Lily sat on her bed, legs crossed pretzel style. Her notebook was out in front of her, pencil in her hand, but nothing really seemed right to write. She pondered for a few more moments. She wished she wouldn't always have to turn to writing. Since she had come out of her shell a while ago, she had found it hard to write. But there was no one to talk too, she didn't want to burden Drew with her probelms any longer and sometimes a guy's advice wasn't always the best. She laid the pencil down on the notebook and rested her elbow on her knee, her chin on her hand.

Allegra ran up the stairs and tossed her books on her bed before diving under her bed to retrieve her art box. It was mostly crayons and water colors, but she also had a few colored pencils in there.
The perfect thing for planning out quidditch plays...
With a happy sigh, she pulled the box on her lap and opened it up, pushing aside the paste and scissors to get to the slim box at the bottom. When she retrieved it, she snapped the case shut and looked up, just noticing she wasnt' alone. "Hey, lily" she said with a small smile as she got up from the floor and started putting her things away properly.

"Hey Allegra," Lily said, looking up when Allegra came in. "What's that you've got there?" It was simple enough conversation, but then again, one just doesn't just straight into the heavy stuff right away.

"Pencils," Allegra answered, showing her the yellow and green box as she pulled open her dresser drawer and got out her playbook. "I was going to go over some of the plays and the colors help me keep everything organized.

"Are you inventing new plays?" Lily asked. "We've got to be on top of our game. I want to win the Quidditch cup this year. Goodness knows we probably practice more than any of the other teams, not that I'm complaining though, I like practice."

"Well, not inventing so much as um... borrowing them from the Ashwinders," Allegra answered with a grin. It was one of the advantages of having a cousin who played professional. Tad sent her notes every so often on new ideas they were trying out.

"Nice," Lily had to admit. "So that's where your secrets come from, eh? It's nice to know we've got an in with the pros, but we'd be fabulous even without them. It's all that hard work we put into it. All the heart we play with."

"Not all of my secrets," she answered with a smug little smile. While it was true most plays they used in the school leagues were rehashed from other teams, she had come up with a few on her own that actually worked well.
But of course, Lily had nailed their winning formula on the head. It really didn't matter if they had super secret plays or not. The secret to winning was the hard work her team had put into the game.

"Ahh yes," Lily said. "You deserve so much credit. You and Drew taught me to play Quidditch after all. And now look at me. I think I make a pretty good chaser. Well that's my opinion at least."

"You wouldn't be on the team if it weren't mine as well," Allegra answered proudly. It was her belief that one bad player could drag everyone else down. It was better to play one man short than have a weak link.

Lily smiled. That was a big compliment in her book. "I just try my hardest and give it my all. Put my whole heart into it. Quidditch isn't something you can play half-heartedly, or you're not putting forth the best effort you could be."

"Yeah," Allegra agreed. She wondered how the retrieval of her colored pencils had manged to turn into a full blown quidditch discussion, with Lily of all people, but she didn't say anything about it. "You've been working hard. It shows on the pitch."

"I've always been a strong flier," Lily answered, leaning back, legs still crossed into pretzel style. "It wasn't really as hard as I thought it might be crossing over into Quidditch. Just as long as I watch out for bludgers my aim's not all that bad."

"That's why we have the boys," Allegra answered with a wide grin. Hiro and Drew were an unstoppable pair of beaters. A pair of sharp ears and a pair of sharp eyes, there was no bludger that escaped them.

"They're really good at what they do," Lily agreed. "Without good beaters we would be nowhere. I know they've helped me out of a couple of tough situations." She grinned. She was getting along with Allegra.
