After a few days of careful preparation Verina and Jack had finally decided to carryout their plan. She couldn't believe how nervous she was but at the same time she was excited for the unexpected that would lay ahead of them. They'd headed to the Leaky Cauldron since it was the closest place to the school that they'd be able to use the Floo Network. Considering she lived in MidWales their wasn't exactly too many ways you could get there and Flooing was the easiest form of travel especially since they were lugging around their trunks. After she'd told Jack to clearly pronounce "Elan Valley Tavern" she stepped into the flames and closed her eyes.
Verina slowly opened her eyes as she felt herself slightly shoved out of the fireplace by the force of her land. A soft smile came to her lips as she looked around Elan Valley Tavern and spotted the owner's son, "Hi Brian," she said with a smile as she looked over at him as she dusted off her clothes abandoning her usual school uniform for a comfortable pair of jeans and a t-shirt but had left her hair down since she knew her dad preferred her to wear it down though she found it usually just got in the way. She loved the tavern it reminded her of a cozy inviting place full of warmth.
Brian smiled as he spotted Verina's bright shocking blue hair, "Good day to you Miss Alvarez," he said knowing that she didn't really like being called a miss but he hadn't seen her in a while so he was entitled to some teasing, "And why weren't we informed that you were coming home missy?" Brian said though jokingly since he wasn't that much hrt senior since he'd just turned nineteen. As Brian was speaking Verina smiled and turned around as Jack appeared in the fireplace with a pop.

Jack was looking forward to going to Germany for the winter holiday. He had sent his parents a letter telling them that he wouldn’t be able to make it home for the holidays and that he would be remaining at Hogwarts or so that is what he eluded to. He hadn’t exactly came out and said that he was staying at the castle over the holidays because he didn’t want to out right lie to them, but it was probably no better to insinuate it. They would still be furious if they found out. Jack had packed his trunk as light as he possibly could knowing that he would have to carry it a ways. He had decided to take his owl too; so that he could send his parents letters. If they didn’t receive any letters over the holidays they would be suspicious and that is what he was trying to avoid. So with his trunk and owl cage in hand he made his way into the Leaky Cauldron after Verina to use the taverns Floo network.
“Got it.” Jack said smiling, “Elan Valley Tavern.” He then watched Verina step into the fireplace and disappear into the flames. After she had gone he took some Floo Powder in his hands and threw it into the flames, then stepped into the fireplace and negotiated his trunk and owl cage in with him saying clearly, “Elan Valley Tavern.” His owl would find him when they landed in one spot for longer than a day. He was confident that his screech owl would be able to find him. He’d gone by Floo Powder many times before and knew not to have anything sticking out that you didn’t want banged. With his arms tightly by his body and his eyes closed he felt himself slowing and threw out his arms to stop him from falling out of the fireplace. Stepping out of the fireplace in a pair of faded denim jeans and a bright blue sweat shirt he quickly dusted himself off and looked around.

Verina smiled as she looked at Jack covered in a light layer of soot, "You made it," she hadn't really doubted he would but she was feeling slightly excited about just being home. She moved her trunk out of the way so that Jack would have more room since he'd also brought his owl which hadn't surprised her one bit.
Brian coughed as he came over to the two, "And who's this?" he asked with mock seriousness raising his eyebrows in question as he looked at the boy. Though he smiled slightly when he looked at Verina.
"Brian...." Verina said using that voice that meant don't push it since she knew where he'd go with that and also giving him one of her looks. She wasn't sure why he was being such a pest at the moment then again wasn't he always a pest.
"Jack this is Brian," she said turning to him and rolling her eyes slightly at what Brian had said before turning to Brian, "and this is Jack."

