21 - 29 December 2007
The winter evening air whipped against the piles of snow that had been pushed back and mounded against shop walls, leaving the cobblestone streets bare; their cracks filled with a white holiday flair. The same wind moved among the strings of Fairy Lights strung over top stores and around trees, the small creatures buzzing on their string-leashes and illuminating the land below in their multicolored lights. The jovial sounds of laughing voices and musical notes too the chill from the air as robed figures over among the streets, their pointed hats brushing the strains of lights.
Despite the evening hours, the windows of shops were alight with homey golden warmth as owners moved within them, hosting events of Wizards Chess and Exploding Snap with select items from the store as prizes, other clearance items offered at lower prices. The Weasleys particularly were growing a crowd and anxious-faced younglings, ready to take part in being among the first to try "the new items" for free. Madam Malkin's was selling special holiday robes with color changing patterns, and the Leaky Cauldron hosting red and green colored butterbeer and other drinks for the older sorts.
But the entertainment was not within the novelty shops. Street ventures claimed every alley opening and nook and cranny that would fit their carts. There were talking heads in Santa hats, sweets of every delight, even a Holiday show being preformed by House Elves (all S.P.E.W. members are encouraged not to attend). If it was festive and imaginable, it was there.
Posted Prophet articles and wanted posters plaster with the face of Robert Shaw had been covered with temporary charms of snow covered ferns and snowmen, images of the green man, and other Yule like occurrences.
It seemed that Wizarding World, at least for a week, was willing to forget that there were dark dangers out there somewhere and live in blissful ignorance; enjoying the Holiday season.
((Open to one and all! You may post here if you wish, for the starting date of December 21st. But you may also branch out into threads of your own over Diagon Alley. Mike walked through the very crowded Diagon Alley with his brother Leto by his side, they were both in awe of the amazing decorations that had been arranged this year at the Festival of Yule and at the hospitality of the shop keepers, but then again it was almost Christmas and everyone was in a good mood at this time of year.
Mike shot a smirk at his younger brother whom looked rather bored and as if his mind was else where at the moment, and Mike could almost guarantee that one of his two guesses was right.
"You alright?"
He said in a careful tone, not wanting to have his brother take the question the wrong way.

Yes, Leto's mind had been on other things, or to be more precise a certain person.....a person he just couldn't get out of his mind and wondered if she was here or just somewhere enjoying her holiday, either way Leto would of liked to see her before Christmas or even before school went back.
His brother's question brought him back to the present time and Leto shot him back a side long glance and muttered
"Yeah.....why wouldn't I be?"
He said before stepping out into a semi clearing in the crowd of people.

Matty, had been thinking allot. After her conversation with Jynx at Hogwarts, the girl felt comfortable about her decision, she didn't know whether her father would approve allot, heck if anyone would approve or not, but she didn't frankly care. Her heart was telling the girl how she felt, and this time, the Hufflepuff was going to follow her heart. Over the past few days, the teen had been going over lists in her mind, making sure everything was cleared up. She had written a letter to Devon she was yet to send, her father knew what was going on, and at long last, the girl had been able to discuss everything that had happened over the last few months with Daniel. After that certain conversation, she had made a rock-solid decision on what she was going to do with her life. But this was taking a chance, being here tonight. Matty was putting this certain chance out on a limb, hoping Leto was going to be at the Yule-time-of-year fest, and if he wasn't, she would have to wait until break ended to get a hold of him. She just hoped things would go according to plan. Odds are there were going to be some hiccups, but that didn't matter at the moment, she had her heart set on something - or rather, someone - and nothing was going to stand in the way of that. So if you were to see Matty at this current time, weaving her way through the people of Diagon ally, you would notice a certain spark in her green eyes, a glamor that matched her look. Tonight, the 14-year-old had dressed quite nicely. A mix of a blood and robin red dress was held in halter-neck style. It came down a a V-cut below her neck, and then a red sash was tied tightly below the cut, a few inches above her belly-button. The dress then fell out, slithering along her hips for a few inches, before falling out gracefully to her knees. On her neck was a thin and sparkling gold chain, at the middle of the chain, resting on her peachy-skinned neck was a small love heart, a glittering red stone set in the upper right hand corner of the golden heart. On her left fore-arm rested a thin gold bracelet, it was set so it stayed in that particular place. Slipped on her shoes were a red pair of material shoes, cutting around above her toe-line and around the middle of her ankle. Finally, the girl's hair was straightened, and bouncing along her shoulders, her side-fringe being kept just out of her left eye. Slung around her shoulder, was a average sized hand bag, in it, a small red cardigan. Despite the weather, the people around Matty, made her feel warm enough to keep this attire, so the cardigan was just there in case she did happen to get cold. So as you would see this girl making her war through the people, a man in his late thirties lost somewhere behind her. This girl was searching, searching for someone she might not find tonight. It was only by chance that Leto would be here, and if he was, she knew what she had to do, but that was a secret until she saw him. For now, it was a waiting game, to see who spotted who. Leto continued to walk in silence with his brother, his eyes following the fairy lights as they struggled somewhat playfully to get loose and potentially cause some havoc in the crowded Diagon Alley, the thought of this even if it were for a moment brought a slight smile. Now if he had been looking forward as he walked he may of noticed someone familiar in the distance but for now his eyes were on the decorations that surrounded him and Mike.
They are so beautiful....just like Matty....gah why can't I get my mind off her....Mike must think i'm going crazy or something, most of the holidays so far I have spent staring into space

