Verina couldn't help turning a little pink as Jack said Frosty's name was cute, "Just wait till you meet Brownie," she said with a grin as she managed to push Frosty off of her. She wasn't exactly short but he was extremely heavy and big. Verina looked up as she heard her front door open and her jaw dropped... it was Brian.
She sputtered, "Wha... What are you still doing here?" Verina asked forgetting that she still held one of Jack's hands in her own, "I thought you said you'd be home allready."
Brian only grinned from ear to ear as he took them both in his eyes lingering a moment on their entwined fingers, "I was just one my way out... thought i'd walk back home," he said still grinning as he looked at both of them, "By the way Verina your's dad's in his study right now."

Jack saw that Verina had gone a little pink and smiled. “Brownie?” Jack asked a little puzzled wondering if it was another one of her dog’s names or some other kind of an animal she had. He really should have asked her what kind of pets she had before now. It didn’t really matter but it would have been nice to know. He was still in mid thought when he heard Verina speak again and looked up from scratching the dogs ears with his free hand. The other one still holding Verina’s hand.
It was Brian. Great. He could imagine what was going through his mind as he stood there grinning from ear to ear. Jack thought he would let Verina handle Brain and that it was best not to say anything for the moment.

"You lier," Verina grumbled under her breathing doubting very much that Brian had just decided out of nowhere that he'd walk home instead of apparating, "I bet you were waiting for us to show up to 'suddenly' appear in the doorway."
Brian only grinned, "That hurts that you'd think i'd be capable of such a thing," he then turned his attention to a rather quiet Jack, "Thought you said you two were just friends or was it friends?" he asked finding too much enjoying in bother the two about this. But considering they still hadn't let each other go it was quite apparant to them that 'something' was definately going on.
"I think your capable of that and much more," Verina replied her tone going slightly annoyed. Brian knew she loved him to pieces which was the only reason she wasn't attacking him right now. She noticed that his focus had switched from her to Jack.

Jack listened as the two rallied back and forth. He thought it was rather amusing up until the point the conversation turned to him. He knew it was coming but that didn’t make him any better prepared for it. “We are friends.” Jack said avoiding the last part of Brian’s statement and hoping that he would just let it go. It was true he had told Brian that they were just friends at the Inn, but at that time they were. It wasn’t until after the Inn that they had became boy friend and girl friend, but Jack wasn’t going to tell him that.

Brian only raised his eyebrows slightly at Jack he doubted they were just friends when they were still holding hands but he wouldn't push the guy about it. He did glance at Verina to see her reaction to what Jack had said, "Fine if you want to stick with that."
Verina wasn't sure what to say so she decided to remain quiet. Brian walked down the steps and to Verina, "Come on i at least get a hug goodbye don't i," he said with a soft smile since he really had missed her company.
She let go of Jack's hand as Brian walked toward her, "I guess... though don't think you deserve it at this point," she mumbled as Brian hugged her and lifted her up from the ground slightly. "You know its all in love," Brian said grinning slightly, "And hope he's good to you. You deserve it," he said quietly enough so only she would hear him before setting her back down on her feet.
He then turned to Jack, "Seems i'll be seeing you around," Brian said with a slight smile before heading down the yard and giving them a last wave goodbye before heading up the hill.
Verina snapped out of her thoughts at what Brian had said and the questions he'd made that day as he waved bye to them, "Ready to go in?" she asked Jack as she looked at him one of her hands resting atop Frosty's head who had sat leaning against one of her leps.

Jack was glad that he had decided no to press the issue. It wasn’t that he wouldn’t have told him or wasn’t happy about it. It was just that he didn’t really feel up to being harassed about it just yet and from what he could tell of Brian that is exactly what he would have done. He watched as Brian gave Verina a goodbye hug and just smiled. It didn’t really bother him. He knew that they must be long time friends, so he wasn’t going to get worked up about it. “Seems so.” Jack said smiling at Brian and waving goodbye.
“Ya.” Jack said with a smile, “Lead the way.” He was getting a bit nervous again, but trying to not show it. He was doing a pretty good job of it to, well, so he thought so anyways.

"Okay," she said with a smile as she opened the front door only to have Frosty race past her into the house. Though the only people that lived in the house was her and her dad it was two stories. She really had missed her home though she hadn't spent much time in it before she'd been sent to Hogwarts.
She led Jack past the kitchen and living room and past the staircase to where her dad's study was located, "You ready?" Verina asked with a soft smile as she brushed her hand against his. On the other side would be her dad most likely sitting at his desk poured over paper's from work.

Jack moved to the side so that he wouldn't be trampled by Frosty making his way into the house before them. Entering through the front door he looked around and took in the decorating it was nice. He then followed Verina's lead past the kitchen, living room, and staircase until they came to a stop. He guessed that this must be her father's study and knew he had been right with Verina's next question. "As ready as i'll ever be." Jack said with a grin.

Verina nodded and returned his grin before knocking on the door and then opening it, "Hi dad," she said with a soft smile as her eyes fell on him exactly where she predicted he would be, behind his desk pouring over papers scattered about his desk, looking a little tired.
Josue looked up from his paperwork as he heard his daughter's voice his smile growing into a grin as he stood up and Verina ran over and gave him a tight hug, "I missed you too mija," he said with a smile, "And i see your wearing your hair down," he said as he touched a few of its strands.
"And who's this young man?" he asked as his eyes for the first time noticed that Verina hadn't come home alone this time. Verina left her dad's arms at that moment and walked over to stand next to Jack since she wasn't gonna leave him to face her dad on his own. She couldn't help blushing under her dad's percing gaze.
She'd never done anything like this and she wasn't sure how to go about it, "This is Jack," she said trying to hide her nerves, "Jack this is my dad Josue Alvarez," Verina said giving him a soft smile in an attempt to reassure him. While her own heart was going about a hundred miles an hour in her chest.
Josue noted his daughter's apparant nerves though it might not be obvious to Jack that she was and he had also noted that she'd gone to stand beside him, "Nice to meet you Jack," he said walking over to them and extending his hand to the young man. He could tell that his daughter had more to tell him.

