Ryder stalked back and forth across the wet field. It was obvious he wasn't in a good mood and the rain wasn't helping any. If Ravenclaw and Slytherin had thought their game had been bad, this one seemed to be even worse. It varied between pouring and a light shower and, for the moment, the clouds had decided on staying somewhere in the middle. (Playing teams go here: Quizzies)

(Sorry for the low score guys; I'm in a rush. I'm going to be gone all weekend at a Confirmation retreat and since we don't have any subs, Krissy is going to post for me after this post. I hope that's okay, Ryder.)
Abigail hurried into the Hufflepuff locker room, a hood covering her head as she shook off the rain. She shivered both from coldness, wetness, and nervousness. Her first game after two or three practices, and it was in the rain. The horrible, nasty, gray rain with horrible visibility factors and slippery-ness on the broom to boot. Luckily, Krissy had informed the firstie of a sticking charm so she wouldn't slide off the broom. (She was desperately going to need it, anyway, for she had only just learned to ride a broom the week before.) Yes, Abby was the new chaser for the Hufflepuff Quidditch team. God only knew why.
She had seen only a few games of quidditch in her life, one being the Ravenclaw and Slytherin game. Her teeth chattering rapidly as she moved further into the dry room and over to her locker, Abigail awaited the other members of the team as she began to suit up. Oy ve, this was going to be interesting.

Krissy came dancing into the locker room. Having danced al through the rain she was saturated. But she also loved the rain, ok so she hadn't put the team through too much practises in the rain (only once when it slightly rained and she kept them oging for a while so they oculd get used to it) but she kenw that they would do pretty ok anyway.
"Hey Abi!" Krissy declaired happily. "Here" she said pulling out a themous and then pouring a cup of steaming hot chocolate for Abi. "I've been working on it, it should keep you warm all game so that you don't freeze while out on the quidditch pitch can't have ya getitng all cold now can I?" she said handing the cup to Abi. She had borught enough for her team, and more. Just so that they wouldn't all get sick, because she wanted her Huffle's nice and healthy.
Krissy began getting into her robes. She had already drunked some of the hot chocolate. She had brewed it specially, because she was getting much more better at potions as the days went by she didn't have too much trouble making a hot chocolate that warmed you up inside for a while. It should last at least half an hour, she could always call the game to a pause when it wore off, thought she would at least know when their's was going to wear off because her's owuld before hand.
"Todays gunna be a good game" she said happily to Abi.

"Aww I so to'ally hate rain. Tha first quidditch match of tha year for us and it jus' has ta' be rainin'." Roxy said taking a few running strides into the locker room of the Hufflepuffs.
She hadn't planned on playing but Krissy had recruited her at the last moment. She could fly, yes. But she hadn't been on a broom in ages. There was just something different about playing in the back yard of your friends house to playing an official game with a real team, and Roxy wasn't too sure how well she would go. Though Krissy had confirmed to her on numerous occasions that she coulf play well, after seeing her out one night flying.
"But maybe tha otha' team don' like tha rain as much as us an' so will be really bad"

Anna walked into the Gryffindor locker room to find that she was the first one there. She was incredibly nervous. She didn't feel very hungry at breakfast so she only ate one peice of toast before coming here. She stood in the center of the room for a few seconds before she went over to her locker and started to get changed. While she was changing she was wondering how long it would be before the rest of her team showed up.

Dan walked into the locker room ready to get ready for the match. He walked over to his own locker and started to gear up, putting all the correct padding and all on. When he was finally ready he sat down on one of the benches, wondering where the rest of the team was. While Dan sat he thought about the coming game against Hufflepuff. The weather wasn't exactly on their side but it wasn't really with Hufflepuff.

Anna finally finished changing and putting all the padding on. She walked out back to the center of the locker room, when she saw Dan, her fellow beater, sitting on one of the benches. "Hey Dan!" she started. Then she sat down next to him "I didn't hear you come in. Are you ready for this?" She tried her best to smile, but she was really nervous. Not only because of the game, but the weather too.

"Bloody hell..." Dias muttered to himself as he entered the locker room. It wasn't that he was nervous or anything, far from it...no he was scared out of his mind so much that the words "Bloody Hell" repeated in his head. Lum would most likely tell him to suck it up you have a game to play, but she wasn't here so it was hard not too.
He nervously went to his locker and quickly put on his uniform. He had a death grip on his broom and his eyes closed, he hoped he could focus enough to play.