“Ya I made it.” Jack said smiling and pulling his trunk and owl’s cage out of the fireplace. The first thing that he noticed was that Verina wasn’t the only one that was waiting for him, or at least seemed to be interested in his arrival. She seemed to have a friend with her. As the boy came over Jack just smiled a bit feeling a little out of place.
He just stared at the boy as he asked who he was. He wondered slightly why he would even care, but then realized that it must be someone that Verina knew. Just as he went to introduce himself Verina handled it and did the introductions for him. “Nice to meet you Brian.” Jack said extending his hand to shake his. He had seen her roll her eye and just smiled slightly still feeling a bit like an outsider, which he was. He had never been to Wales before unless you included just driving through it, which he was pretty sure that he had done with his parents at one time thought he couldn’t really remember it. He just remembered them talking about it.

"Pleasure Jack," he said with a grin shaking the younger boys hand, "Sorry about my welcome. Just wanted to give V here a hard time," he said scrunching his nose at her and then giving her hair a soft pull, "I'm shocked your hair is down and still blue."
He then smiled at Jack, "Always nice to meet one of her friends? Your friends right?" he asked humor glittering in his eyes before Verina stepped on his foot, "Oww.... that hurt," Brian said before laughing.
"That's what you get for being silly," Verina said with an evil grin, "Just ignore him he'll eventually go away," she said leaning closer to Jack and quietly telling him.

“No Problem.” Jack said shaking the boys hand and smiling. He thought that it was kind of funny that he was teasing Verina, but was a little taken aback by his next question. “Ya were friends.” he said with the hint of nervousness coming back in his voice, “We met at Hogwarts.”
He was wondering what other questions Brian could possible ask him and expect him to answer, but just then Verina stepped on his foot to make him stop. Jack was semi great full that she had, but he would have answered any question that the boy could throw at him to some extent, he had nothing to hide.
He just had to smile when she said that he would go away if they ignored him. He wasn’t bugging Jack that much, but something told him that he might start bugging him if he continued on asking questions and trying to embarrass Verina or him. He wasn’t really sure what he was after.

Brian couldn't stop laughing, "See Verina Jack didn't have a problem answering. You know i'm just teasing," he said before pulling Verina into a hug and spinning her around in a circle just because he knew she'd hate it, "Nice to have you back," With a mischevious smile he set her back down.
If Verina had feathers she'd be ruffled at that very moment. With a hand she brushed the hair that had fallen in front of her face back, "You know i wanna kill you right now. Right." she said looking at him with slight annoyance her eyes not matching her tone which held amusement in their depths.
"Well Jack it was nice getting to know you. You seem allright and if you evern wanna tick V off just do what i just did," he laughed after he said it wondering if the boy would attempt what he just had, "Wait you two planning on lugging all that luggage to the house?"

Jack just laughed at the two. It seemed that they got along pretty well. Still smiling he said, “Nice getting to know you too. I’ll have to keep that in mind and try it sometime.” With this he glanced over at Verina and smirked slightly. He probably wouldn’t ever really do it, but it was good to know something that bugged her incase he got the urge to mess with her.
“I suppose will have too.” Jack said glancing at him and Verina’s luggage. It wouldn’t be that hard he didn’t think. After all they only had the two trunks and the owls cage to carry, but he would be glad to hear an alternative if Brian had one.

"Did you hear that V," Brian said with a grin on his face as he looked over at her, "and if you ever do be sure to let me know how she reacts," he said with a laugh to Jack.
Verina's jaw dropped when Jack said he'd keep that in mind and try it sometime. At first she'd thought maybe he had been joking but then he smirked slightly at her, "Is it pick on Verina Day and i wasn't told?" she asked folding her arms across her chest with a slight pout before looking at Jack, "And we will not be trying that."
Behind Verina's back Brian mouthed before she could see him, "Do it. Shall be funny." Once Verina had turned back to face both of them he said, "If you like i could zip over there in a sec. and take them myself. Could even put them in your room if you'd like V and your dad wont be the wiser." Things had been much easier since he'd gotten his apparate license, "What do you think Jack?"

“I’ll make sure to.” Jack said with an evil grin looking back to Brian. He didn’t seem like that bad of a guy after all.
Jack then turned back to Verina in time to hear her remark. “Of course you weren’t told that would take all the fun out of pick on Verina Day.” he said in a joking tone with a smile spreading across his face. He just had to laugh when she started to pout. Obviously there was no such day but it was fun to mess with her.
Jack just nodded and then said, “Sounds great to me, if it is ok with Verina.”

