Devon hadn't exactly been a social butterfly since the beginning of term. He wasn't sure why he was avoiding everyone because in reality, he really wanted to see them. He couldn't explain it, but at least now that this Festival wan on, perhaps he'd see some people from school and have someone to hang out with. As of right now, Devon was pretty alone.
Coming around the corner and into the Alley, Devon saw a group of young people ahead of him. His heart fluttered slightly at the thought of there being friends nearby but as he drew closer, it wasn't exactly what he wanted to see. Matty was there and looking beautiful but she was hugging some older boy, there were a couple of other girls around and...Leto. Devon stopped dead in his tracks and watched from a distance. Shoving his hands in his pockets, he kicked at the snow, feeling defeated. There was no other way to get around them all, so Devon just walked toward the group. "Hey guys," he greeted them, eyes down and hood up.

Matty wasn't quite expecting the hug from Mike, but all the same she giggled slightly and hugged him back, before replying "Thanks." Finally the girl peeled away from Mike and turned to see who this new comer was. Huge mistake. The girl's heart pumped violently as Devon stood there, his hood up but his eyes seemed down. This was going to be nasty. The Hufflepuff girl hadn't yet sent the letter about this, and she had no idea whatsoever how she could break it to him in any other way, why had she even let him fall for her so much? Maybe times had changed since then... maybe so...
"Hey Devon." the girl said in a cheery tone, putting on her best effort to smile genuinely for the boy. Turning side on to the two little girls, Matty then said "I dunno if you know these little ones, but this one here," Matty put a hand on Maddy's shoulder, knowing the slight difference between the two. "Maddy, and I think your name is Eryn, right?" Matty asked, and probably answered her question at the same time. Merlin, she was such an idiot right now.

Devon glanced up only slightly as Matty greeted him. He didn't really want to look at her. All that longing, waiting to see her again and he couldn't even look at her. He'd been stupid, she was just on the rebound and though she liked him. It was obvious now that she didn't. Looking over at Leto, Devon shot the boy a dirty glare, but from under his hood so it wasn't visible to the Slytherin.
When introduced to the younger ones, Devon just nodded to them. Boy, was he out of it. Devon Coleman had always been the boy who would welcome someone new with a grin and a happy hello; today, the girls got nothing but a nod and a half-grunt as a greeting. But what else could anyone expect from a boy so downtrodden?

Once her feet felt a bit better Angel donned the shoes once more. Slipping the heels on she wondered how women wore them on a regular basis because it was hard work. She was usually a jeans and sneakers kind of girl when she got to wear her normal wares. This time though, she was trying for a more grown up sophisticated look it was hard though. Now that saying 'beauty if pain' made a lot of sense. Too bad she couldn't stay seated there all night, she'd be more comfortable that was for sure but that wasn't the point of coming to this thing, no she came so that she could mingle with other students. That wasn't going to happen with her sitting on the sidelines.
Angel got up feeling a shap stab of pain in both feet but she chose to ignore it this time and as she began to walk she swayed ever so slightly still not used to wearing these kind of shoes. After a moment or two though she found her balance and quickly her click clacking on the cobblestoned streets became more uniform.
Glancing around here and there she noticed several students from the school out and about most of whom she only knew by face and not by name, part of her wanted to walk up to a group and introduce herself but that would make her feel stupid. She wished that someone would come up to her it was asking a lot she knew but she had this tendency of being shy when it came to meeting new people...

Leto just stood there for a moment, not knowing what to do especially when Devon had made his way over to the group. That's when the tension levels in the group sky rocketed as Leto looked from Devon and then to Matty, why did he have a bad feeling about this whole situation. So to defuse the situation Leto gently tugged on Matty's hand before whispering in her ear softly.
"You wanna go?"

When Devon had simply nodded to the two little girl's, Matty knew something was wrong with Devon. If no one else did, then that girl knew it, she was sure of it. The Gryffindor must've realise what was going down between Matty and Leto. The Hufflepuff girl bit her lip, almost staring at Devon, but her concentration was broken by a soft tug on her hand. The girl almost thought it might've been Maddy for a moment, before the Fourth Year heard Leto's voice in her ear. Sighing slightly, Matty turned her green eyes to him, searching for an answer. Yes, she did want to go off with him and be in his company, but it was so wrong and uncomfortable to leave Devon here, in this situation, but then again what if it was a worse situation for him to tag along? "Just gimme a sec." the girl replied back, smiling at Leto and hoping he would see the meaning of why she was doing this. Swiftly, the girl pulled Devon away from the group's earshot, and lifted his chin up with one of her fingers so she could try to look him in the eye. "Devon, I know this is hard for you," the girl jerked her head back to the group, or more so Leto. "But that doesn't change the fact that you're one of my closest friends, and I don't want to see you like this." Matty said to him softly, before added "Now come on, you can at least try to have some fun tonight." the girl pleaded to Devon, before puling him back over to rejoin the group. Footsteps could be hard coming from the otherside of the street. Tristan, was not in the mood for dressing up. All he wore was a Gryffindor sweater, black pants, and white sneakers. He knew he was suppose to dress up. But if anyone asked, he was, Gryffindor. Sigh. Tristan wanted to leave the house. The ghoul in his house was getting more annoying by the day. Uncle Glenn wouldn't stop talking about the whatever gang or clan or cult or whatever that was in the Daily Prophet. Grandma Celly wouldn't shut up about how happy to see him. So he decided to come out to the festival.
As he started to walk towards everybody. He noticed someone fimiliar. Out of nowhere, he knew this kid was a Gryffindor. One of his troublemakers. He then walked towards Devon Coleman and tapped him on the shoulder. "So, I hear your plotting something in the Girls Lavatory, kiddo," he said to the boy.

