It usually happened about this time every year. It was too cold to swim in the lake and Drew was feeling dried out.
His mother had often joked that he was part Merman and while Drew knew it was just a tease, he sometimes wondered about why he could never stay far from the water. True, it probably had to do with growing up in Southern California, where a pool in the back yard was as common as a swing set and many natives learned how to surf before they got the training wheels off their bikes.
Still, while the rest of his family loved the water and the ocean, Drew NEEDED it, and during Scotland winters, he went through a major withdrawal. When it got to the point where he couldn't take it any more, you could usually find him in the bathroom, trunks on and submerged in one of the tubs. It wasn't the Pacific Ocean, but it would have to do.

{the description says there's no bath, but...oh, well ![:P](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/tongue.png) } Covered from head to toe in her blue cloak and even matching socks, Arianna stepped carefully into the room and walked straight to the mirrors. She stared at herself a long moment, barely able to see her face beneath the shadow of the cloak's hood, which she was about to push away from her face when she caught sight of the movement in the tub. "Hello?" she called out with a scratchy voice and turned to see who hid beneath the waters.

{stop being difficult. I need a soak}
The sound of voices startled Drew and he splashed loudly as he came up. When he finally realized who it was, he shook his hair out and grinned at her. "Hey! What are you up to?"

"Um...." Arianna shrugged. Her left hand lifted to scratch at her right arm, then fell back down to her side. "Are you decent? Or should I stay back here?"

"I got trunks on," Drew answered. He wasn't about to take a public bath without them.

Seeing that it was safe, Arianna moved to the edge of the tub and sat down.
"So, what're you doing?" she asked. "Besides sitting in the tub, I mean."

"Sitting in the tub," Drew answered with a grin and a shrug. That was really all to what he was doing. No one else ever seemed to understand the concept of being 'dried out' besides him.

"What? No bubbles?" Arianna asked, joking. "Where are the bubbles?"

"Guys don't use bubbles..." he scoffed, though he had been known to use them once in a while. Of course, no one needed to actually know it.

"Shame," Arianna shook her head. "But bubbles are so much fun."

"Well guys do get bubbles going in the bath, just not the same way girls do," Drew told her with a rougish grin.

It took only a second to understand Drew's meaning, but when she did Arianna scrunched her nose and exclaimed, "EWW!"
"The Cowboy Bubble Bath, huh?" she dipped her hand in the water and flicked it at Drew. "Just add beans to your dinner and wait thirty minutes."

Drew laughed and flinched at the splashing. "Hey, a guy's gotta do what a guy's gotta do," he answered. "So you didn't tell me what you were up to."

Arianna hesitated a moment, but offered a small shrug before pushing a sleeve back and holding her arm out.
"Wait..that's odd," she mumbled. Letting the sleeve fall back, Arianna pushed back the sleeve on her other arm. It looked normal, too. "It's gone..."

"What's gone?" Drew asked, frowning back at her. Whatever it was, it was obvious he hadn't taken it. ![:P](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/tongue.png)
