"No, I think I said you were much more adorable than any tortoise," Drew answered, sprinting after her now that she had a good lead on him. His goal was to catch up to her just before she reached the stairs and he just hoped he hadn't given her too big of a lead. He raced after her as fast as he could, leaping over a coat of arms that had stuck it's foot out in an attempt to give the girl a bigger advantage, ducking under the arm of another who was attempting to do the same. The Gryffindor girl was definitely more well liked around the castle than he was, that was for sure.

Glancing over her shoulder briefly, she giggled when she saw the attempts being made to let her win. She wouldn't agree that she was more well-liked, but maybe it was because she'd often talked to them late at night and early in the morning on her way to and from the office. It was nice chatting it up with them, even if they didn't talk back. They did acknowledge her though, which was nice.
Deciding to slow down a little, she turned around herself and did her best not to laugh aloud at the sight of the boy. "Let him through fairly," she told them, hoping they'd listen to her.

"Yeah, let me through fairly!" Drew cried out, skirting around a battle axe that coincidentally got loose and fell towards him just as he got under it. The portraits seemed to be cheering him on at least... or maybe they were actually rooting on the armor? He couldn't be quite sure, but it seemed that they were saying words of encouragement as he passed by their frames.

There were two or three portraits she'd noticed in which the occupants seemed to be whispering to the coats of armour what to do and when. The blonde saw the attempt with the battle axe, that was definintely too dangerous, but at least the blue-eyed boy made it by without even a scratch, that was something.
Drew had all but caught up with her at that point, and she knew the stairs were only a bit away, so that meant she'd have to run to beat him, but she was going to try to keep pace with him, hoping nothing would happen if she was in closer range to him, that really wasn't fair what they were doing to him.

He was definitely gaining on her, a task that would have been easier if it weren't for the dang obsticles. As he got a bit closer a shield darted out into the hallway and again, Drew took the hurdle, only this time catching a toe on the edge causing him to stumble. With barely a hand on the floor he managed to regain his balance and close the gap a bit more.
The last few yards were easy and soon he would be in a position to pass her. Instead of taking the lead, he gave a triumphant whoop and made a grab for her waist in an attempt to carry her with him to the finish.

Covering her mouth out of horror as her eyes went wide when he got caught on the shield, she sighed with relief when he re-balanced himself and started after her again. It seemed everyone was calming down now that he was closer to her and she turned around to try to get ahead of him again. Unfortunately, she wasn't fast enough and felt him grab at her.
With quiet shriek, or as quiet as she could make it, she didn't fight him picking her up again as she liked being close to him like that. Plus, it meant she could get a small breather.

As they reached the finish he collapsed onto the steps, making sure he landed first and got the brunt of the fall and letting her land on top of him for a softer landing. The toe on his tennis shoe seemd to be torn, but other than that he didn't seem to have any scars from the obstical course.
"I think I won," he told her with a wide grin, daring her to contradict him.

Well, she didn't figure on the collapse. The blonde thought he'd probably drop her down at least before collapsing, but she wasn't going to argue with what it was he'd chosen to do. Wrapping her arms around him, she giggled into his neck before hearing him and pulling away.
"You only won because I wasn't running," she insisted. "And even then, I wouldn't say you won. I think it was a tie." Felicity wasn't about to let him get away with saying that he'd won when he made it hard for her to, even if she hadn't fought him grabbing at her like that.

"Let's see... I got you on top of me again... sounds like a clear win in my book," Drew answered with a devlish grin, but he thought he'd give her the tie if she really insisted on it. The toe he had stubbed on the shield was starting to ache and the stairs were poking him in the back awkwardly, but he really didn't care about any of that at the moment.

Once more the butterflies in her stomach surfaced enough to be an issue, but not a bad one. "You call it winning having my weight added to you?" she asked smiling at him. "I think I'd be calling it an issue with a need to have it fixed."
Climbing off of him, she stood and did a mock stretch of the one's he'd done earlier before holding a hand out to help him up. "And I still think it's a tie."

"What if I don't care to have it fixed?" Drew asked, taking her hand but instead of pulling himself up, tugging at her to come back down. Darn it if he went through all that trouble to get her in his arms again and he didn't even get a kiss out of it.
"C'm 'ere woman..." he said with a tease in his voice, but hoping he was making himself very clear this time.

Blushing slightly, she let herself be pulled back down to him, the smile on her lips showing that she was genuinely pleased with the situation, but the giggles surfaced at his command. It just sounded funny coming from him, even if she'd told him he had to say stuff like that, she didn't think she'd be able to get over laughing if he said such things often, they were just too funny coming from him as he didn't stike her as the type to say such things with much meaning.
Leaning into him, she brought a hand up and gently touched his face before once more tracing his mustache. It was so soft she couldn't help it, but it sure did tickle when he kissed her. Moving closer into him, so her lips were right at his, but not quite touching she looked up to his eyes. "I'm here."

He grinned as she traced over his mustache, having forgotten that it was there and suddenly a little self-concious about it. It had been pretty cool keeping it on for the night, but now he was wondering about kissing her with it. Had it bothered her? She would have said something if it had, right? And considering that she was right there on him, it couldn't have been too bad.
But what if she actually perfered it? What if she hated kissing him once he shaved it off? He supposed he could deal with that dilemma in the morning. Right now there were much more important things to deal with.
"Yes you are," he answered, leaning in just a breath to take the kiss he knew was waiting for him.

Waiting for him it was, and she softly let her lips find his. She really had gotten used to this particular arrangement quite fast, and while she wasn't sure she should be quite as comfortable about it as she was, she was glad it was so comfortable. It just wouldn't have been right otherwise.
Again, thoughts about getting back to the common room surfaced, and while she really didn't want to leave him, or break away just yet, she knew eventually they'd have to make their way up to the towers, and probably the sooner, the better. She'd been quite surprised they hadn't had a run-in with an authoratative figure yet, and she really didn't want to press the little luck she seemed to have.
Pulling back from him, though she didn't want to fall-out of that enjoyment just yet, she leaned back in for one small kiss, before climbing back up and offering her hand to him again. Hoping he would understand it wasn't what she wanted to do, she smiled at him. "We really should be getting out of here."

He really didn't want to get out of there. He really didn't want to walk her home. He wanted to stay right where they were, or better yet go back to the sofa in the Newspaper office again. Even if he wanted to move, he wasn't sure he could at the moment. That last kiss had turned his knees into jelly and made his toes go numb.
"We're getting closer," he told her with a grin, overlooking the hand for the time being. And not bad progress actually. Every few yards and there was a pretty nice kissing break. If he had to get her home, then this was definitely the way he wanted to do it.
With a sigh he took her hand, tugged at her a little as if trying to pull her down again, but then loosened and pulled himself up. "At this rate, I might get you home by next Tuesday," he told her with a grin.