"Now see what you did Brian?" Verina said her pout remaining as she looked at him. This hadn't been exactly her idea of how her arrival back in Wales would go. But at least it seemed Jack was having a good time though at her expense. Her mouth only gaped open like a fish trying to get air at Jack's words to Brian, "I thought you were supposed to be my friend."
"I can't believe it! Is Verina speechless," Brian feined mock shock, "Jack i think we just performed a miracle," he said before laughing.
Verina wasn't even going to bother making a retort to Brian because she had a feeling Jack and Brian would just gain up on her again, "Yeah. thanks i'd really appreciate it," she said before raising her eyebrows, "Just no funny business in my room."
"Never," Brian replied with a smile, "So what would you like me to take?" he asked both of them but mainly Jack since he also had his owl with him along with his trunk. It wouldn't be much trouble taking all of their things.

“I am your friend. Were just messing with you that’s all.” Jack said still noticing that he mouth was hanging open. He just smiled at Brian thinking that it would be best no to comment either. He didn’t want to start off the vacation with Verina mad at him, even though he doubted she would be because she could probably take a joke.
“It doesn’t matter to me.” Jack said glancing at his stuff, “If you can manage to take all of it I would appreciate it, but please be careful with the owl. He gets a bit stressed with new people.”

"I know," Verina said with a sigh and a slight smile to Jack. She knew they were both messing with her wasn't anything new where Brian was concerned though they hadn't known each other too long he'd made it his goal to be a pain in the but. Though he never seriously was which only made her smile.
"Sure i'll be careful and i can manage," Brian said with a grin, "And its nothing i was due for a break anyways and if my dad asks i'll just say its Verina's fault," he laughed as he added that last jab at her he couldn't help himself it was just too funny when she got upset plus he did have to make up for lost time.
Remembering how the weather would most likely be Verina opened her trunk before giving it to Brian to retreive her dark blue jacket, "Good idea its not too cold yet but it is pretty chilly outside so far only a light layer of snow has fallen," Brian said with a smile, "I'll walk you guys out and then i'll take off."
"Yeah good idea we should be getting on our way it is a short walk to the house," Verina said after she'd put her jacket on and handing her trunk over to Brian, "Ready to go Jack?" she asked with a grin.

Jack was just making sure that his owl was enclosed properly in it’s cage and that his trunk was still shut tightly as Verina dug in her trunk to find a jacket. He didn’t really know how cold it would be outside and thought that he too might want to get his jacket out of his trunk just incase. He was already wearing a sweat shirt, but decided to get his snow coat out. He didn’t have any idea how far away the house was from here and figured that he would be safe than sorry. Digging through his trunk he found his snow jacket and set it on the floor while he redid up his trunk.
“Yep all ready.” he said picking up his jacket and throwing it over his sweatshirt, “How far away is you house?”

"My house isn't that far but Brecon mostly consists of small towns or villages so most people go from place to place on foot even the tourists," Verina said with a smile finding mittens in her jacket pockets so she slipped them on one after another, "Most of the people that live here did so to get away from the busy atmosphere of London for example. We just have to go over this hill here and we should be there."
"On the plus side you'll get to see some of the country on our way," She said as they all walked to the door of the inn and stepped outside. Verina couldn't help taking in a long draught of air as she looked around the place was still breathless. As far as the eyes could see there were rolling hills and trees all freshly covered in a layer of snow. Along the hill travelled a river and even a little farther there was a lake.
"I guess i'll be off. Look after Verina for me," Brian said with a wink to Jack before turning to Verina, "Though i know she can take care of herself. You be careful and i'll see you two around most likely." With a smile he collected both their trunks and Jacks' owl. He reached into his pocket and pulled out his wand with a mumble of the words under his breath at apparate he disappeared.
"What do you think so far Jack?" Verina said with a smile taking her eyes away from the scenery to look at Jack and see his expression.
