Overhead, the angry gray sky swirled and twisted in on itself. A flash of light illuminated the darkened Kings Cross Station before falling into shadows once more. Moments later a whip like rumbled thunder, filling the air with its crackling menace. Moisture clung heavily and a few droplets of water plunged to the earth from their bursting clouds. Another lightning bolt slashed sporadically down to earth.
All over the station, muggles pulled the collars of their coats up and quickened their pace, heading to platforms nine and ten and the numbers both lesser and greater. It was a dismal morning, so dark that it seemed more like 10: 45 p.m. than 10: 45 a.m. Trolleys rumbled in unison with the thunder above. No one seemed to notice the boy or girl (and their accompanying adults) lean against the wall between nine and ten before disappearing.
Beyond the wall, the great giant red steam engine of the Hogwarts Express stood out like a light in a sea of darkness.
Another flash and the drops became more steady. It was a grim and foreboding morning. While it supplied good cover, it was not the perfect conditions one would want when returning to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
(( All students new and old may begin posting! Prefects and Head Students -- which will be announced early so they know who they are -- should make sure everything goes smoothly and then report to the Student Leaders compartment. ))

Just like I thought. Hiro told himself in his mind, something about the air always gave away a storm. He had been on the platform fairly early since he was close to school during break. And boy what a break it was! He had kept in touch with Drew and helped as much as he could. He stayed in touch with Charlie until she sent an unusual letter then she stopped replying. He worked his summer job at Honeydukes which gave him something to do during break and gave him a little extra spending money.
Now all he wanted was to be around his friends, two in particular, and get back to a normal school year. He was sitting on his luggage with his pet chameleon, Flicker, sitting on his shoulder. The blindfold covering his eyes and his walking cane nearby the blind prefect proudly wore his badge and Raven claw colors ready to help any lost and confused student.
"Let's just hope this year isn't as bad as last." He said to Flicker.

Ryan had been waiting for this day for quite some time. He had been looking forward to going to Hogwarts and getting to spend a year with his new found friends. He was pretty sure that he would see everyone there again and he just couldn't wait. He arrived at platfrom nine and three quarters with his mom and had entered through the barrier alone, after saying his goodbyes to her. He was in his usual muggle attire, a bright blue sweat shirt and a pair of faded jeans with some white tennis shoes. As he walked along the platform he looked around for Braxton, whom he was scheduled to meet up on the train. He had everything he needed, or so he thought. He had remembered Braxton's Mountain Dew and his Coke, along with ton of other snack food. His mom had made sure that he had everything that he might need on the ride there.
Deciding that he get a compartment on the train before they filled up too much he boarded, with his owl and cat in their cage, and took one of the empty compartments near the middle. He figured that Braxton would find him when he got there. He really didn't want to have to ask someone if he could sit with them. This way he avoided that whole thing.

The big day had finally came. Nothing could wipe the smile from Hannah's face that had been there since she had awoken at five am that morning. Not even the dark sky or the rain that had began to fall when Hannah and her family had arrived at Kings Cross station.
The family had taken muggle taxi's to the station and everything was going well. Hannah's parents had on muggle attire as did Hannah as well, so nothing was out of the ordinary, except for the question of where Hannah had gotten her black owl, which Hannah had called Sooty, but her Dad had answered that with a little white lie.
The rain coming down steady, the Astley family walking in a tight group, finally reached the barrier between Platform Nine and Three Quarters. "Well, Princess, this is it, your off to Hogwarts, I'm so proud of you" Hannah's dad told her, reaching down and giving her daughter a final hug and a kiss. "Darling, you have a good time and try not to get into too much trouble" Elisabeth Astley added, giving Hannah another hug and kiss goodbye.
"Thanks, Dad, and no Mum, I promise I won't get into too much trouble. I guess it's time I should go through" Hannah said, giving her parents a small smile and a wave goodbye as she pushed her Trolley through the barrier and into where the Hogwarts Express was waiting for her. Hannah gazed at the steam engine and wondered if she should get on or if she should wait for awhile.
Going with option number two, Hannah decided she was going to wait for awhile before she got on and spotting a older boy sitting on his luggage, Hannah pushed her trolley over to him and introduced herself. "Hi, I'm Hannah Astley, are you off to Hogwarts as well?, I'm going be a first year" Hannah rambled slightly, watching the boy's chameleon with interest.

