Alphabetical order? Alphabetical order? Was she seriously joking? Surely in Muggle Elementary School, they had done the same, but not knowing anyone except Cadence, and even then he didn't give a last name, he knew absolutly noone. How on Earth was he supposed to know who to go infront of and who to go behind? Hearing someone mention the letter 'L' he instantly turned around to face a little girl. He chirped shyly to the girl, "Well, I'm J... so I'm before you."

Well at least 'Williams' came close to the end of the alphabet. thought Sabrina. I'll get a chance to see what's really gonna happen. She wondered what house she was going to be sorted into. She sort-of wanted to be in Ravenclaw beacuse of her cousin Benji. But then again, there were so many other options. Don't kid yourself Brina, there's only three more. she realized to herself. Then she realized she was only sitting there, probably looking stupid as everyone else was scrambling to get to their place. She started wandering around asking people what their last name was. "Um..what's your last name?" she asked one boy. When she asked him, he didn't seem to mind at all. It seemed as no one knew anyone else's last name, and that tonight it was a pretty common question.

Sarsha watched Kyle move towards another girl she also saw another boy move out of the line and stand away from the others. She wondered wether he was lost. But she knew she needed to find where to go so she began to head towards the end of the line. As Sarsha walked past where Kyle was she smiled to him "Goodluck" she said quietly. She hoped he got where he wanted, she also hoped she ended up in the same house as him. He was really nice and she quite liked that he took the time to explain things to her.
Sarsha walked past another little girl, but then decided to ask her her last name as well. Maybe she would have an odd name like Kyle suggested. Sarsha turned to look at Sabrina. "Excuse me, If you don't mind me inquiring, but what would be your last name?" she asked. Her words formal like she usually spoke.

Flora turned around to see all the other first years scrambling to get into alphabetical order, before Raynor came back to collect them. Apparently, a lot of people heard her say that her last name started with L because another girl came up to her saying her last name was with a P. "Yes, zat vould mean you are behind me." she smiled. Then Flora heard another boy coming saying his stared with a J. Well at least she was meeting some of the others as well. Now, how many of them would be in her house, who knows.

"Well, I am H, so you go between us," he replied. Kyle heard the other boy, whose last name started with a J. In all truth, they were all a little lost because this figuring out each other's last name and lined up thing was not as easy as people think, especially when you didn't know the others and didn't seem to have a lot of time to complete the task. That's why he spoke up even he wasn't being spoken to.
"By the way, my name is Kyle Hersten," he introduced himself. "Your name?"

After Deputy Headmistress Raynor answered her question, Michelle quickly took her place beside Flora. Her excitement mounted as she realized, she would be sorted soon! She smiled to herself holding back an assortment of loud squeals that were dying to escape past her lips. This was it, the moment she had been waiting for all summer. She couldn't wait.
When it came time to line up aphebetically, Michelle kept close to Flora standing behind her. Another girl eventually split the two up by taking her place in between them. Michelle had to admit she was slightly lost with the whole 'alphebetical' ordeal. Hopefully by standing behind this other girl she would be in the right place. How embarrassing would it be for her to be the only one in 'the wrong spot'?

About five minutes later, the Deputy appeared from the door again, watching as the new first years were still scrambling and questioning each other to find their place in line. But a line was forming. She waited patiently for the rest of them to figure it out. But she did not come back alone, clasped lightly between her hands was what looked like a tattered old hat. When they had finished, Raynor gave a nod, "If you all would follow me, one neat orderly line, mind you, " she stated before turning on her heel and walked well... walked with a waddle, towards the door. Which, this time, opened on its own accord. When all of them had successfully walked through it, it snapped shut behind them.
