Oh goodness. Was she going to have to endure a chase through Diagon Alley? This wasn't looking good in Shay's eyes. What she saw was that maybe the girl tugging on Alfonz's sleeve was really trying to avoid Shay as much as possible. It definitely couldn't have been some unforseen beau of Alfonz's because she had similarities to him, so she had to be Celina. But had she known about her having to bail out on many things and just didn't want to even meet her?
She could have considered to stop her walking and go the opposite way, but she continued her walk. The many people between them seemed like a sea for her to dodge and weave, but she was trying her best until she was close enough. "Hey," she said simply, forgetting a floorplan for words, and just going with simple phrases until she could find something of worth to say.

Alfonz did see who it was and wasn't angered. Though at the same time, he wasn't pleased. It was too soon. He hadn't even allowed for Celina to have any information about the young woman that Alfonz had been....seeing.....or whatever kind of relationship they'd had. Her owls through her absense were comforting, even though he was sure that his did little to please her in any way. To tell anyone the truth, he had been avoiding Shay with all of his might, so when she had work come up unexpecttedly as it did, he was releaved.
Though, now she was walking towards them. Celina was pulling him away but he just stayed in place. What could he do? If he left, Shay'd be annoyed and wouldn't understand. He knew he had forgotten to do something. "Celina, she's a friend....but next time we go out, you put up that damn hood on your robes. I have told you more than once to do as such, and if those pictures get into the....." Shay by that time had made it to them and smirking at her genuinely Alfonz nodded his head toward Shay.
"Shay, how have you been?" he asked as he put his arm around his younger sister. He could feel her body lose it's tension as he said the woman's name. "I do hope those pictures are just for your own.....uses." Alfonz smirked. It had really been to long.

"Ah yes. Safety through lack of exposure," she said to him, expecting him to know what she meant, but it wasn't like she would elaborate it further. That would just be bad timing. "Most of these are for my own use, not the Prophet's. Although I do like to use some for my resume's portfolio."
She knew she would have to make that explanation before going into introducing herself. She smiled at the girl. "Celina, right? I'm Shay Loire." Finally, she had anticipated meeting her.

Celina shyly leaned into her brother and smiled brightly. This was Shay? She was really pretty, a girl, and Alfonz was talking to her like she was an actual person. It was almost to overwhelming for the young girl, so she held tightly to her brother. A slight shade of pink started to caress her cheeks as the woman went from talking to her brother, back to talking to her. Shay knew her name? How much had Alfonz actually hang out with this woman?
"Hi," Celina shyly spoke. "I'm glad to finally meet you. Your Alfonz's friend." She could feel Alfonz tense at her statment but after her conversation with Allegra (that Alfonz knew nothing about) Celina had to make sure that what was happening was real. "Because I mean....this is rahter....umm....brilliant." Alfonz actually had a friend. Celina would never have thought it.

Shay's smile twitched just a bit at the one syllable of a description. She knew she missed out a lot after their date, but it wasn't like she forgot about him. Not having time to spend with him only elongated that gap of minutes it took from the last time she saw him to now. And she was a.... friend? "It is amazing, I would say so myself," She repeated in wonderment, but it was just ever so slightly different than Celina's.
Friend....?
"So how are you doing, my friend?" Her spanish-accented words reflected as she looked up at the qudditch player and just stared. "Sorry for not being around the last few weeks.... friend."
Friend....?!?

"Celina!" Alfonz hissed softly at his sister. Though, it was much to late as when Shay answered Alfonz knew that he was in the crup house for sure. "Shay.....it's not like that...." he said a bit mumbled. She didn't understand. Alfonz had not talked about her. He had issues to deal with that when it came to Celina and Alfonz would not allow her to be used as a tool that Celina could argue with him about. It wasn't the same, there relationship and Celina's with her friends. They were not the same.
"Celina, why don't you...a few minutes is needed...." Alfonz just looked down at his sister and gestured to her with his head for her to beat it. "Don't go to far." Celina nodded her head reluctantly and went to look at a booth just a few feet away. As she left, Alfonz looked back to Shay. "What's wrong?" he asked her, not really knowing what had happened other than a term such as the word 'friend'. It wasn't as if they had put a label to it.

Shay thought this over too much. She had let it stew too much in her brain over the past few weeks, and she had put her hopes up that maybe they were more than friends. Oh, those circumstances were against her. She was even sure that Allegra wasn't keen on the man who stood before her, the man who seemed to try to forget her in the few weeks she had other things to do.
"I would have thought she knew something of me by now," Shay responded truthfully, but not directly. "You know, because I know a bit about her now." They were vague details, but she could pick the girl out of a crowd by now, right?

