Trust? Now that was a concept. In all of Aflonz's lilfe there were only a few people he had ever trusted. One happened to now hate him and at every chance the man had, he was after Alfonz. But Roger Bauber was his own man, and Alfonz knew how to handle him. But between him, Celina, and his parents, Alfonz had not allowed anyone close enough to himself, let alone Celina. Alfonz's eyes drifted to the ground, however, it hadn't been often that he had allowed himself to get so close so another. After Celina, Shay was probably the most trusted person Alfonz had.
"It's not a matter of trust....rather, security. I'm afraid those she makes friends with, will only end up getting her hurt." Directly or indirectly didn't matter to Alfonz. If Celina was hurt in any way, there would be someone to pay for her discomfort. Even now, as much as he had broken her heart with their topics of discussion, he felt the pain of doing so and in turn was paying for it. "If she had known....she would have not understood why I do believe that her friends are not as....worthy....as I find that you are to me." Alfonz's voice was low, as if it were a secret that he was telling her, and he made no eye contact. Standing tall, he watched as Celina pulled out her change purse from her robes, and he smiled.

Her eyes followed his and she nodded. "You say what you'd like. My offer still stands." Again, she was unable to agree with him when it came to his sister... but she still wanted to help. Maybe it was more overwhelming to him than he'd like to admit.
Just to be sure that it was a decent moment, she looked around, and grasped his hand. It was just one of those moments in which she wanted to look him deep in the eyes and honestly tell him that she cared for him. And she would have... yet something was keeping her back.

Why did she want to help so much? Alfonz just couldn't grasp why anyone would want to help someone who had nothing to do with themselves. Sure, he and Shay were in a relationship of sorts, and eventually that meant that she would have to enjoy the company of Celina, that much was fact. But already? With barely even knowing her? Not to mention, Alfonz knew that Shay and his opinions on how to help her were completely different, and ultimately that could screw his teachings up for sure. And, with Celina rebelling as she seemed to be, Alfonz just didn't know what to do. Yes, he was a bit overwhelmed, but he'd never say it out loud.
A hand grasped his and brought Alfonz far away from the thoughts he was in. Looking around, not realizing Shay had just done so, he brought her hand close to himself as to hide it from the outside world. A secret passion he shared with only her, and that's how he'd like to keep it. A secret. He turned toward her, meeting his stormy dark eyes with her hazel eyes. Why could he not even admit to himself how much this woman meant to him? Alfonz tried to smirk, and say something, but nothing came. Why he couldn't say went beyond him and who he was turning into being.
His father's voice rang in the back of his mind. Halfbloods.....you know what they are? They are lazy and they are users. They use pureblooded wizards and witches to do their bidding. Threatening us with the magic that we gave them the privlage of knowing....it wasn't ever their right! Remember that, my boy. And also remember this...You-Know-Who was halfblooded....and we all know where that got us. Now don't we....

Celina was a bit bored and with a new blue bracelet she wanted to rejoin her brother and Shay. Had she started a fight between the two? Looking back, she could see them discussing something but she couldn't hear them. Celina's expression crossed with a bit of worry, but then it died into her excitment as she saw that the 'friend' Alfonz had was now holding on to her brother's. Just a friend? Right... Celina thought to herself, an innocent kind of look crossed her face as if she had seen nothing as she walked back to the two and smiled brightly.
"Is everything, ok?" she asked, her eyes darting back from Shay and Alfonz's faces and then to their hands.

The warmth that came to her cheeks gave her relief from the cold but it also made her dizzy with delight. Many weeks had come between them, and there were only a few reminders to bring back his physical being. Yet to be in front of him again, where she could return to having her heart pump heavily and fast... it made the wait just as fine. They had their moments of distaste, confusion, internal chaos, and clash. But many more moments were filled with just a strong desire to kiss him again.
Ah, but circumstances change from time to time, is that not true? This wasn't the muggle world where they were no-names. The wizarding world enveloped them, consuming their information and tagging them for others to point out and see. Her eyes didn't want to search that of others, so they kept with his. If she were bold enough, she would have his hand come to her heart to hear what she only heard. The idea seemed lame, though, and she brushed it off with dancing smile. "I did miss you," she said in a lingering voice. It seemed rather jumpy in terms of tones, but their human contact seemed to melt her. He was getting so good at that.
Her hand didn't stay too long with his as she heard the voice of Celina. Why she was the first to jump back was beyond her. Maybe she wanted a good impression. She looked at Celina and gave her a smile. "Just... catching up with your brother," her hand slid to cradle her camera with ultimate care. However, the position of security seemed rather... rude? She held out her hand for a handshake. "Sorry. I'm Shay, Alfonz's neighbor."