Devon just looked at Matty as she spoke to him. He rolled his eyes at her and scoffed slightly. "No, Matty," Devon snapped rather viciously, "You don't know how hard it is. You said you needed time and I gave it to you. I backed off. I really liked you, OK? I did everything you asked me to, I was giving you time to think things over and then you just blow me off and go out with him? Ruddy, manky, git Leto? No, I'm not gonna come and just have fun here." The angry Gryffindor pulled out of the Huffle's grasp and turned around, just in time to see one of his prefects standing there.
"Not now," he mumbled to the older boy, elbowing him in the ribs to shut him up, "Later."

Matty stepped back to where Devon was as he began to speak to her. Did he think she really didn't care? Well, she wasn't going to step down off a conversation like that this easily. Turning to him, Matty searched for something to say. "So why did you come Devon? I know you gave me time to work out my stuff, and I knew you really liked me. But you obviously deserve better. I'm sorry we didn't work out but obviously it's not meant to be." Matty spoke strongly back to him, before adding "I have been through this type of conversation before and I give up. I wanted to bide some time before I could explain to you what went on, but I"m not even going to try." Matty took one more look at the Gryffindor and the Prefect that had just appeared on the scene.
The girl walked back to where Leto before sighing and saying "Lets go." She really didn't care right now, but that Hufflepuff was going to regret this later.

Ty was heading down the alley on his way to meet Jynx and Jack when he passed the small huddle of people and caught what was being said. He knew enough to know the relationships going on so the conversation wasn’t exactly foreign to him. “I agree Leto is a git, but should you really be talking mate?” Ty asked with a smirk as he paused nearby. He could tell the boy was upset, but really Ty didn’t exactly feel all that sympathetic for him at the moment. It was his fault Matty and Jynx weren’t together anymore so in Ty’s mind he was just as bad as Leto and getting what he deserved. This, however, didn’t mean Ty wasn’t going to take his shots. “Your just as bad as he is. Or do you forget that you were chasing after a taken girl yourself not to long ago?”
Then hearing Matty’s comeback added, “I think there is a trend here. You better watch your back Leto. Matty here is quite the sl** apparently.”

Jynx walked up just in time to here Ty's remarks and couldn't help but smile slightly when he took a shot at Devon. The boy deserved it and apparently karma was coming around to bite him in the a**. Although Jynx did think that Ty was crossing the line. Did he really need to rub it in his face like that? Not to mention the cheap shot he took at Matty. Jynx wasn't very impressed by that, even though he did agree with Ty on everything he said. He just didn't think one needed to voice such things, especially when he and Matty were getting along for the most part. "Ty," Jynx warned and announced his presence with at the same time.

Devon simply glared at Ty when he came over but wasn't about to do anything. His hands clenches up into fists as he spoke, his words stinging because they were true. But Devon hadn't asked Matty to break up with her boyfriend for him, she'd done it on her own accord. Devon had even told her not to do it, but hadn't listened. The Gryffindor only got angrier as Ty continued, but then he'd hit a nerve and Devon snapped. Pushing Jynx out of his way, Devon rammed into Ty, pushing him. He grabbed the boy's collar and pulled him close, threatening the Slytherin with his fist.
"Don't you dare call her that again, or I was bloody well let you have it, mate!" Devon yelled at him, ready to punch his lights out anyways.

Apparently Ty had hit a nerve with the Gryffindor.....how tragic. He had seen him coming all the way, and once he made it past Jynx Ty just smirked. What did he think he was going to do. Defend Matty's honor? Wasn't that technically Leto's job now, or had Devon not managed to get the message. Ty stumbled back a bit as Devon pushed him, but still kept his smirk all the same as he pushed him right back. He managed to avoid the boys grip and just smirked. Did he really think that he could get a grab on him? "What your going to defend the sl**'s honor? I thought that was the job of the current boyfriend. Which, in case you hadn't noticed, isn't you." he said with a malicious smile.

That was when Devon punched him. His arm swung back and went straight for Ty's face in one quick motion. He rammed into the Slytherin again, his head aiming for the boy's stomach, trying to take him down. The Gryffindor swung his fist again, aiming for Ty's ribs. All Devon wanted to do was cause Ty as much pain as he possibly could. Even if he wasn't Matty's boyfriend, or even just her friend right now, no one talked about her like that and got away with it.
A steady stream of profanities was coming out of Devon's mouth now, calling Ty things far worse than what he had called Matty as he kept swinging his fist at the boy. At least one of the punches had to hurt.

"Hey!!" he said as he held Devon back. Heck yeah, he was strong enough to do it. "What the bloody hell is wrong with you, two? Damn, I come here to have fun at the Festival and here I come. One Fourth year of mine agaisnt a Third year. Someone better start talking, or I will report you both! Now!" he said. He knew he was stronger than the boys combined, so he knew he could maintain. Unless, they started to go super crazy, then it was going to be Hell. "Well, someone gonna tell me or what?"
