Drew wasn't asleep. He was sitting just oputside of Ravenclaw, feeling miserable. While part of him felt like he had abandoned Ari, a bigger part felt like he had been given no other choice. Ari knew where things stood and he couldn't help being frustrated at her lack of understanding. Instead, she made him feel guilty.
So when he felt his pendant go off, he couldn't help his first thought from being a little snappish.
What?

I'm sorry. She repeated after glancing at Drew's short message. She let out a small sigh and continued on. I didn't think two feet apart would be a big deal. I'm just...scared. I freaked out for a moment. And I'm sorry I got so upset with you. Please don't be mad at me.

I'm sorry. I shouldn't have even agreed to it in the first place, Drew answered. What had he been thinking, agreeing to spend the night keeping Ari company. While he knew Alhana trusted him, he didn't want to push it.

As she read Drew's latest message, Arianna frowned. If anything, it had made her feel even worse. She could tell how much he really cared about her well being.
Why? She asked, trying hard not to say all the rude things that came to mind.

It's just not right, Drwe answered simply, not sure how else to explain what he ment. He really didn't want to get into it using the pendants and probably wouldn't even want to discuss it face to face. It would just end up in a fight again.

Staying with me? Caring for me? Why? You stayed with Lily when she was sick. I don't.... Arianna paused then. Now all made sense. She didn't even wait for Drew's reply before continuing. Nevermind. I get it. You don't have to bother visiting me in the morning. Go...hang out with Lily instead. Goodnight.
Yanking the pendant from her neck, Arianna stuffed it under the pillow and turned toward the nurse's office.
"Mrs. Johnson!" she sounded more desperate than she wanted to, but it couldn't be helped. Drew had just told her it wasn't right for him to care about her. Added onto her fear of what could happen by morning, Arianna didn't know how she would make it through the night. "Nurse!"

The door was open in aflash and Selena wasright there by her bedside. "Yes Ari?" she asked, showing only a little of the concern she felt in her voice. "Are you alright dear? What's the matter?" She looked Ari over for any signs that she was hurt physically in some way but didn't find any.

"C-can I have a sleeping potion or...or....something?" she asked, still unable to hide her desperation. She didn't want to explain what had just happened and hoped the nurse wouldn't ask. "I-I can't sleep."

It was an unfair response and hit below the belt. "What's that supposed to mean?" he asked outloud as he pressed on the pendant to send the message. Stoney shifted nervously as if ready to strike at the disruption and Drew eyed him warily.

"P-please?" Arianna was close to begging the nurse for anything to knock her out and let her forget everything - Drew, how scared she was, her worries, Drew. She could feel the pendent vibrating beneath the pillow, but wasn't about to pull it back out and see what Drew was yelling back at her. "I need to sleep and I-I can't like this."

"Are you allergic to anything Ari?" Selena asked, getting up and heading over to the shelf wher she kept her potions. As much as she would like to end her misery and give her something now, it was vital she knew. She didn't want to be causing the girl harm and she definately did not want to lose this job. But that was only a side not, the kids were much more important to her than any job would ever be.

"Thistles is all," Arianna replied quickly. If there was anything else she might be allergic to, she hadn't found out yet. "I-I don't think I'm allergic to any sleep potions. Never had reactions to them before, anyway."

"Alright," Selena said, grabbing a bottle and a glass. "This is the sweetest tasting one," she said pouring it. "But I'm still afraid it's rather bitter." She handed the glass to her. "It should help, but nevertheless, I'll stay out here until you fall asleep alright?" She asked, looking over at Ari.

"No. You can stay," Arianna accepted the glass and took a small before gulping down the rest. It tasted a bit off, but not too bad as far as potions go. Handing the glass back, Arianna found herself already calming down as she lay back down. Within minutes she was already dozing off.
"If...if Drew comes back..." she closed her eyes and snuggled down under the blankets. "Tell him...I'm sorry. I....I was being stupid. I'm sorry."

"I'll tell him," Selena told her quietly, pulling up the covers better around her. "I'll tell him all that you said sweet little one. May only peaceful dreams come your way." She whispered all of this to Ari as she began to head back to her rooms.
