She hadn't intended to fall asleep when she sat down to 'rest' and yes she was only maybe fifty feet into the forest but when she had come to it was pitch black, perhaps 8:30, and she couldn't see the trail she'd came through to even get this distance.
She could, see the castle clear enough, it was the lights to her right...or were those fire-flies? This certainly wasn't good. When a twig snapped somewhere around her she jumped and turned her head quickly trying to spot whomever, or whatever, was there.
She was now officially scared.

(I officially declare this thread to happen the night Alhana comes back. Heh.)
Mostly out of being still to excited and exuberant to sleep, Alhana had wandered out of the castle in a t-shirt and shorts with little clouds printed all over them. It probably wasn't the brightest idea in the world to come out into the Forbbiden Forest when it was almost curfew and especially since her father had warned her to not do what she was doing, DOUBLE especially what with eveyrthing going on outside the Hogwarts boundaries. Dark times, dark times. She disobeyed, of course; she had a mind of her own and wasn't easily swayed.
It was her first night back and she would have tried hacking into the Ravenclaw tower if she hadn't told Drew that she wanted to settle back into the bunk that had her name on it in the Lioness Den. Quite by accident Alhana stepped onto a particularly large twig that had been hidden from her view, not only by the lack of light in the forest, by also by a dense cover of leaves. Her ears instantly perked when she felt, rather than heard, something move right ahead of her. Not being stupid enough to leave her wand in her trunk, the Gryffindor slid it out and gripped it tightly in her hand. She didn't move or say anything, just waited for whatever it was to reveal itself.

"H-Hello?" The girl cautiously (and stupidly) called out. In the troubled times they now were it was highly possible for anyone, or anything to be in the woods of Hogwarts. Swallowing, she found that her lips were now dry with fear, her mind racing trying to listen and figure out just where, and what was around her.
And more importantly what those lights were int he distance. She bit her lip to keep from murmuring anything further and pulled her robes tighter around her to keep the dropping temperatures off her.

Only feeling a small sense of relief that the thing in front of her wasn't one of the forest monsters that would surely rip her head off for a snack, Alhana looked away from where the voice came from to get a better look at the owner. The figue was tiny, but that wans't anything to go by. Tamis Raynor, the DADA professor, was small but very fiery- a woman whose's wrong side you didn't want to be on.
A new edge came to her voice and Alhana raised her wand as high as it could go and uttered the lighting spell, ready to smash the person's face to bits if they were someone they weren't supposed to be. Grey eyes squinted in the light to scrutinze the young face barely a foot and a half away and breathed out a sigh. She'd seen the girl that very day wandering the halls and was glad to recognize her.

When the area around her suddenly lit up she gave a small, quick, and surprised gasp when a face appeared so close to her. So startled was she that she not only fell backward but, fell backward into leaves, not just ground.
Finally finding words to speak all she could manage was "Who...are you?" She didn't know the girl (whom was obviously a student) but the first year was still in a clear state of shock that was in the process of dissipating.

Alhana cringed the instant she realized that she had reacted too late to keep Lianna from crashing backwards into a pile of leaves. The light revealed that the poor thing looked shocked to death, or at least that was what kind of expression that had planted itself on her face. She offered her hand palm up to the firstie to help her up.
"Terribly sorry! Didn't mean for that to happen." she apologized with a frown in her thickly accented voice. "I'm Alhana Starbreeze."

She blinked twice, the other girl's wand still lighting up the area around them. Accepting the hand up she pulled a leaf from her hair and looked at it for a moment. "Don't worry........about it...I er, hadn't realized you were that close." Lianna claimed initially as she listened to the girl introduce herself.
"Lianna Maylorn, wish we'd met under better lit, and, erm, less frightening conditions.." She replied with a small smile. The best she could manage.

Alhana let out a small laugh and nodded her head, and then grined slyly. "Fresh meat..I mean, only joking. What are you doing out here so close to curfew?" she asked, tilting her head up slightly to gaze up at the stars through the thick tree-tops. If the question was returned, Alhana wasn't sure herself what brought her way out here when there was a perfectly good library waiting for her inside, or a nice warm cup of milk in the kitchens.

The first year's eyebrow raised briefly at the girl's first words. But at her question she felt, she had to at least explain, even though the girl wasn't an authoritive figure. Besides, it was something to break whatever ice there was.
"It was still light out so i decided to walk a bit...figured this place wasn't so bad in the light...and when I stopped to rest, I guess I sorta dozed off, next thing I know, I wake up and its dark..." She claimed with a small frown. Every direction looked the same...
Dark.

"Fell asleep? In this place...not such a good idea, trust me." Alhana grimaced but then put on an easy smile again. A sudden idea popped into the Gryffindor's head and her face lit up into a grinnign expression. "How would you feel about being a testing subject?" she asked as politely as she could and still seem innocent enough. Sure, they dind't know eachother at all, but it would make the Starbreeze feel at leasta little bit better if her victims were volunteers.

"I didn't mean to!" She countered quickly, defensively, but still managed to hold a smile. That quickly however the smile dissappeared into an infifferent and cautious expression.
"Erm...what would I be testing?" She questioned quietly. Test subject? What was this abuot and more importantly what would she be getting herself into?

A disarming smile firmly planted itself on the foreigner's face an arm swung around to place itself on Lianna's opposite shoulder after moving to stand beside her. Alhana led her back in the direction where she ahd just come from, back to the castle. "Oh. Just experiments that I have going on. Don't worry, you wouldn't lose any limbs or become ill." she reassured the Badger.

Her head tilted to the left at the mention of 'experiments', this was going over her head and her worries were cast aside as curiosity quickly took over. Perhaps it was too soon, but hindsight would answer for her.
"Umm...ok?" She replied finally after thinking it over for a moment that was more like a split second. In over her head, maybe, but did it sound interesting, definitely.

"Really?" Alhana asked, incredulous. It was really that easy? Maybe she could con the rest of the first years into being her voulnteers. She recovered quickly and patted the girl's shoulder. "Good lassie. You first testing is due for tomorrow. I think I have one that would be perfect for you. Do you prefer pink, orange, red or blue, green, yellow?" she asked, giving her victim a rare choice. Not many recieved such a choice, really only Drew and her Nover, but since Lianna volunteered that earned her bonus points.

"I said yes didn't I?" She questioned with a small smile back at the older girl. Had she really just done something she'd regret because it sure didn't sound it. Not yet at least. but then again, nothing ever sounded like what it seemed anymore.
"Umm...definitely have to say blue..." she replied as she let the older girl, Alhana, lead on to where she wanted to go.
