"Oh..." Drew answered, blinking from the surprise that he had actually heard the words correctly. "Thanks..." he continued, not knowing what else to say. It wasn't often he tried to give advice and someone told him he was right.

Arianna smiled crookedly at the boy, though she shrugged off his thank you. She wasn't sure how to reply to that anyway.
"I just...I've always wanted to be able to fly...on my own, you know?" she explained. "Without a broom or a carpet or even an airplane. As I read that book...I thought maybe I'd finally be able to do that. It obviously didn't work, though."

"You can't pick your form though," Drew toldher. "It kind of picks you. Kind of like your patronus... or your wand, I guess."

"Yeah, I found that out," Arianna snorted. It was just her luck that her form, whatever that may be if she could figure out how to do it, would be something she probably wouldn't be fond of.

"I mean, if I had my choice, I'd shoot for something inconspicuous, you know?" Drew continued. "Small, or ordinary... but everything I've done so far is pointing to the fact that if I actually do this, I'm going to end up being my patronus, like R... most wizards."
He had almost let it slip. She was registered, but still, most students didn't know the Deputy was an Animagus. Last he heard, she was hoping to keep it that way.

Arianna eyed Drew curiously. She caught the near-slip, but that wasn't what drew her attention.
"Wait...are there...things you can do to find out what your Animagus is?" she asked. If there were, she certainly wanted to know.

"Well, for starters, most wizards don't have one at all," Drew answered with a shrug. "And those that do, most of THEM just end up with their patronus. But yeah, there are a few things you can do to see."

"Yeah?" Arianna asked with interest. "Of course, I still don't have a decent patronus, so..." she shrugged slightly.

"So maybe you better practice on that before you go messing around with Animagi stuff," Drew answered, still worried about the whole lizard thing. If she couldn't do a patronus yet, why was she messing with more complicated stuff?

"Is there anyway you could help?" Arianna asked. Exactly HOW he could help, she didn't know, but if he could, she was willing to get as much as she could.

"It's just a matter of fine-tuning your good thoughts," Drew answered with a shrug. "And a lot of practice. If you practice enough, pretty soon you don't need to focus on your good thoughts anymore."

"I know all that," Arianna said, returning the shrug. She still felt there had to be more to it.
"So who do we need to see about this lizard thing?" the girl quickly asked before they could discuss her patronus ineptitude further.

"Either Raynor or the new nurse," Drew answered, shrugging back as he pulled on a dry shirt. "One of them should be able to figure it out and reverse it, right?"

"Is the nurse any good?" Arianna asked. She wasn't sure she could trust someone she hadn't met before. But the only other option could get her in serious trouble.

"She's not bad," Drew answered with a shrug. He had only met the woman once and while he didn't get an instantly good vibe off of her, he didn't go into a panic attack either.
Always a good sign when dealing with a new health care professional...
