" Oh, no. Trying out a new broom, actually. " Dan said in a sort of matter-of-fact tone. He motioned to the broomstick that was propped up againt the wall next to the entrance. " It's a better version than my last, " He said, looking over to his new broom, the handle gleaming in the fire light. " And well, " He went on, " It seemed like a good idea at the time. " Dan finished with a sheepish smile.

"We just might be in the same boat, then," Keagan replied, a few teeth now visible in her smile, but they soon disappeared as she continued. "Yet, at least you know how to fly."
That was the most embarrassing part; it wasn't so much being caught dancing without a partner, though that was troubling as well, as being caught singing.

Dan chuckled slightly, he didn't think Keagan's singing was terrible at all. Maybe not angelic, but it wasn't bad. He shrugged slightly, as though not being certain of what the right responce should be.
" Well, It's not so bad, " He decided on saying. It was a little bit akward... Only a bit.

"Meh," the girl mumbled, a slight pout to her lips, as she crossed her arms in front of her chest. Then, thinking a moment, she smirked...slightly. Very slightly. "So, Dan. You mentioned something about dancing?"
Though she was uncomfortable, she still had some of that wanton energy aching to be let out. And dancing really was better when you had a partner.

Dan couldn't help but see a trace of a smirk in her smile, and he even couldn't help it more to return it, " Oh, but I thought you weren't interested. " He said in a matter-of-fact tone to her. " But if you insists... " He trailed off a bit and without a word took out his wand and waved it in a semi- complicated movement, his pants and shoes let out hot air and were dry.

"On the contrary, my good sir, I merely showed concern at the absence of musical accompaniment." Obviously, personality is a hard thing to repress, even when embarrassed. Keagan could simply not help smiling and teasing, regardless of her emotional state. Smoothing a hand down the side of her uniform skirt, which was actually rather uncomfortable, Keag raised an eyebrow as the boy dried himself.

" Aha, " Dan said, moving across the room, " All better. " He commented with a smile, " And so, my dear lady, what shall we do about this absence of musical accompaniment? " He asked her, a teasing smile in place.

"Wouldn't that be your responsibility to provide, considering it was yourself who posed the invitation for a dance?" Keagan replied with a question, noting the tease in his smile and playing along with the jest a bit longer. Now that he had stood and come closer, Keagan was able to note the inch advantage the boy had over her in height. "Perfect pairing for dancing," she thought, smiling at the realization.

" Ah, right you are, m'lady. " Dan said with a swift nod as he pulled out his wand once more and looked around the room, finally spotting a musical box, it was covered in antique carvings and obviously meant alot to someone. He said a few choice words and the box opened and started playing a small tune, " Now, you pick the song. " He said, looking at Keagan with a smile as he waited for a responce.

"Indeed I am," Keagan replied, following the point of Dan's wand to the intricately decorated musical box. It really was a beautiful box, and Keagan wondered who from the house it belonged to. "Have you ever seen the movie Sleeping Beauty?" She questioned, the song from the forest the first one that came to mind. "It's one of my favorites, and the songs are simply delightful."

" Can't say that I have, I might have to look into that. " Dan said with a half teasing smile, " What did you have in mind? " He asked kindly, looking a bit expectantly at her.

"Well, from that movie there was a song 'I Know You' that was the first one that came to mind," Keagan replied, now getting a thoughtful look on her face as she turned back to face the boy with the teasing smile. "But there is also the song 'The Dance' from an American country music artist, Garth Brooks. Thing is, I know a lot of songs. It's hard to pick just one."

" I see... " He said, trailing off a bit as he thought for a moment, " Ok, how about we try this ' I Know You ' one first? " Dan asked, it was his little way of asking if she wanted to dance more than one song. Afterall, it was rainy, his broom was no help and no one else was around. That he knew of, anyway.

"Alright, let's do that, and then we can think of the next song when we come to it," Keagan replied with a nod, resolute in that path. She had only been expecting one dance, but if was willing to dance more than one, all the better. And all the more fun. Once again, she shifted the fabric of her skirt between her fingers as she remained standing in the same spot.

" No need to be so shy, Keagan. " Dan said to her with a comforting laugh as the soft first notes of the song began to play and he made his way over to where she had remained. He looked at where she was playing with her skirt and smiled slightly, looking back to her face.
