"At which point there may be a missing persons report," she smiled at him. Yes, they were getting closer, and no, she didn't want to get closer, but she knew it was better to. "But next Tuesday sounds like a good time to me," she grinned as she wrapped her arms around his neck long enough to pull him down towards her for another brief kiss.
"Come on," she requested as she grabbed his hand and began tugging on him to follow her up the stairs. The only thing really standing in the way of getting to the common room now was if the stairs decided to shift. That seemed to happen more often than not with her, but she was kind of hoping they wouldn't this time.

Drew, on the other hand, was hoping they would... or maybe do one of those random leading-to-somewhere-else dealies that they did every once in a while. The more they got sidetracked from getting to the Gryffindor Common Room, the more time he had to spend with her.
The stairs didn't seem to be cooperating though. Perhaps it was too late for them to be so active.

While she did want to spend more time with the Ravenclaw, her hyperness was starting to wear down, and she wasn't sure how much longer she'd make it without possibly becoming quite exhausted. Late nights didn't suit her well, and she was lucky she'd made it that far.
Stairs upon stairs upon stairs, they seemed never-ending at night, but they finally made it up to the topmost stairwell with minimal conversation, mostly because she was focusing on making it up the stairs before conking out on Drew.
Turning to him, she smiled a little, still wondering if he actually wanted to walk her all the way to the Gryffindor towers. "You know you don't have to go all the way, right? If you don't want to, I can make it there myself." Her words were quite, not in the least encouraging him to do just that, leave her to go on by herself, but showing it was an option.

He watched her climb the steps and realized it was late and she was tired. He couldn't help but think about how neat it would have been to just camp out in the newspaper office, but now that they were almost to her common room, the office seemd out of the question.
"And leave you to conk out on the stairs?" he chided. "Come on... I can piggy back you the rest of the way if you want." The Fat Lady would probably have some choice things to say to him, bringing her back so late, but he didn't really mind.

"I wo...on't go to sleep un...til I see my bed, promise," she yawned at him. "The tower isn't that far away." And while she thought about it, a nice piggyback ride wouldn't be so bad, but he'd already carried her a good ways that night, she couldn't let him lug around her weight all the time, not only would it be bad for him, but her as well.
"I ca...can walk it, I'm pretty sure," she smiled at him.

He caught her yawn and smiled as he gave one of his own. Just the fact that they hadn't been discovered wandering around the castle at night should have been a teel-tale sign as to how late it was.
He stepped in front of her and crouched a bit, offering his arm to help her up. "Come on, one more flight. You look like you're about to drop." He knew he'd manage and still be able to get back to his own dorm without a problem.

It was really tempting, and one temptation she knew she'd easily give into. One more flight felt like an eternity almost, and the fact that he was willing to take that eternity away, well, that was just really tempting.
Giving in, she climb back onto him, and wrapped her arms around his neck, but not too tightly. "You know you're spoiling me, right?" she asked softly in his ear before kissing it and nestling her face into his neck and sighing contentedly.

"Of course," he answered and almost added It's my job. But of course, it wasn't his job. That would be her boyfriend's job. Why hadn't he asked her? He didn't have an answer for that except that it still felt too soon, too fast. He'd get there though. He was sure of it.
He stepped up the pace a little, trying not to jostle her too much as they climbed, and he didn't try to say much, just enjoying the feel of her arms around him and her breath on his neck.

When she had to talk, it was mostly a mumbled answer, nothing too much that would make her have to move away from a spot she found that smelled really good. And while she thought it sounded silly to her, she liked how the spot her nose had found smelled, it was a good, clear scent of him.
She managed to stay awake though her eyes were closed for a good majority of the time. When they weren't too far from her tower, she brought one of her arms back from around him and instead started playing with a bit of hair at the back of his head, just letting her fingers run through it. It was softer than his mustache was, and with her face still planted at his neck where the scent was really nice, she just enjoyed the little bit of silence there was.

When she started playing with the hair at the top of his neck, it got a little harder to concentrate on the steps and oh so tempting to just stop climbing and kiss her again. Better yet, find a place where he could hold her all night and have her fall asleep in his arms.
"Felicity...?" he started, thinking he needed her to stop or he really was going to need a cold shower. In the end he decided it was worth it. "We're almost there." The fat lady would be just a few more steps and around the corner.

"Hmmm?" was her mumbled reponse when he called her name. She wasn't asleep, not yet, but she sure was feeling drowsy, late nights usually did that to her. And she didn't think it helped too much that he was carrying her, allowing what energy she had to just settle.
Carefully nodding her head in response, though she knew he wouldn't be able to see her, she tightened her hold on him momentarily before breaking away from the spot she liked. She was sure she'd be able to find it again another time, if he'd let her, and she left her fingers twirling a few strands of his hair.
"Do you want me to get down?" she asked, sure that was why he was telling her she was almost at the tower.

"No, we're almost there," Drew told her again as he climbed the last few stairs. The spot she had been nuzzling on his neck felt cold when she broke away, but he figured that was probably for the best at this point.
He turned the last corner and saw the Fat Lady's portrait. Even from the other end of the hall, he thought he could see her glaring at him. "You ready to get down now?" he asked, thinking this was probably the best time for both of them to walk.

Shaking her head in response, she gave a little laugh. "Not really, but I will," she spoke softly in his ear before once more kissing it and climbing down. He really was comfortable, and while she had enjoyed him carrying her, she was sure his back was probably near to killing him, plus she'd seen the Fat Lady react to a few other Gryffindor's arriving late, she was sure she would be no different.
Placing her hand in his, she began the walk to her common room, if he was going still willing to take her there, she'd make sure he took her all the way to the portrait. "Thank you, by the way."

He followed willingly, despite the slight melting to his knees when she kissed him. He avoided looking at the Fat Lady for as long as possible, knowing he was going to get a scolding and prefering to look at the blonde girl's smile instead.
"My pleasure," he answered and it had been. Aside from the little window mishap, the whole night had been one huge pleasure for him.

Smiling giddly, she put her arms back around his neck when they'd arrived in front of the portrait. One thing she had learned from those arriving late, was how to get a moment's privacy from the Fat Lady. Tugging at Drew to move closer, she leaned up to his ear.
"Plug your ears and hum to yourself, will you?" she smiled at him. If the portal was open, she didn't usually leave her portrait, knowing she'd have to be in it to close it. Waiting for him to acquiese to her request, she turned back to the Fat Lady and smiled broadly, giving the password.