Jack entered into the room after Verina had ran to give her dad a hug. He still wasn’t to sure he should have said they should tell her dad about them going out, but it was too late now to go back on that particular decision. He glanced around the office and then turned his attention back to Verina and her father just in time to hear him wondering about who Jack was. Jack was glad to see that Verina had come back over to his side and that he wouldn’t be answering questions alone. He tried to smile pleasantly as the father looked at the two of them, but he was sure that anyone could tell he was a bit nervous. So nervous in fact that he hadn’t even seem Verina blush or that he wasn’t the only one that was nervous. He did, however, catch the smile that she had given him when she introduced him to her father. “Nice to meet you too.” Jack said with the slightest hint of nervousness and with a small smile. He took Josue hand and shook it.

Now Josue found himself very curious as not only his daughter but this young man named Jack also appeared quite nervous. From the way they were acting and the fact that his daughter had gone to stand by his side he had an idea as to what they well his daughter was trying to tell him.
Verina smiled nervously as she looked at her dad since she knew he was expecting her to say something, "Jack's my boyfriend..." she said as she looked at her dad turning pink once more, "We're going out," she wasn't exactly sure how she'd managed to tell her dad straight out but it seemed she had.
Josue was in utter shock for a moment he had no idea himself how to deal with this news. After all Verina was his only baby girl and the thought that she had a boyfriend was... he didn't even know if there was a word for it. Noting how nervous the two looked he quickly snapped out of his thoughts.
After a moment Josue smiled, "Well nice to meet you Jack," he said with a slight nod focusing his attention on the young man, "My daughter made a right choice in choosing you for her first, right?" Josue asked not trying to scare the young man but his daughter mattered alot to him. Verina couldn't help blushing more as her dad pointed out that Jack was her first boyfriend. She felt like she could die on the spot.

Jack was looking at Verina’s dad when she decided to deliver the news about them going out. It looked like her had been hit over the head with some sort of a blunt object and was momentarily dazed. He was glad to see that her dad had snapped out of it though because he didn’t know how long he could take him just staring at them with a shocked look on his face. Jack smiled as Josue said it was nice to meet him again and was becoming a little less nervous, but it wouldn’t be for long. He didn’t quite know what to say to the next question. He turned a brilliant shade of red and mumbled, “Right.”

"Okay then," Josue said relaxing more he realized he had not only made his daughter turn a few shades of pink but also her... boyfriend Jack turn red. It was young love so he wouldn't pester them any longer or he was afraid they'd die on the spot before his very eyes. He could tell his daughter was probably thinking along those lines.
"Mija why don't you show Jack to a room," he said with a soft smile as he looked at his daughter as he turned to go back to his desk, "Brian left both your things in your room i believe," Josue couldn't help realizing that Brian had convently left out the fact that Verina hadn't come alone, "After we'll have dinner together or you can show Jack around the house." He nodded once to Jack with a pleasant smile before returning to his desk.
"Jack let's go to my room to get your bags," Verina offered with a smile her blush still hadn't fully left her as she turned to him. She was just glad that in the end her dad had taken things as well as he had.

Jack smiled back to Verina’s father when he nodded at him. When Verina suggested they go to her room and get his bags he was all for the idea. Verina’s dad had seemed nice enough, but Jack was just glad for an excuse to be removed from the center of his attention. He had been nervous about meeting her father, and now that all had gone well he just needed a few moments to relax. “Sounds good to me,” he said turning to exit from the room.

Verina only nodded her agreement before opening the door so they could leave. She smiled one last time at her dad before preceding Jack out of the room. She couldn't help letting out a breath she hadn't realized she'd been holding.
Josue froze for a moment as the door closed behind them realizing that his daughter and Jack would be alone in her room. Come on there young... not like they'd do anything. Right? Right! Plus i trust her and Jack seems like a nice young man though slightly nervous, he said to himself as his thoughts raced, Okay don't worry about it. Josue get ahold of yourself. Do we need to have 'the talk'. Damn... i'm not ready for this, he said running one of his hands through his hair. He'd never thought the day his little girl would have a boyfriend would come so soon. He took a deep breath decided to take one thing at a time and quickly immersed himself in his paperwork once more to calm himself.
"That went well," Verina said at an attempt at a smile, "He seemed to like you," she said since it had seemed like her dad had liked him though those last moments in his study and been nerveraking.
"Come on," she said with a slight smile before she led the way up the staircase to the story above. When they'd moved in the house had been furnished with victorian furniture and her dad not having any expertise in that had left it as it was. She led him past her dad's room, a room used as a library, their own owlrey so to speak where they kept their owls, and a guest room.
She stopped as she reached her bedroom at the end of the hall across from another, "You can sleep there," she said with a soft smile indicating the one across from her own, "And this one is my room," Verina said as she opened her bedroom door. Her room looked like a picaso paintings different cultures and countries thrown together.
Verina's bedroom wasn't exactly the typical girl's bedroom. She'd set it up to represent her different heritages. She had elements and decorations from Mexico, Germany, and Korea. Her room consisted of a bed, two dressers, and a desk. In one corner all her sports equipment was located for when she'd been in cross-country, soccer, and Tai Kwon Doe. Her bed was located at the center of the room covered with a lush dark blue comforter which she was currently headed toward.
"This is my room," she said with a smile as she encompassed the whole rooms with her hands before falling backwards onto her bed, "Thank god we're out of there," Verina said slight laughter in her voice.
