January 14, 10:48am Hallways/Empty Classrooms
Closed
The previous night had been insane. Krissy had spent most of her time pacing back and forth between the tables, she hadn't had any sleep and it showed in her eyes. Her conversation with Alex had been, to say the least, interesting. But it had also left Krissy very confused, but they had decided no to talk the topic further because they needed to look after Lianna. They had agree'd to talk today but Krissy didn't know if she exactly wanted to. What was she going to say to him? She had made a huge mistake and treated him badly because she thought he was involved with someone who he wasn't and yet she still didn't even know why the whole tought of it gave her an iffy feeling. It was a rather difficult predicament.
Krissy had spent most of the morning either planning with the older students or comforting some more of the younger ones. She hadn't seen Alex at all. The time she had had left free between that she used to scout out the area. It seemed they had access to most of the ground floor, with alll exits out being guarded or blocked off and the courtyard too being blocked off so they wouldn't escape from it. Two guards seemed to stand at most doorways and others randomly patrolled the hallways. There were also two strange looking statues guarding one area.
Krissy had her backpack on her back and her wand tucked up her sleeve. She decided it was time to begin testing these security measures. Krissy ducked behind a slight bit of wall and watched one of the deva members stand guard near a door. Krissy reached into her pocket and pulled out a potato that she had snagged from the previous nights dinner table. She tossed it up in her hand and caught it. It was nice and solid. Krissy took aim, deciding that the member he could see the clearest would be the best target. She wanted to see how they reacted if she launched a potato at them. Shaw had just mattered cute but she was sure the others wouldn't react the same. Krissy cocked her arm back, potato clenched in her fist, preparing to launch it at the deva member.

Nerves shot for the most part, Alexander didn’t know what he was more worried about. There were Deva members everywhere, with wands pointed every which way, and then his conversation with Krissy that he still was supposed to have. He couldn’t deal, and needed to exorcise a bit. Stretch, walk around, he would have even run if there was room. Alexander didn’t even know what he was going to say. What did you say to a close friend when you found that your feelings for them excelled that of the “normal” friendship level? He sighed, shoving his hands in his pockets.
His skin crawled, and he wished so badly he could have had a shower. Alexander felt disgusting and that didn’t help his nerves any. Yes, Krissy. I like you…please come close and smell my body odor, he kept thinking to himself, wishing he at least had some deodorant to put on. He should have brought his bag to the feast. Alexander was known for carrying around soap and so on in there, at least then he would have been somewhat clean. But no, he had thought nothing of it. It was just a feast after all. Couple hours of eating and then a shower was to be taken. It would have been the third one of that day, if he had had it.
This was so terrible, and all he wished was for the Deva to get what they want and leave. What about his skin? Did anyone even give a damn about how eating this food, and not using his products could kill his skin? He’d have a relapse of puberty all over again. Damned be the Deva if it got that bad, Alexander would make sure of that. His irritation was starting to bubble as he caught eye of something, and almost freaked out even more when he noticed who was doing what and to whom.
Alexander dashed. Yes, dashed to behind where Krissy was, placing his hand over her mouth and the other on her arm to stop her from throwing another potato. Shaw didn’t kill her, but those Deva? Yea, he could see it happening. They had hexed a professor after all, no telling what they’d do. Pushing her somewhat roughly in the corner where she stood, behind the wall and out of the sights of the Deva, he unintentionally pressed himself up against the Head Girl, looking around the corner ever so slightly to see if in fact the Deva had noticed her….or them.
Seeing nothing he turned back to his friend. What was she thinking?!….again! “What are you doing?” Alexander whispered quickly, letting go of her mouth but keeping the potato arm at bay. “I’d like you to be at least conscious to speak with you…” he said with a slight smirk. He was joking, but serious at the same time. Did Krissy ever get the hint?

Krissy had been just about to launch her potato when a hand was placed over her mouth, her arm was gripped and she was dragged roughly away from where she was into a corner. Her ribs hurt a little bit from the movement. But It was both a good thing she had been going to throw with her wand arm and a bad thing. Had Alexander not grabbed her throwing arm, hence her wand as well which was tucked up her sleeve, he probably would have been hexed into next week. However that also happened to be the wrist that was wrapped up by the bandage. Alex had just grabbed her sore wrist. Krissy had grimaced and tried to yelp in pain, however with her mouth covered all it was was a muffled sound.
She felt herself pushed against the wall and that was the first time she actually knew who had grabbed her, she was both surprised and not surprised to realise it was Alex. Of all people who would grab her to keep her safe it would of course be him. He had her up against the wall and was pretty close to her. Tears welled in her eyes from the pain in her wrist and she tried hard to pull her hand away because it wasn't like she could just ask him to let go. Alex peeked around the corner and then must have decided they were save because he then spoke and released her mouth.
"..please let go" Krissy said quickly looking at her wrist which he had a firm hold of. The pain was obvious both on her face and in her voice. The pain was pulsing down her arm and through her fingers. She hoped he would let go. With the pain going through her wrist she would probably agree to never do it again just to make him let go.