Adrian was all smiles today. As he marched through the station, diligently pushing his trolley, he felt happier then ever. His heart was warm and fuzzy, and his mind was spinning and whirring with excitement. His brand new cat, a black kitten, was in his carrier on his trolley. The kitten meowed, in what Adrian imagined to be an excited way. "This is going to be great, Scram." Adrian said to his pet. Scram's full name was Scrambled Eggs, after the first meal he had had. His sister, mother and father were walking beside him, and the family stopped in front of the barrier between Platforms Nine and Ten.
"Alright, fella. What you have to do, is run right and the barrier, and you'll go straight through onto Nine and Three Quarters, alright?" His father told him. Adrian kissed his father and mother goodbye, (his mother squeezing him until he couldn't breathe), and hugged his sister, who was looking tearful. "Don't worry, kid. I'll write, and you'll see me during the holidays." He said to her, kneeling to be at her level. She gave him a teary smile and hugged him around the neck. He turned his trolley around, gave himself a running start, and went straight through the barrier. "Woah." He muttered after getting through.
The train was a shining scarlet, with Hogwarts Express embossed on the engine and various children hanging about the platform or boarding the train. He even spotted the girl he had met in Hogsmeade talking with an older student. He had nothing to wait around for, so he went on the train straightaway. Carrying his luggage, he trudged through the aisle, looking for a compartment that had someone in it. He didn't want to have to sit alone. He spotted a compartment with only one boy in it, who looked about his age. He slid open the door and greeted him. "Ello. D'you mind if I sit here?"

Krissy was already on the platform. She had amazingly enough been on the platform for about half an hour. She had planned ahead. After reciving her letter and discovering that she would be head girl this year (which caused alot of excited screaming and dancing around - much to the shock of the owner of the leaky cauldron) she had organised to make sure she was at the platfrom on time and not, like usual, running as late as could possibly be imagined.
She was now sitting with her back against one of the cold stone walls of platfrom 9 and 3/4's, having put her trunk, and all her pets (along with a few new additions this year) all in their rightful travel containments in one of the compartments. Happily stowed away. She had gotten there really early so her book had occupied her attention. But her eyes had been darting back to the clock every 5 minutes since she got there, checking the time. The clock now showed the time 10:45 and she decided it was now due time to tuck the book back into her backpack and see who had already arrived. The station was full of students and parents. Some familia faces and some very unknown. Krissy noted a couple who looked like they were new first years, they also looked like good kids. Krissy smiled, they looked like they would have some nice ones again this year.
"A new year" Krissy said with a grin, looking down at the head girl badge that was now very roudly pinned to the front of her shirt. Muggle atire was what she was currently wearing, but she could change on the train easy as anything, her robes were in her backpack which she had just put her book.

"C'mon Blitz"
Mike called out to his small black cat which had stopped to sniff around one of the many garbage cans on the pathway between platforms 9 and 10, and as the cat broke into a run past Mike, he scooped him up into his arms.
"Ah ah ahhhh calm down you lil rascal"
He said to Blitz before placing him down on the top of his trunk and calmly walking through the barrier which led him through to Platform 9 3/4. He was met by the familiar train, with its scarlet paintwork looking just as brilliant as it did every other year that he had boarded it. But this year, would be different, this was quite possibly the last time he would board the train from this station. Suddenly Mike felt butterflies in his stomach, just like the ones he felt that fateful day way back in his first year when he boarded the train for the first time and just like the ones he got in his first Quidditch game.
But why was he getting them now.....

"MIKE!" Krissy's voice probably was heard all the way back in Australia. She had just seen her friend walk through the barrier, kitten on trunk. Krissy raced to her friend, giving him only just enough time for him to dorp his trunk before tackle hugging him, leaping at him form about a metre away from him and wraping her arms around his neck. Okay so it was a little drastic, but he was her friend, and he had been there for her during the holidays when she had needed someone to talk to so she was pretty excited to see him again. they may not have been exactely getting along when they left at the end of the year, but things change and Krissy doesn't hold grudges very well.

Mike had heard the yell and had just enough time to groan as he knew what was coming afterwards as he was tackle hugged to the ground by Krissy, now you might say they hadn't left Hogwarts on the best of terms but how things change over the break. They had caught up and made up, all be it under certain circumstances....but hey they had still recovered their friendship.
"Hey Krissy"
He said with a laugh as he hugged his friend back, mean while Blitz had lept off his trunk and had somehow buried his head into her pocket and was busy trying to pull whatever was in there out of the pocket.