Matty kept up her steady walk, filtering her way through the crowd that block out everything else in her mind. So many face, everywhere, but none familiar to the on she was looking for. Occasionally the girl's green eyes would drift up to the many streams of lights that lifted the darkness out of Diagon Ally, making it seem happier more than anything. The sound of people laughs, the echo's of voices she didn't know, the slight bumps of unknown people around her, it didn't make a difference. But suddenly, it was like a brightly coloured fish emerging out of the deep blue, his face stood out of the crowd. It was uncanny, weird, and almost unbelievable, but really he was there, walking right next to his brother.
Leto, was really here. Tonight, right now, and Matty was just about to loose him in the filling crowds. Making her walk faster, the Hufflepuff pushed through amounts of people, trying to squeeze herself through the many people surrounding her. At once, like in a dream, the girl was to the side of him, standing with Leto at her side and Mike in the space around them somewhere, it was all like a big haze. "Mike, do you mind if I steal Leto for a while?" she asked, without any 'Hello's' or such. Without any answer either, the girl took hold of the Slytherin's hand and lead him out of the crowd into a gap between two shops, one of which was simply dark and empty... for the time being.

The holidays had gotten Maddy thinking too. Not about her "boyfriend" but about Jethro. The Gryffindor she had had a huge fight with. He was one of her best friends at this school, and just one night something happened between them. Now Maddy can't really find anyone else, and get close to them. But that wasn't Jet's fault. To be honest it was the young blondes. She had induced it, being so mean and yelling and crying. The one regret she had at this school, the most life-changing. She had hah fights before, but none like this. Lately it had gotten to her how she should be nicer, more compasionate. But true. He shouldn't have said anything about Benji. But just lately, they had talked, so that was a good sign, wasn't it?
Maddyson shook her head trying to rid all thoughts about Jethro fro her head. It only made her upset, not happy about the memories of having a great friend. Maddy was happy to be here in Diagon Alley, her and her family were staying at the leaky cauldron as her house was currently being demolished. Not a bad thing, but they were going to re-build it bigger and better. That meant she could come down for more than one night, and she could get some money off her parents. But tonight only her sister could join her, of course, Maddy was more than happy for her to. Both dressed in their best christmas dresses and shoes and little hats they wandered down the street looking for somethiing or someone.
Maddy's dress was white and red checkered all over it. There green stitching on the bottom left hand corner in the shape of holly. She had silver ballet shoes on, and stockings, so her feet didn't get too cold. Her hair was neatly in braid, as er mother did it, and she had a scruchie around the ends of each plait. The two girls really looked like twins, except the fact that Eryn's dress was green and white checkered, and everything else was oppostite to Maddy's as well. Except the shoes and the stockings. They wore santa claus hats upon their heads, red and green of the festivities. Both of them had in their hands a cardigan, Maddy's green, Eryn's red.
Maddyson saw Matty walk off with Leto and she could help but think You go girl!. The blonde knew about all of her boy problems, and she felt good for her. Even though she had no idea what they were doing in the alley (and she wasn't about to sneak up on them) Mady was glad she had gotten over Jynx. "Come on over here for a second." Maddy said, grabbing Eryn's hand and skipping over to where Mike, a fellow older hufflepuff, was standing. "Hey Mikey-boy." She said with a laugh. Eryn joined her in the laughing and Maddy waved her hand, as high as she could get, in front of his face. "Hello? Down Here!" She yelled out loud.
As Matty wasn't annoying Mike, Maddy decided she might as well do it for her. She was too busy anyways.

Dressed in average clothes, for her at least, Snake slowly strolled down the streets of Diagon Alley. For the past few weeks it had been like the entire world was speeding around her and she was holding still. She had made friends in and out of classes but had yet to meet any really good friends. So the young Gryffindor who was clad is skin-tight black jeans and a dark blue v-neck shirt that stopped just above her bellybutton to show off her new dangly rose bellybutton ring walked down the streets of the festival determined to catch back up with the rest of the world.
She was a little early but she expected, and hoped, things to start picking up as they night proceeded. She decided to sit down on a bench shoved in between to vendors and people watch until she thought of something better to do or saw somebody she knew.