If it wasn't the body odor that Alexander had to worry about, it was his all lack of common sense. He knew that Krissy was hurt, and yet he totally acted without even thinking, grabbing her hurt arm. He instantly let go, and was so apologetic he couldn't even say it with words. Her face looked as if she was about to cry, and her voice sounded just as tormented. "Oh, Merlin....Krissy, I'm so sorry...." not knowing what else to say, Alexander backed up a bit, still behind the corner but now off of pressing up against Krissy. He filtered a hand through his ruffled hair. Everything else was a mess about him, might as well finish off the hair as well.
He shook his head, mostly at himself and in utter embarrassment. "I'm so sorry," he muttered softly again, as he turned his head away from her gaze. It was horrible to think that he had actually hurt her. So, much, again, for the knight in shinning armor thing. Maybe he'd forget the silly stories his parents told him. Nothing fell together as easily as they had had it. Alexander was almost sure of it, and when he returned home next, he was going to ask them for the truth. There had to be more to it then the silly fairy tales they had been feeding him for sixteen years of his life.
The Deva stirred and as Alexander heard foot steps, he peeked around the corner again. The Deva had heard them? Maybe, but whatever they were doing, the two Deva stationed where they were, were leaving their posts and coming right to where Krissy and Alexander stood. Looking at Krissy frantically, Alexander tried the door that was next to them. The window on the door showed that it was an empty classroom. Probably not even used ever. But the door was locked. "Try that one, quick!" Alexander said as he pointed to the door just a bit down from the one he was at. Hopefully, it would open....one of them had to.

As Alex released her wrist her fingers unclenched from the potato in her grip and she pulled it into her, cradling it against her body. It was hurting, alot. She bit her bottom lip to try to restrain both from whimpering slightly in pain and crying. It was hurting perhaps more then what it had when she had originally done it. Except when she had originally hurt it she was to out of it to notice it too much and the pain from her ribs had overpowered it. The pain killers she had been given almost immediately afterwards had also hid the pain. "Its okay.." she muttered softly, but the look on her face showed she was still in quite a bit of pain. She stayed leaning against the wall, allowing it to support her weight a little bit. Alexander stepped back from her a bit so he wasn't so close but Krissy just stayed against the wall.
However it was only a moment after that Alexander seemed to panic as footsteps approached, Krissy assumed it must be the faceless or he wouldn't be panicking so much. He tried the door next to them and it seemed it was locked. Had Krissy known if they deva knew it was locked or not she might have just used a simple alohomora charm but not knowing if they knew it was locked or not she was not going to risk letting the deva know she had a wand on her. Krissy pushed herself off of the wall and reached the door Alex had indicated to in a couple steps. Krissy grabbed the door handle with her right hand, turned it and the door swung open. "Come on.." Krissy said, releasing the door and instead grabbing Alex's hand and dragging him into the room with her. Krissy shut the door silently but quickly behind her.
Krissy didn't know exactly why they had to run because she hadn't yet done anything wrong but Alexander seemed to want to be away from them so Krissy went with what he wanted. Krissy held her left wrist with her right hand, with her wrist leaning against her body. It was hurting still. "Think they'll fine us...?" she asked casually, trying to keep his attention off the fact she was still in a fair it of pain.

Alexander kept a watch on Krissy and the fact that he had put her in so much pain. The more she cradled her wrist, the more he just wanted to crawl under a rock. Some knight....some friend. As he was no in the classroom after being dragged there by Krissy, he sat on a desk. "Yea, I'm not even sure if they had seen us....I just....kinda paniced a bit. Sorry, 'bout that..." Alexander trailed off, not completely sure he was stil talking about the Deva anymore. "I really am sorry Krissy....I....I didn't even think..." concern swept over his facial expression, but he made no more moves to touch his friend in any way. He was too worried he'd hurt her more.
Trying to change the subject or find something else to talk about, he looked around the classroom and saw nothing much. The room was dark and the desks were just as empty as the walls. It looked lilke it had been unused for a very long time. Looking back with Krissy, he tried to meet her eyes an yet again apologize with them. What a great start to speaking with her, not that he knew what to say anyhow. "How has your morning been?" he asked, trying to sound casual.