Getting a bit closer Alfonz noticed that Shay was taking the vocabulary term of 'friend' a bit more than he thought even was possible. What was the issue? Alfonz was becomming a bit more frustrated faster than he usually would have so soon. "Shay, there's reasons....I was going to talk to her about you....but you must understand that there....." The whole winter break Alfonz had stormed out of his apartment more times than he'd like to admit. He'd left Celina crying one to many times after arguments about the friends she had.
"Shay...," Alfonz said, attempting to put his hands on her elbows. "I can explain....just...calm yourself."

Calm herself? "I'm practically the image of serenity right now." She had said everything with the levelness of her voice. No smile, yes, but come on-- calm herself? "If I wasn't calm, you wouldn't know what to do with yourself." She hadn't meant it in a threatening or psychotic way, only in fact. Of course she had the ability to have an unreasonable temper, but she wasn't going to just hash it out because she could. I know what I got myself into, she told him in her mind.

"I understand that, I was just saying," Alfonz wasn't sure what he was saying actually. "But I wasn't about to tell her so that she too, could use that knowledge against me. I have to direct her the right way...." This was not how he had planned Shay and Celina's meeting to go. At all.
"I....I haven't.....had anything more than just a friend.......in.....in a while," Alfonz stumbled over his words, looking around as he did so that he could see if anyone was listening. "Celina....she....." Alfonz sighed. He shouldn't have to explain himself. But why then was it that he felt as if to her, he should or had to?
Then a horrifying thought came into his head. "So....how are your roommates?" Changing the topic? A bit...but what if they had told her what had happened at the bar? Just another thing to explain....but wouldn't she have inquired about that first? Alfonz didn't allow himself to panic as of yet. There was no reason to.

Shay had already scooted herself back a bit from his reach, but she was attentive to what he said. Sure, there was always a threat of being teased, but that's what siblings did, right? She couldn't see why he didn't let her have that bit of fun. Of course, she didn't have total empathy because she didn't have an actually close sibling (except for the baby stepsister an ocean away), but she had something close enough. It was just a matter of being really comfortable of saying anything to your loved ones. Why couldn't he see it like she saw it?
"They're good," she replied, but wished she didn't skid over them like she did. She knew Allegra was doing pretty well, and so was Brittany considering her job in the Daily Prophet, but she wasn't sure he actually wanted to hear any of that. "And your sister? She doesn't seem so distraught with friendship problems."

Alfonz stopped a bit. No, at the moment Celina seemed fine, but it may have been because she had now met Shay and probably had a billion questions for her. And on top of that he had gone out to Diagon with her, something Celina had been asking to do for a few days now. He looked over at Celina who was checking out the booths and sighed. "She's content at the moment. When it comes to the problems, she denies them. And no matter what I say, she won't listen." It was highly unusual for Celina to not listen and follow whatever Alfonz said. He knew best, afer all, and Celina used to know that as well. Alfonz felt like he was losing a battle, and with no new developments or changes, Alfonz felt that something more needed to be done.
One thing, however, did comfort him, as Shay moved away from him she still didn't mention any of the events that Alfonz had gotten himself into. He silently thanked Merlin and rubbed the back of his neck with his hand. "I'm sorry, I should have explained to her about us....however, lately ever conversation Celina and I have had......have...have ended rather unpleasently." Alfonz said no more. Even that much, was not anything he liked to admit out loud. Not even to himself.

Shay tucked her camera close to her with one hand and swept her hair back with the other. She tilted her head at him, as if somewhat understanding. Maybe he was lacking something she had. "Would you like me to talk to her maybe? Maybe she wants a fresh shoulder to lean on." Of course, she was one of those people that could be depended on in those things. She was somewhat like a mother back in the Gryffindor house. Always a shoulder to cry on.
"I wouldn't mind at all. I'm sure I could talk to her before she leaves for Hogwarts," she began to smile a little again, as if assuring him no malice or vengeance. She just wanted to help.

Alfonz tried not to look as if Shay's suggestion was not even an option. What would she tell Celina? Would Shay return to Alfonz with the information the two shared? Or would it just be between them? No. Alfonz just didn't see how bringing another person into their business would help much. However, as he looked back to Celina he didn't know what else to do.
"I'm not sure...I mean, thank you....but...." Alfonz couldn't even find a reason to say no. "Would you tell me? About what is said? I'm just concerned..." Alfonz was more than concerned, but Shay didn't need to know that. But she did need to know that he was serious.

"I would tell you," Shay assured him, but she wasn't about to mention that if Celina wanted something kept between the two of them, then so it would stay. She wouldn't be so keen if she were in her shoes. There was a big value in privacy in her eyes. "But don't you think you need another alternative if what you're doing is not working?" She shrugged up at him. "You can trust me if you want to."