With a small bag full of snacks and bottles of pumpkin juice, Arianna traipsed down the quidditch field, her warm cloak wrapped tightly around her. She was excited to watch the game and eager to cheer Krissy and Lianna on. Arianna might, if she felt the need, even cheer on some Gryffindors.
As she slid into the seats on the Ravenclaw side, Arianna peered through the rain at the only person on the field at the moment: a very peeved-looking referee.

Aston had heard all about quidditch already. Everyone seemed to think it was the coolest sport ever. Aston did love sports. Maybe not as much as Addison, but it like them and, of course, had to come out and see what all the fuss was about.
Struggling with his own cloak, which he wasn't used to wearing, the boy wandered out to the pitch and followed the only person he knew into the stands.
"They don't play in this, do they?" he questioned Arianna as he took a seat next to her and wiped off his glasses so he could see better. "It's bloody cold and wet!"

"Stop your complaining," Addison remarked, smacking his brother lightly across the head. He, too, had heard about the game and really had to see what was going on. Addison couldn't play, though he did sorta want to. He would virtually have been thrown in with no practice or any experience on a broom. "We play rugby in this stuff all the time back home."

Krissy grinned as Abi took the drink and took a big sip of it. She saw Roxy and then Dias come into the room. "Oh good, more of us" she said happily, worried about who would turn up and who wouldn't."Here both of you take this, it should help"
She noticed that Dias seemed really nervous. "Hey kiddo, don't worry" she said after handing Roxy a cup of her chocolate stuff and moving over next to Dias. "Here" she said handing him a cup, "It'll keep you warm for the first while in the game, should lasthalf hour or so, I'm hoping. Hasn't been tested to a great extent. I only just had time to get it working the other day, considering the weather I gussed our game would be in weather such as this. It'll help you. And don't stress you'll do fine. No reason to be nervous, I know you'll do a smashing job"
Krissy knew they were missing a beater and it worried her but she knew she could do the beater position on her own, she was pretty quick and could smack those bludgers pretty accurately and quickly.

Dan turned and managed a smile as he saw Anna coming. When she sat down he nodded and said, " Yeah. I hope the rest of the team arrives soon... " He trailed off, looking towards the locker room entrance as if he expected someone to walk in. With a shrug Dan turned back to her. " How're you? " He asked, he wasn't all that worried minus the weather acting up but... This wasn't his first game.

Post by Brittany Garland on Feb 26, 2006 14:50:33 GMT -5
Brittany stormed into the Gryffindor locker room. She now understood what Cleo had been going through all of those years that she had been Quiddtich captain. The girl must have ran her hand through her hair about a million times just in the three hours that she had been up that morning. Nervousness coursed through her body and to top it off she was angry. Nothing seemed to be going right for her that morning. She had spilt her cereal all down her self, stubbed her toe when hopping out of bed, and tripped on the trick stair that she hadn't tripped on since her second year.
On top of everything that was happening, it was raining. That was just the cherry on top of the ice cream mountain. Giving a long sigh, that sounded very aggrevated, she looked around at the grand total of two that were in the locker room. 'Great', Brittany thought as she quickly changed into her gear, 'Now my own team isn't going to show up....'
Though she tried to reassure her self that everyone would show and that it was still quite early. Pulling her hair up tight in a bun that seemed to tilt on the side of her head, she breathed slowly. She had to calm down or else she would freak all of her players out. So, putting on a small smile, she set an example of extreme calm and elegance.
Walking over to Dan and Anna she asked in a voice as controlled and regular as possible, "How are we feeling today?"

"A bit nervous, a little nauseated, excited as a pig when his trough is filled, and ready to win!" Keagan exclaimed as she entered the locker room herself, not realizing before answering the question that Brittany probably didn't expect an answer from behind her. Keag's hair was already pulled back into a high, sporty tail to keep it out of her face. She presumed that flight would keep the tail behind her. Grinning at her teammates and sending a quick wink in Dan's direction, Keag made her way to her own locker and began pulling her robes on, while still within a hearing distance of the captain.
