He was starting to realize that by letting girls win, he didn't have to face the enevitable stigma of actually being beaten by one. He wasn't exactly sure why it was such a big deal, especially with a kid game like this, but now that he recognized that maybe all of his intentions were not as noble as he originally believed, it was easier to get over it.
When he got another kiss he started dancing again, also feeling better about the outcome of the game no matter how it turned out, and he rolled a six putting him at the top of the ladder at 84. His little marker jumped around the square happily, knowing what was coming.

Seeing where Drew stopped, Felicity made a face. There wasn't really anything wonderful she could make her girl do, but slide down the board and leave a kiss on the cheek of the boy before running bashfully back to her spot. It was a sad attempt at making something cute, but it was all she could think to have her pawn do.
Rolling another five, she moved the red head up to space ninety-four, grateful that she hadn't rolled a six or a four as both had chutes. However, there were still two possible chutes ahead that she could land her die on the square of.

The little marker did a little dance and cried out a squeeky WOO HOO when he got his kiss. He wasn't too sure why Felicity made a face but he didn't say anything, figuring if she didn't want to play with that rule anymore, she'd speak up. Besides, there were only two more top of the ladder spots and one was the last square where the person who landed there got the victory kiss anyway.
Drew wasn't too far behind and figured with a few good rolls he might still have a chance to win. He tossed the die and watched it land on four, getting him to 88.

A face was made only because she wasn't able to figure out a fun way of making her girl get back to Drew's piece. Of course it wasn't that she didn't like his rule, nor that she didn't want to do it, but it was that she couldn't make a fun path. However, she had to giggle when he made a squeaky voice for his pawn, it was adorable and funny.
Rolling the die again, she watched as it fantastically landed on yet another five. Whatever die Drew had found for her to use had come with the game was being amazing at the time and she couldn't believe it as she watched with wide eyes. That meant she was on square ninety-nine which was only one space behind one hundred and she was past all of the chutes.
Throwing her hands up in the air for being so close, she wiggled a little where she sat and grinned at Drew. If luck was with her, she'd get a one and win the game.

And of course, now she had to wait for the one which gave Drew a chance to catch up. He was past the giant slide, but still had the three small ones to get by and each of those not only would set him back two rows, but would make that big chute a possibility again.
"Don't start celbrating yet, darlin,..." he warned, making his throw and praying for a good number. The die landed on another four and he slid his piece to 92, just on the edge of the danger zone.

While he could catch up easily, she was still past danger and all she had to do was roll and wait for the one to come. Of course, she would still run back for little cardboard kisses if Drew landed at the top of a ladder, but she was able to go back to the one safe spot on the board. Ninety-nine was a nice spot, not as nice as one-hundred, but nice all the same.
"I'm only celebrating because I'm out of harms way," she answered, liking how he called her 'darlin'. It was adorable, and she couldn't deny that one. When he called her babe she wasn't so sure she was fond of that, but darlin' was cute and it sounded funny with his little American accent that would show through the British one he had learned over the years.
Rolling again, she got a two, but at least she didn't have to worry about set backs.

"That you are," Drwe agreed, looking over the board and figuring his own chances of getting past the row of chutes that lay ahead of his pawn. The odds weren't good. He had a fifty-fifty chance of rolling a number that would set him back. As she rolled and was unable to move, he hoped for a two, four, or five.
He sucked on his teeth as the threw the dice, growling unhappily as it landed on one. Drew took the slide next to him down to 73, hoping now to get onto that 80 before she rolled her own one.

Hearing the grumbling noises coming from the boy, she put on her own sad face; she hadn't wanted for him to be set-back as he was. But as he had noticed the eighty before him, she had as well. However, she reached over and gently scratched his belly with the tips of her fingers, hoping to get him to stop the grumbling noises as she didn't like him making such noises, but at least he wasn't making them at her.
Rolling again, she received a six and still could do nothing but hand the die over to Drew with a hopeful smile, but not too hopeful of one. After all, she wanted to win before him.

Drew squeeked again and flinched, thinking she was trying to tickle him. She had discovered his ticklish spot earlier and had come to the conclusion a while ago that once it was known, people just felt the need to go there every once in a while. Fortunately, he was safe this time, but he eyed her warily as if expecting another attack.
She rolled her six and he made a face. "That's the one I wanted," he complained, noticing that a six would get him an extra roll and a shot at that 80th square. Then again, he had just rolled her one, so maybe it was fair.
He took up the die and tossed another one, grinning evily at Felicity as his pawn jumped to the next square. No, it wasn't very good for him, but again he had taken her number.

