"Yes," Selena said. "I think it's obvious why I called you here. It's this," she went over towards the table and picked up the book gingerly. "Book she was reading. I think I know the spell to reverse it, but I wanted to see if you knew if because of a book it wouldn't work, or if the spell had to be slightly altered in some way for it to work."

Drew frowned at Arianna's message and answered back.
What kind of trouble? I saw Raynor go in but I don't hear any yelling. How bad is it? Is it safe for me to come in? he asked. He wanted to be there for Ari, but if it was too freaky, he'd rather stay outside.

Finally, a message. Arianna smiled slightly. That was a good sign. At least Drew wasn't TOO mad at her.
I don't know. She answered as she peered over at the two staff members as they spoke. I think it should be okay if you come. I don't know how bad it is, but it's worse than it was yesterday.

As soon as he got the message he poked his head in through the doorway, not even bothering to respond. He still was in his pajamas and still had his dragon slippers on and his blanket wrapped around his shoulders.

Seeing movement across the way, Arianna peered over to see Drew's face in the doorway. She lifted her near claw-like hand to wave at him, her smile widening as she realized he hadn't been too far away. It helped just to have a friends in the room. Arianna was still afraid of what might occur, but it was lessened by the knowledge that Drew was at least there. It didn't matter if he was still mad at her. She could, hopefully, appologize better now.

Drew tried not to let the shock he felt show on his face, but it was kind of unnerving to see your friend looking so lizard like... creepy actually. He offered her a small, nervous smile and waved back, but stayed by the door for the time being.

What was going through the Professor's mind more thoroughly was how Arianna got into the condition she was currently in, not some book the girl had read from. Tamis did not trust books and never would, they were inaccurate and biased -- subconsciously of course, but still biased with the writers opinions.
However, in this case it seemed the book was liked. "May I see it?" she asked the nurse, holding out her hand for the book. No, not yelling or screaming just yet, as she was still in the dark of what actually happened. "I can tell you right now, Madam Johnson that my faith in books is slim, I would also need to know of which spell you speak."

"It's not the book I'm trusting in," Selena answered. "It's the book that made her this way." She placed the book into the professor's hands. "And this only happens in the morning when she wakes up. The spell I speak of, is the one for reversal of animagus. Only think is I wasn't certain if I wanted to use that spell, because then she could never again become an animagus if she wanted to."

At the mention of Anamagi, the Professor's gaze darted to Arianna, but as to what emotion was whirling though Raynor's mind, their was little chance to try and convey as they went right back down to the book handed to her. Though her lips did thin considerably.
Whatever she found with in the pages of the small bundle could not have been to the Professor's liking for her eyebrows furrowed down almost passed the bridge of her nose.
"Madam, I do not know what your knowledge is of Animagi pertains to, but I can assure you that whatever spell you wish to attempt will not work. Anamagus, even a failed attempt at one is not a simple transfiguration. Your mind becomes portioned between yourself and the animal you are destined to become. It is very hard to explain, but if you were to try to remove this, it would be like trying to take away a part of her mind. She could go insane. It happened to an instructor named Zantusa Thursby once."
She shook her head, "You can block it, but not remove it. I may not be a Transfiguration professor, but this is a subject that I not a stranger to."

Arianna stared down at her lap and chewed on her bottom lip. She didn't like what she heard. She didn't want to go crazy like Thursby. She didn't want the opportunity to become a true Animagus taken from her. She didn't want to become insane because she was too impatient to wait a few years for proper instruction. Why did she always have to jump into things before thinking and taking a look around?

Selena nodded. "Yes professor," she answered. "I will go about blocking it then. Thank you for coming down here, your help was much appreciated. I hope in the future nothing else will go horribly wrong that I would have to call you down here again."

Drew's ears perked up as the topic moved to Animagi. Ari had told him what the book was about and what she had been doing with it, but he was hoping to get some more information on the process.

It was obviously a dismissal but Tamis did not move. She both wanted to strangle Arianna for being so completely idiotic and hug her and say things were going to be all right at the same time. As an Anamagi, she knew how attached to the soul that was.
"I can count on the fact that this incident will not reach Ministry ears, Madam Johnson? This can create quite a sticky situation if they do. They take underage and unregistered attempts at Anamagi very seriously."
The Professor hesitated, her lips pursing as she glanced at Arianna again before looking back at Selena. "I'm sure it will take some time to figure out how to block it without damaging the girl. I can help Miss Marlow obtain some control over it until then so that she at least does not have scales when others come into the Wing..."
This would mean revealing to yet another student something she liked to keep private, but there at least she might offer the girl some comfort.

Still keeping her head down slightly, Arianna peered up at her Head of House. While she felt relieved and excited at the prospect of learning how to control this, she was certain the woman would still give her detention. Not that she didn't think she deserved it. If the ministry did find out and knew the professor had helped her....Arianna didn't want to think about what might happen.
"Thank you," she spoke softly, wanting to hug the woman for the offer to help her. Arianna remained on the bed, though, still waiting for whatever else had to be said.

"No," Selena said making a face. "The Ministy. What do they know? I wouldn't trust telling them." She had never liked the American ministry either. "Well I suppose I had best hit the books then, eh? I should have something around here and if not, well then we'll see, won't we?"