She missed him? So close to her, Alfonz felt his other hand slowly make its way to embrace the photographer just a bit more, but then she was jumping away from him. He had hardly noticed why until he turned to see where Shay was looking and speaking to. Celina had come back from the booth, and he did his best not to growl at his younger sister. Could she see he was having a moment? Wait....did he actually want her to see that? No, and so he cooled himself a bit.
As Shay told Celina they were catching up he almost wondered how much of their conversation the younger Jedynak had heard or what she had seen. Out of the crowd, it would have been her that would find the two the most interesting. Shay stuck out her hand, and Alfonz nodded at Celina telling her that everything was fine. "Why concern yourself with problems that are not your own, Celina. You know that is what gets you into trouble at school..." especially with those friends you have Alfonz thought to himself, not speaking anymore out loud. His glare at his sister told all.

So, there was nothing wrong, but with how fast Shay had pulled away from her brother, Celina knew that there was just more than friends or even neighbors going on. Taking and shaking Shay's hand, Celina couldn't help but say something about the neighbor bit. "Oh, so like the girl next door?" Celina asked softly and giggled shyly. She couldn't help it if she wanted to joke about somethings, and it wasn't everyday that she saw Alfonz hand in hand with a pretty girl. That was almost as good as her actually having friends, finally. To Celina, it didn't look like she was the only Jedynak that was doing some changes in the last few months.
Though, as she listened to her brother's warning, she nodded to him and backed off a bit, looking at the ground. She still smiled, but it seemed forced. Twirling her new bracelet on her wrist she decided that it would be best to bring the attention back from where she had placed it. "Look, Alfonz," she said as she held out her wrist, "Isn't it pretty?" She looked toward Shay for approval as well.

Like a magnet, Shay's eyes flew sharply at Alfonz's, getting a shock from a culture not her own. "Fortunately for all of us, there are no problems, so I think she can be part of the conversation as she'd like." It was something short of a snarl, but it was just matter-of-fact in her voice. She kept her own tidbit at there, but with the glimmer in her eye, it was clear to see that she had more where it came from.
Her eye did catch blue bracelet, though and she tilted her head at it. "It's beautiful! Are you showing off some house pride?" She noted the color, and from the first time she met Alfonz, she noted it in their conversation in the Leaky Cauldron. It just didn't occur to her after she said it though that maybe it was some information that she shouldn't have leaked.

Alfonz had every intention to respond to Shay's snarl with one of his own until Celina put out her wrist to show them her purchase. Alfonz just couldn't understand why Shay couldn't stay out of issues clearly not her own. Trying not to glare at Shay, he turned as much of his attention to Celina as possible. "Ah, blue. Don't you think you have enough items in your possession that is blue? You'd think it was your favorite color."
Alfonz knew, as well as Celina that pink was in fact Celina's favorite color but ever since she had been placed in Ravenclaw, she had grown quite a liking to royal blue as well. As Shay asked about her house pride, Celina giggled a bit and nodded shyly. Or was it because she didn't really want to start anymore arguments of sorts between the two older people. Looking up ahead, a man was yelling out for a demonstration he was about to do. A wizard clown of sorts and Celina became somewhat excited. "Alfonz, may I?" she asked pointing over in the clown's direction.
He scowled a bit, not wanting Celina to be seen around such idiotic creatures, but at the same time he found he needed yet again time alone with Shay. "Put your hood up, and say nothing while you watch." Celina nodded and followed his commands before running off.
Turning briskly and stopping almost immediately, he placed a tight, but not hurtful grasp on Shay's arm. "If you wouldn't mind," Alfonz was a bit more irritated than he had once thought but he needed to say something before whatever he and Shay shared progressed. "next time you like to have your own say against my own, I'd appreciate it not to be done in front of Celina." Turning his gaze onto Shay his eye brows furrowed and he filtered his other hand through his hair. "I'm having hard enough time controlling her as it is without you showing her it's alright to act against what I say."

Her eyes followed Celina as she went to watch the clown. Her opinion of the girl was steadily rising, and it had made her smile more geniune. That is, until Alfonz put her aside to basically tell her to step off. "I'm not so sure I can," Shay said, pulling her arm from him after hearing him out. She almost wished she didn't hear him, though, because she could suddenly the temperature in her blood rise to boiling heights.
"Especially when your 'say' is just...." She looked to the side and sighed, trying not to gain some curse words in Spanish or something. Her eyes flashed towards him again. "Suffocating and insufferable."
There was just something about it. She couldn't let it go. Already the girl she met was pretty much the sweetest thing alive and Alfonz wanted to hinder it. "I'm telling you-- the way you're going with 'controlling' her... it's going to make her cold and automatic." Everything about her made her look like she had deep resentment for Alfonz. It was far from it, though. She had seen a slice of heaven through his eyes. She couldn't see why he couldn't just share it more openly, especially towards his sister. It was a problem that wouldn't get away from her head.