Krissy moved and sat on the desk to the left Alexander. "Its okay" Krissy said softly to him her right hand gently reaching for his left. "I probably deserved it or something..." Krissy glanced at the floor rather then at Alexander. Her wrist was throbbing and she was just trying to not think about it. However it was extremely difficult. She kept it close to her body for the moment, not wanting to move it at all.
Alexander then asked about her morning. "Its been slow" Krissy said to Alexander, accepting the change of subject away from her and her wrist. "I've spoke to Drew some, and some others and been calming down some of the younger kids" Krissy had skipped breakfast too. But she wasn't about to tell Alex that. However had he gone to breakfast he probably would know. She also hadn't slept still. "How has yours been? Did you get any sleep during the night?" Krissy had spent the night pacing between tables and stopping to talk to the ones that needed it.

Alexander tried to forget Kirssy even saying that she deserved the pain he had unintentionally given her. Why would she think something like that? It was a horrid way of looking at it. Why couldn't she just accept that he had hurt her, and not think that for some reason it was her fault? He hadn't been careful in his trying to stop her from throwing the potato and in doing so, he forgot all about her injuries. As her hand reached for his, Alexander turned his upright so that their palms were now together. He liked it when her hand was in his own. It was almost as if he had a chance...almost as if, they were just a bit more than just friends comforting one another. And, he liked being that in someone's life. He had been before, but it hadn't lasted long because he was so young at the time. But, now, at an older age, he felt as if it was more the right time....though, it would only be a dream that it would be with Krissy.
"No, not much sleep at all," Alexander shook his head. He hadn't slept when they had parted. Tried, but had not. It was too hard to sleep in the Great Hall, and even now as his eyes were tired, he couldn't even think about sleeping. There was too much going on in his mind to think such thoughts. As he thought more about what she said, he nodded his head. Drew seemed responsible enough, and someone the younger kids would look up to for sure. It was a good idea that everyone was being kept calm. The older kids probably had it more together, which was a start in the right direction, and overall everything seemed to be good.
"I've been doing nothing all morning," Alexander confessed sounding a bit defeated. He was utterly useless, and there was no other way of describing that. "Just pacing the halls....and wanting a shower." He looked over at Krissy and smirked. She'd probably think he was joking, but still his skin crawled and he couldn't feel anymore disgusting than he already was. At least it wasn't keeping Krissy away from him, that was a plus.

Krissy was glad to feel the warmth of Alexander's palm against her's, more so because it was his palm which meant he didn't mind her grabbing his hand because he had flipped his to allow her to hold it better. She smiled slightly at the feeling of them together. He spoke of how he hadn't slept and she realised he was the same as her. Although he had no reason to be, he should have slept and gotten some rest. "You need sleep you know" Krissy said, still looking at an odd dirty mark on the floor. Neither of them seemed all that willing to begin the conversation that they had started the previous night.
It seemed his morning was spent better then hers. "I wish I could do nothing." she said half truthfully. Sure she would love to be able to do nothing but she would feel bad if she did because she wouldn't be doing anything to get them all out of this situation, which was something important that she needed to do. Krissy released Alex's hand so she could pull at the top of the bandage that was strapped around her left wrist. It felt slightly like it was too tight, perhaps because of the throbbing of her wrist. She was beginning to consider unstrapping it. Krissy had seen the smirk about the comment about the shower and wasn't sure if he was serious or not. Yes she had seen how often he took shower's at times, also she knew how many beauty products he used. She knew it was likely he could be serious. "I doubt you'll be getting a shower for a while" Krissy said to Alex giving him a small smile, with a slight nudge of her shoulder into his.

And as much as he hated to admit it, Alexander agreed. A shower in the time of a crisis wasn’t even plausible let alone, an option. “Unfortunately….I know.” He laughed a bit at the circumstance and watched as Krissy fidgeted with the bandage. He’d really hurt her, and now was feeling really bad. “Can I help in any way?” he gestured toward the bandage and tried to smile. “I want to help with something…” he trailed off and put his hands down. For being sixteen, Alexander had never felt as useless as he did right then in his entire life. It was rather maddening.
Looking around, he smirked, and his head fell to his chest as he looked at the floor. “I’m sorry, I didn’t know that you were upset yesterday.” Alexander felt as though he should apologize for the previous day, but as he did he didn’t even know what he was apologizing for. Was he not allowed to have other friends? That wouldn’t fly well with him, but he calmed himself. He didn’t need to jump to any conclusions. “But…I just wish I knew what I did…” he whispered and looked back toward his friend and shrugged, hoping that she’d at least tell him why she was so mad. At least with knowledge about it, he could find what was his friendship with Krissy was really based on.

