been an awfully long time to go without her best friend, but really, she wasn't entirely sure why they'd stopped talking. Did she blame Celina? No, not even in the slightest, it wasn't her fault Felicity put her in that particular position. It was her own and Raynor's. Yes, she still blamed Raynor for what happened, she was the indirect cause of it all in her opinion. Felicity absolutely avoided the woman at most costs, even the interview that had to be conducted was incredibly awkward for her, trying her best not to glare every two seconds at the unfathomable woman.
"She was dropping off an article for the paper," she laughed softly. It was just like Celina to actually work on the article and not let her down, even if they hadn't spoken in ages. "And I was in the office looking over some stuff when she came in. I think she actually tried to sneak away, but I couldn't let her..."
Celina was her best friend, much more like a sister as she had called Felicity, and she couldn't let go of the girl, not if she hadn't tried at least. The silliest thing about it all was neither knew who wasn't speaking to who, both just assumed they weren't talking to the other because the other wasn't talking to them.
"We talked about what happened. Neither one of us really seemed to blame the other. I mean, I couldn't be mad at her for that," she told him. Felicity wasn't about to stop moving, it felt to nice to be in his arms as she was and she didn't want to be pried away from him just yet. The pitter-patter of the rain was soothing, but nowhere near as his breathing was.

Drew was actually surprised to hear that Celina had been dropping off an article for the paper. He didn't consider the girl to be a flake, but he thought she would have been more likely to just hide and avoid it all.
"Okay," Drew answered, not sure what else he was supposed to say about the news, still worried that by saying too much he'd just make things take a turn for the worst. He still wanted to know what had happened that day, wanted some explaination as to why Celina would sell out her best friend, but he stayed quiet. The important thing was that it sounded like Felicity was feeling good about it. He supposed he didn't need his questions answered as long as she was okay.

"I was kind of surprised when I saw her," she continued after a moment. When Drew was quiet, she was never sure whether it was a good or bad thing at times like this. Certain people, like Corey, silence was peaceful to attend to with, but with Drew, she was never quite sure. Of course, she was sure most of it was in her mind, that she was over-analyzing too much about things because she was so worried about making him mad. Whereas with others, she didn't really care too much how she made them feel, but Drew she did. Mainly, she was sure, it was because he usually made her feel so special that she didn't want to ruin that, and wanted to make him feel the same way so she felt the need to tread too lightly.
"I thought she was mad at me since we hadn't talked, but I stopped her from leaving. And we cried, a lot," she said. It was a moment she felt was going to be the breaking point, both she was sure felt that way, but she loved Celina too much to let that happen. "I think she thought I was mad at her, too. I wasn't though, I couldn't be. I mean, how could I be mad at her for something that was my fault?"
Closing her eyes, she continued to lean into Drew as much as she dared, as much as their dancing would allow for her to do. The Gryffindor wanted him to talk a little bit, more than those frustrating one word answers that weren't really answers. But she knew there was so much still she needed to talk to him about, especially since Celina was her support again. She had her back, and it felt like things were getting better, but she knew she still had to tell Drew of what happened.

She kept talking, sounding somewhat pleased by the situation and Drew was willing to let her go on until that one last little bit.
"Your fault?" he asked, and he stopped swaying, concerned over what she had said. Even as he did so, he knew he was about to blow things big time. It wasn't her fault. Heck, it hadn't even been Celina's fault. If it was anyone's fault, it had been his for taking the stupid portkey. He was convinced that had he stayed behind, the worst of what had occured never would have happened.
"W... why do you think it's your fault?" he asked, trying to keep the question to himself, knowing it would sjust start a fight, but unable to stop it from escaping.

The movement of his body stopped and she knew it probably wasn't a good thing that he was no longer dancing. His reaction was something she knew would come, eventually, but she had hoped that he'd keep dancing at least, that way there was a little bit of a distraction. Unfortunately, she wasn't wasn't lucky enough to get what she wanted.
"Yes, it was my fault," she told him again. "I was the one who told Celina we had to leave. I was the one who wanted to leave." It came down to her own actions. Had she not had the initial idea that leaving was a good plan, it was unlikely she and Celina would've ended up in front of Shaw as they had. It was unlikely Celina's family would've been threatened, giving her no choice but to tell what Felicity had planned. "If I hadn't wanted to leave so badly, it wouldn't have happened."
Celina could not be given any blame in the situation, not when Felicity was the one who had accidentally forced her family to be threatened by that man. Really, she was glad Celina hadn't given up her family, for if it had been the other way around, Felicity doubted she would've been able to allow anything to happen to her family either.
"He threatened her family," she continued, lifting her chin up so she could see Drew from beneath the rim of the hat. Drew knew how much her own family meant to her, surely he would understand the situation.