Another giggle escaped when he made his squealing noise. Yes, she had found his ticklish spot, but she also knew that if she dared to go for it, he would retaliate and if he did, she would wake the household with her squeals of laughter. Her dad would not appreciate that one bit, nor would her mum who would have to put the kids back to bed while Felicity was reprimanded by her dad.
"Mmm..." she mumbled in response as he rolled her one. "But you still have a chance to get there," she told him, watching as he moved his pawn. "And that's exactly what I need." Grabbing up the die, she wondered if she could possibly get the one now that it'd shown its face, or if it would avoid being shown again. That poor, lonely little dot all by itself.
Dropping the die as she rolled, it landed on yet another five. "You can have my five if I can have your one."

"No way. I'm trying for a six now," Drew answered back with a wide grin. It was at that very moment that he switched pages to the number generator picked up the die and tossed it, watching as it unbelievingly landed on the asked for number.
He blinked at it for a moment and recounted his squares before hopping his piece to 80. There he stopped to do another victory dance, much like the one he had done in celebration for square 28, and as he climbed the ladder up to 100 he took Felidity's marker in his other hand and let his piece dip hers into a big smoochy kiss before making a final jump onto the winning square.
"Woo hoo!" he cheered raising his hands in victory, but not yelling as loudly this time. He didn't want to risk waking the people upstairs.

An unbelieving look came across Felicity's face as she quickly did the math in her own head. He had just won, the six was there, plain as day, and he'd gotten the number needed to win. Blinking in the same disbelief as shown on her face, she couldn't do more than stare as Drew began his dance and celebrating. The scene of his piece dipping hers for a kiss didn't even phase her as she looked over the board, constantly recounting in her mind the spaces of where he'd been to where he was. It wasn't fair that her sprout of luck had been so short-lived, but she didn't mind too much.
"I can't believe you just won," she told him, jaw still dropped slightly, but a smile creeping over her soft features. At least it had been fair, and he hadn't let her win the game, for if he had, she would've been infuriated. Tempted to lean over and give him a real kiss in place of the cardboard marker kiss she was supposed to give his piece, she was grateful she didn't when she heard the movement of her dad coming into the living room to check up on the two.
Glancing over the board and seeing where the pieces sat, Ib didn't bother trying to hide the smile on his lips. If someone had won, that meant it was really close to the time for Andrew to leave, which was a good thing in his mind, considering they'd be seeing each other again in a few days for New Years.
"Game's over?"

Drew was still grooving, not just over the win but also over the fact that he was now owed a kiss (even if it was just through his cardboard playing piece), when Mr. Hjort made his inevitable appearance. Drew stopped his rejoicing and quickly scrambled to his feet, realizing how close he had been sitting to Felicity and a little embarassed to be caught dancing.
"Yes, sir," he answered quickly, figuring his jumpiness would make her father suspicious even though they hadn't been doing anything. "Um... I should... uh, probably head on home," he stuttered as he nervously scratched at his nose.

"Yes, you probably should, it's nearing Felicity's bedtime anyhow," Ib answered, talking as though his daughter wasn't present at the time. Just seeing the two sitting so near one another, Andrew moving about as though he had ants in his pants, and the way he answered, something could very well have been going on the entire time his wife had kept him captive in the kitchen.
It was embarrassing enough with her father appearing yet again out of nowhere, but to claim it was near to her bedtime, that was more than a little annoying. And the pushiness of her dad telling Drew it was time to go when her mum had given permission for him to stay until eleven, though he hadn't planned on it was enough to infuriate her. However, she wasn't about to argue either, not since she wanted Drew to come over for New Year's Eve.
Standing up as well, Felicity nodded shortly at her dad, letting him know she understood it was time for Drew to leave, though she didn't like it one bit. Swiftly, she picked up the pieces they'd used and put them away in the box with the board and slipped it back into its spot on the shelf with the other games before giving a pleading look to her dad to leave while she said goodbye.
"I suppose we'll see you soon, Andrew," Ib directed at the boy, holding his hand out. "It was nice meeting you." Turning, he left but only after stopping to kiss Felicity on the side of the head and to whisper no more than five more minutes.

Drew didn't think anything of the mention of Felicity's bedtime, coming to the conclusion that it was just an excuse to get him to leave. Mrs. Hjort had said he could stay until eleven, so Drew figured it wasn't all that late for them.
Mr. Hjort put out his hand and Drew immediately took it, smiling at the percieved invitation to return. After all, how else would they be seeing him? "Yes sir. Nice to meet you as well. Thank you," he answered, the last bit probably sounding odd, but no less sincere. The man had allowed him into the house, let him take out Felicity, and all but invited him back. What wasn't to thank?
"You need help with that?" Drew asked Felicity, though she had pretty much put the game away. He was trying to stall a little bit more before he had to return to the entry way and put on his coat and hat.