When Alexander glanced to her wrist and offered to help she gave him a small smile. She was pretty sure he wouldn't have a clue who to wrap a wrist with a bandage. She knew because her mother used to be a nurse.. Well.. before things had gone bad. Her mum didn't work at all these days and just stayed home, her dad worked and earned all the money. Krissy unclipped the little clasp holding the bandage on tight and began to inwind it from her wrist. She wanted to rewrap it so it wasn't so tight. Krissy probably would have offered to teach him, however Alexander continued speaking.
He apologised. Krissy frowned. He wasn't supposed to apologise, she was. He hadn't done anything wrong. She heard is last words too. Krissy's frown increased slightly. She didn't even know what he had done. She didn't know why seeing him with the girl had gave her a funny feeling, but it had and she had treated him badly because of it. "Don't apologise.." she said softly looking at Alex this time. "Its me who should apologise. I'm sorry. I shouldn't have gotten upset or mad. I had no right..." Krissy's eyes dropped from Alex, she felt bad. But she didn't know what else to tell him. Krissy continued to unwrap the bandage around her wrist, trying to focus on that rather then look at Alexander, she was sure he would be upset at her.

Though it made no sense to him, Alexander figured that was just the way it was going to be. What did she get upset to begin with? Was it sometihng he could ask without getting a confusing response back? He was about to try it though. Especially as she continued saying she had no right in the matter to be upset with him. "But...why were you upset then...I just want to make sure whatever it is, it's ok now." Alexander reached out, touching her arm lightly so that she would stop wrapping for a moment and look back at him. He moved a bit closer to her, but not right on top of her.
As he sat there and waited for his response, he could hear the footsteps of passerbys but no one stopped at the door. It seemed as if they were safe in there for a while, which was pleasing to say in the least. He tried to smile at her, but it came out as a confused expression on his face. Alexander figured that he'd never know, but if he could get inside Krissy's head and figure things out...he might have actually tried.

Krissy had hoped he wouldn't push it any further. She didn't know what to say if he did. But alas he asked the fateful question of 'why'. Of all questions he could ask her, that one, she didn't know how to answer. How could she give him an answer if she didn't even know herself. All she knew was seeing him with the girl had given her a funny feeling. But she couldn't tell him that. It sounded stupid. He would probably think she was lying or something. Krissy bit her lip slightly. Then she felt Alex's hand touch her arm and felt him move a little bit closer to her. Krissy allowed his touch to stop her from unwrapping her wrist for the moment. Krissy turned to look at him. Her green eyes showed confusion, though she tried to keep the look of confusion off her face she couldn't keep it out of her eyes. She looked at him, noticing the confusion accross his face too.
"I.. don't know.." Krissy said quicetly, her eyes dropping from Alexander and her head turning slightly away. She wished she could tell him why, quell his curiosity, make him happy. But she didn't know why herself and so she was stuck. Krissy frowned, not knowing what else to say.

And that was that. She didn't know, he knew even less, and all around the both of them were utterly confused. Was their friendship alright? If she wasn't mad, and she felt guilty, then why did he too feel guilt? And why could he not stop thinking about her, or wanting just to make her happy? It was all too much for the huffle boy and he pulled his hand away and got up from the desk. Shoving his hands in his pockets, he leaned against the opposite wall and sighed. Smiling awkwardly he looked back at his friend.
"We're alright though, right? Like...I don...don't know...." Alexander stumbled over his words. What if they weren't alright? Would he have to leave right then, or would it be soemthing they could talk through? His parents had to talk things through lots of times. It's just how relationships between people seemed to work. But then, why did this seem more like a problem that couldn't be resolved right away? Confused, and trying not to seem like a wounded pup, he continued to lean on the wall, and not think.

Krissy felt him pull away and she knew she had done it. She had upset him. Would he just leave right then? Leave her in the room all by herself? He was probably mad at her or something, she knew she deserved it. She shouldn't have acted like she had the night before. She couldn't even tell him why she did. Would he just leave like everyone else had?Her eyes lifted from the ground as he walked away from her, seeing how far he was going. He didn't go far, just to the opposite wall and leaned against it. He seemed to not want to be near her. Alexander smiled awkwardly at her but she couldn't bring herself to smile back.
He stumbled over his words, Krissy didn't understand why. She didn't know what he wanted her to say. He was upset at her and asking her if they were alright? She would prefer if he would just come back over to where she was and they talk like they normally did. Why was this whole situation to difficult and confusing? Krissy paused, not sure what to say, and used that moment of time to remove the last of the bandaging from around her wrist. It was rather quite obvious that she had done more to her wrist then she was letting on. Her wrist was rather quite swollen and bruising was obvious in a couple places. She had hurt it again while in Australia while forgetting it was injured. Krissy let her robes fall over her wrist to hopefully hide it from Alex, least the bandage wasn't digging in any more.
"I think were alright.." she said softly. Krissy stood from the table, the bandage held in one hand. She turned her back on Alexander for a moment, her eyes glancing around the room. "If.. If you don't wana be near me.. I'll understand..." she said softly and quietly "...You can just go if you want..." Krissy moved her eyes to her wrist instead of around the room. It was still hurting and she would need to wrap it again in a little bit.