"That doesn't make it your fault..." Drew answered, feeling like he was treading awfully close to the dreaded I don't get it that had caused so much trouble in the Room of Requirement. But he didn't get why she thought she was to blame. It wasn't her fault. It was Shaw's fault for being there. It was some jerk's fault for ratting the girls out to the Deva. It was his own fault for taking the portkey. But it wasn't her fault for wanting to leave.
He threatened her family... Drew fell silent thinking about this last bit of information, weighing it against what had already happened. While he had really only wanted to help Celina, now that he had this new piece of information, he thought that what he had said might have been hurtful.
What would he have done in Celina's place? What had he done? Under direct torture he had refused to give Shaw the name of a friend, even though the man and his henchwoman had threatened to hurt Allegra if he didn't give them what they wanted.
The difference had been that Allegra hadn't been there in that shack. Drew had refused to give the name because he had known Allegra was safe.

It was entirely her fault. She was the one who talked Celina into her irrational plan that at the time had felt one hundred percent rational. If she hadn't talked Celina into leaving with her, neither of them would've gotten in trouble any. Celina's family wouldn't have been threatened if it hadn't been for Felicity and Felicity wouldn't have had to stand in front of that man while he did awful things. It was Felicity's fault her things had been taken and destroyed, it was her fault he'd threatened Celina's blood, it was her fault he'd pointed his wand at her.
If it hadn't been for Felicity's insane idea that they could leave, no one would've been threatened or hurt. And Celina's brother was at Hogwarts now, so he was safer at the school than anywhere else, wasn't he? Though, Felicity felt many ideas could be argued against this particular idea, she didn't much think Hogwarts was the safest place, not when the Deva had gained accessed as it was. True, there were rumours about the previous Headmistress being in on it, but that didn't make the school any more safe now that she was gone, did it? The blonde didn't think so.
"It is my fault though. If I hadn't wanted to leave, none of it would've happened." Tilting her head back a little further so she could properly see him from underneath their hat, she tried to catch his eye. In the end, no matter what, the beginning of it all was her fault.

"That doesn't make it your fault though," Drew insisted, already feeling like they were going to end up arguing in circles again. He really didn't want that, but he wasn't about to back down and let Felicity feel like she was the one to blame for any of this, not when it wasn't even remotely close to being all her fault.
"Okay, so yeah, maybe you wanted to leave, but that wouldn't have happened if... if Shaw hadn't been there in the first place," he said bitterly. "If you want to blame anyone, blame him."

"All right," she looked at him a little strangely. "It wasn't my fault I wanted to leave, but it's still my fault for coming up with a crazy scheme and then being taken in front of him." She was willing to agree it wasn't her fault for wanting to leave, she was sure just about everyone had wanted to. After all, they hadn't showered for a while, and it wasn't nice not being clean for such a long time. And on top of that, families were worried, or at least her mum had been. Meadow hadn't told anyone else about it except Felicity's sister Meredith.
"And Drew, I do blame him for doing it, but I don't blame him for my own trouble-causing. It's not his fault I talked Celina into trying to leave with me. And it's my fault for making Celina's family be brought into it all. If I hadn't tried to leave, then he wouldn't have threatened her family."
Felicity understood what Celina had done, she would've done the same she thought. It was all a matter of being put into a situation that was unexpected, and it really had been quite unexpected.

"I'll give you... maybe... maybe I'll give you the scheming part," Drew told her, doing his best not to get overly upset by her calm acceptance of guilt. At least she was admitting Shaw's part in it. "But still, it wouldn't have happened if they hadn't been there to begin with. You didn't cause trouble. You were reacting to the trouble he caused. And you getting taken to him? That wasn't your fault either. It was whatever bas...sketcase sold you out."

A little confused as to why he was only possibly agreeing that the scheming was her fault, she let him finish before saying anything or allowing any of it to precess fully. But she couldn't agree with what he was saying about it not being her fault for causing trouble. It was her fault, she was the only one who had reacted the way she and Celina had tried to, so there wasn't anyone else to blame on that. She could blame Raynor ultimately, but she knew Drew would probably get even more defensive if she did that.
"But I did cause trouble Drew," she argued lightly. "It wasn't like someone was forcing me to scheme, that was my own fault. Not even his fault, but my own." It was a point she wasn't willing to give up on. She had caused trouble, she was punished for causing trouble. However, she thought that punishment had been a bit extreme, but she'd remember that lesson, wouldn't she?
What happened was what happened. It wasn't Shaw's fault she schemed to get away, it was hers and Raynor's. It was her fault for Celina's family being threatened. It was her fault for many things, though it was that man who did what was done.