Mike's eyes followed Leto and Matty as they walked away as quick as Matty had arrived on the scene, which left a small grin on Mike's lips as it would be great to see both of them happy again. Suddenly there was a small hand waving just in front of his face and then he heard a familiar voice of a young Huffle whom he had the pleasure of meeting at the Hufflepuff party at the beginning of the year. He looked down and smiled widely at Maddy and at the other girl, whom Mike was taking for her sister.
"Hey there Maddy, you know what that was all about?"
He said jerking his head slightly in the direction of where Matty and Leto had headed off, knowing that if anyone would know it would be her.

Maddy smiled at the older one. "I think I know my share of what is to know. If that makes any sense." She answered. "This is Eryn. She's my twin." A somewhat proud hufflpuff went on to say. She looked down to where Mike jerked his head to, and soon enough sh spotted the two. "Wait a moment. Let me see if I've got this right. Matty went out with Jynx and then they had a fight, and then she was torn between a gryffindor and that guy, and now she likes that guy?" Maddy said, touching each fingers as if she were counting. Whenever she said "that guy", she'd jerk her thumb at the couple.
"Are you related to him? Cause you guys were talking and stuff so i thought you might be. And if you blurr your eyes you look alike. but not as much as me and Ezz." Maddy said, finally realising she was annoying him. She loved to annoy people, except when they got cranky.

Angel wanted to look super special for the Festival she had wondered long and hard about what she wanted to wear. There were a ton of dresses in her wardrobe but there was one she had been saving for just such and occasion it might be considered a little risque but she didn't care this dress was made for her. So slipping it on, watching as the smooth material clung to her every curve, admired herself in the mirror before finishing the look up with some make up and a killer set of 5 inch heels. The walk to Diagon Alley was a long one especially since the shoes she had on were new and hadn't been broken in yet. By the time she noticed the first set of twinkle lights she was in agony. Glimpsing a set of benches not too far off from the Three Broomsticks Angel made her way over as quickly as she could without causing herself anymore undue pain and once she reached them she pulled the heels off just so her feet could rest. So much for her mature sophisticated look, she thought bitterly as she messaged the red welts that had begun to form on the front of her feet. She was in so much pain she barely noticed the sights splayed out before her, all the decorations and the beautifully dressed wizards and witches wending their way here and there enjoying what was to be a beautiful night.

Matty's heart was still beating quite vividly. What had just happened between the two kept flashing through Matty's head, but it wasn't unwelcome. The girl walked threw the crowd, weaving her way amongst the people, proudly holding Leto's hand still. The Hufflepuff had a bright smile on her face, her eyes shining, almost sparkling as the two made their way, stopping now and then to look at the lights strung around the main Ally. Finally, Leto and Matty reached a group of people, two of them familiar to Matty. All she caught from the last words of the conversation, were 'your eyes you look alike. but not as much as me and Ezz...'. That really didn't make any sense to the girl.
"Hey Mike, Hey Maddy and," the girl paused for a second, coming to a halt, but still keeping her hand linked with Leto's. "It looks like Maddy's... I'm assuming you're her sister then?" the girl asked in a rather curious tone, fighting the fact that she was holding hands with Leto, and they had just emerged out of no where from being alone. It was going to be quite interesting to see how the others were to react, including Leto himself. With that thought, Matty shot the Slytherin boy a sweet smile, before returning her green eyes to the two, little, matching girls.

Mike had been just about to respond to Maddy's question when Matty and Leto walked out of the crowd......hand in hand. A slight grin crept across Mike's lips as he looked at his younger brother with a sense of pride and happiness welling up inside of him, now at least he knew he wouldn't have to beat up any of Matty's boyfriends.......well that is unless his brother broke her heart.
"Well well well....look what we have here, my little bro and what looks like my little sis too"
He said flashing Matty a quick wink.

Matty bit her lower lip slightly, holding back the urge to grin feverishly. She knew Mike would have caught on in a split second, well, of course he would have. Already, the Seventh Year had been like an older brother to Matty, and he was the blood brother of Leto, he obviously the boy had known about how the two had felt towards each other, and as a result of that, now he was seeing the produce of that. Catching the older boy's wink, Matty raised her eye brow slightly in a playful way, before replying to his comment "I hope you're not implying anything, are you, Michael?" the girl said in a teasing tone, a grin on her face. "You might just be right, if so." Yes, the girl was acting mysterious, but it had been a while since she had been able to freely feel like this about someone, but really, the girl wouldn't have wanted it any other way.

Busted......Mike quickly pushed his younger brother out of the way as he pulled Matty into a hug, he was genuinely happy for the pair of them but more for Matty as he knew what she had been going through over the last few months and Leto's arrival just months prior to the beginning of the saga hadn't helped her cause much either.
But at least it was all settled now and they both could get on with being happy.
"Congratulations Matty"
He whispered in her ear softly.