"You can, and you will," Alfonz shot back quickly as he lost his grasp upon the girl's arm. Alfonz's blood started to boil. What right did this....halfblood woman have when it came to how he helped prepare his sister for the future that laid ahead for her. He could not protect Celina from the friends she made, so he had finally figured that he had to change the world she grew up in or at least prepare Celina for it.
"Suffocating and insufferable? You have no idea what I am doing. I am preparing her for the future. A future that will eat her up because of the path she has taken. I am making her stronger as an individual, and you....you have no idea the opression she will face as who she is." His growling became more vicious with every word as he tried to control his anger. All he needed was to slip with a word he dared not let enter into this conversation. Shay had no idea how lucky she was to even be a witch this day an age, and Alfonz would not allow her teachings and charity to influence Celina.
Alfonz stood tall infront of Shay, almost daring her to say another word. He ignored her cold and automatic statement. If that was what it took to make Celina obey, then so be it she would be cold, and automatic. She had to many emotions in Alfonz's opinion. Crying at every little argument. She was weak and needed to be toughened up. He would do that, and no body would come in between that goal. Not even Shay Loire.

"You make it sound like no one else lives life but you," Shay narrowed her eyebrows at him. "Yet how can you? Sure, yes, you're an athlete... but you don't do everyday work. I'll tell you this, I don't think you're hardly qualifiable--!" She could feel the sting in her own words, and already imagined them being thrown at her.
That was one stumbling block, but just going back to the moment two minutes ago, she was getting revved up again. She began again in a hoarse warning. "Your form of 'preparation' IS her oppression! You are just too... too... pig-headed to see it!" She literally held back her tongue to keep from saying more. It was just the kind of adrenaline she didn't want right now. Her temper rose to such a height.... she just couldn't see any of this as fair.

Alfonz held himself as formidable as he could. Celina was still amused by the clown and there was no one to tell him to play nice that he'd even listen to any how. There was no more nice left within him, between the auror, and now Shay? What else? What else could possibly.....and then she spoke again. She did dare and Alfonz hated her for it.
"Real work?" Alfonz vicously stated. "How would a halfblood like you, whose been given everything you know, know anything about real work?! We won't even talk about your job. If it wasn't for those who fought to keep your kind around you wouldn't even know what potential you have." Alfonz's heart twinged a bit at his statment while his mind told him that 'it was about time.'
Alfonz no longer wanted to continue anything with this woman. She was surly the destruction that would tear himself from Celina and he wouldn't have it. "Don't you dare tell me how to raise my sister. You don't know anything of what opression really is. Celina is happy...I make sure of it. And as for being...pig-headed, my dear," Alfonz stopped to look directly into Shay's eyes, hoping to catch them and show her how furious he truly was. However, he also feared that they'd show some sadness of this discussion. "...you haven't even seen the half of it."

As soon as he spouted out the slander towards her, she was just driven up the wall with it. Is that what he think he thought of her? Just some brat who had everything handed to her, everything was laid out for her, and she was taking it for granted? "What kind of-- maldito sea!-- That's what you see me as? Some lap crup who slops up everything is given to me?" She came out with a line of Spanish words, all which ended when he spoke again. It was all these words, all spoken in a sense that boggled her mind. She didn't want to victimize herself, but she wasn't about to agree with what he said. He plainly put her and all of those with muggle blood in a bad light, and she couldn't handle it. All she wanted to do was cause some physical damage to him, too.
"I may not know much about siblings, but I've got more common sense on the tip of my wand than you have in your entire body!" She could only step up a bit to try to meet his height, but her eyes were the same fierce. They honestly looked like she wanted to cause him damage. Only later would she feel the bruising of all of this... the bruising of her sentiments towards him. "Don't you ever question anything of me, because you should see by now I'm much more capable than you think." Her words were dead serious, and alit with a fire.

In fact, he had seen much more in Loire than any other woman. It was the only reason he had given her the time of day. "Hypicrite," he stated in a low growl looking down into her fiery eyes. That's what she was. A hypicrite. A double standard, halfblood.....and more colorful words that Alfonz kept to himself. She was telling him now not to question anything of her? Yet, she had the right to question anything of him? Including the way he protected his sister? Not happening. Not at all.
"I can't believe I gave you the time of day..." he said silently to her and turned away from her. It was somethiing that the Jedynaks were known for. Walking away. A fight not won, nor lost, but in a sense it would leave the other burning in their own self hate. Alfonz's view looked down a bit as he stopped his walking. What are you doing?! You were doing so well!! his mind screamed at him. Celina looked back at him, smiled and waved. She turned back around to watch the clown again.