Krissy grinned at Mike, releasing him from the hug. It was then that she felt the nuzzeling of a small creature in her pocket. "Blitz!" Krissy said in a pretend scolding voice. She picked the little cat up, reaching into her pocket herself and pulling out a couple of what had caught the cats attention. Pet treats. Krissy held them out to the cat "You know you just gotta ask and you can have some" she said to the cat. Yeah she liked animals, and havng so many of her own she tended to keep treat's readily handy.
Krissy still holding blitz stood up, holding out a hand to help Mike back off of the ground. She hadn't exactely meant to knock him over, but either way was good. "How were your holidays?" she asked him. She had seen him near around the beginning of the holidays and hadn't seen him since. Krissy shifted Blitz in her arms slightly, her new head girl badge unknowingly becoming visable for him to see.

Mike, with the help of Krissy stood back up just in time to see Blitz gobbling down some of the treats that had been in Krissy's pocket...but then his eyes noticed something else, something more important than what Blitz had found in Krissy's pocket or what he had been up to in his holidays.
A badge, a Head Girl badge to be exact, thats when his heart sank....he hadn't gotten anything, not a Head Boy position nor a Prefect, over his seven years at Hogwarts and he had very little to show for it other than his good grades.
"So when were you going to tell me that you got Head Girl?"
He asked, a grin on his face because he was truely proud and happy for his friend and it wouldn't be very becoming of him to wollow in self pity.

Nic didn't have anyone with him this year. His father was a muggle and over in the states Akina has been so involved in everything that it almost felt like freedom; almost. But since this wasn't his first time crossing he was pretty confident. He walked through the portal and found himselt staring at the train.
"Freakin sweet, man. I keep forgettin how cool dis magic stuff is."
Nic levitated his trunk and bags and began to climb the train steps looking for an empty compartment or at least a friendly one.

Krissy looked down at her chest, which had the badge pinned on it and then back up at Mike. "Oh" she grinned sheepishly "I only just found out when I got my letter" Krissy grinned, and although she had tried to sound casual it was highly obvious that she was very proud to have that badge pinned on her chest. She have given up her prefect position with the hope of letting others have a change to be prefect and was highly excited having gotten head girl.
Krissy's eyes not scanned the front of Mike's robes, realising all of a sudden she didn't know who got head boy. "Did you..?" Krissy didn't know how to ask him, she couldn't see a badge. Although she wouldn't put it past Mie to not wear it. "Are you head boy?"

Mike frowned and shook his head, why was he letting this get him down, in the end it was a stupid badge.....a stupid IMPORTANT badge, and to make matters worse he could just imagine what life could be like if Drew had gotten the honour of being Head Boy instead of him.
"Nope...not even Prefect"
He responded with a slight smile, tyring to forget about the whole thing.
"So I guess that was a good suprise after all the things that have happened over the break eh?"

Braxton had entered Platform 9 3/4 with his dad, mom, and little brother. His little brother Corbin didn’t really want to see him go, after all who was going to play with him when he got home? But understood all the same and one day he would most likely be going there as well. Hopefully with his buddy Jordan would be going at the same time, that boy better show some magical talent.
As they crossed through the barrier he looked around for Ryan, he wasn’t sure if he would be with his mom or dad or what. Did they even let muggles through the barrier? When he didn’t see him he was a little disappointed, but knew he would show up all the same. They had owled each other back and forth up until this very day, and had it all planned out so he was a little surprised not to see him there right away.
As he stood on the platform looking around, his mother fussing over how he was going to get his trunk in and his dad saying he would be fine, he noticed a couple of other friendly faces. He stood out from the rest of his family in that he was wearing muggle clothing. Ryan had visited the states over the summer and had picked him up an outfit from his favorite muggle store, and he just had to wear it on the train. After all he wanted to fit in with Ryan, and he was sure he was going to be dressed in muggle attire. Decked out in an orange hoodie, matching faded blue jeans and, of course, his new white and orange highlighted tennis shoes he wondered if he should board or just wait there. “I wonder where Ryan is at,” he said over in his parents direction. “You don’t think he can’t get through do you?”
“I am sure he’ll be here in a minute dear,” his mom said with a smile. “There is still plenty of time for him to come. We just got here a little early is all.”
