Drew hummed softly as she rubbed his shoulders and shen she moved towards he neck, he stretched it out to tget the full effect of her fingers on his skin. It was hard to concentrate on what she was saying when she was touching him like that, but he worked hard to do so, determined to not get caught up in the massage when she was talking to him about something so obviously important.
Of course, he could have asked her to stop, but that really wasn't a very good option in his book.
She mentioned dragon feeding again and while he didn't think it sounded like a very good job, she seemed to be excited over it and he was determined to support her if that's what she really wanted to do. but... if she really wanted to breed dragons, then he'd make sure she got that extra help in her charms and hexes. "We can work on your spells more, " he mumbled, relaxing more under her fingers.
Until she mentioned research and leaving London.
"Romania. That's where they do dragons," he said opening his eyes and looking up ar her. "But they have other animals and things around here, right?" Maybe she was set on dragons though? If that was the case, he'd better figure out how to get to Romania on weekends.

The little movements he was making kept that smile on her face, and her hands working. It seemed pretty obvious, even to her that he was enjoying it. No, it wasn't magic like the snow he'd given her, but if it worked who was she to try and argue differently? Instead, she just continued and let the smile turn into a grin as she watched his facial expressions relax little by little. It was always fun to feel him relax when she had her arms around him after surprising him, but Felicity was getting a kick out of watching him relax, it was that fun.
There was another argument for Felicity about her spell work though. "I don't really have time to do much more practicing though. I've got to study for my other O.W.L.s as I'll be taking them all shortly, and I can't afford to only practice on one area when I've others I need to really practice at. I mean, I'm pretty sure Muggle Studies will be a breeze, and I don't think I'll troubles with Herbology and Potions. But with Care of Magical Creatures, I don't remember all the names of the creatures. I can remember stuff about them, but not their names, but I don't really think I need to worry too much about that class. Then I've got two spell casting exams, Charms and Transfiguration. I think I'll pass Transfiguration pretty well, but I still need to study for it. And Astronomy, I don't think I'll do very well in that class at all, not to mention History."
The Defense test wasn't being given currently because the class hadn't been taught by Ministry ruling, so at least that was one class she didn't have to bother with studying for. Not that she really thought she'd do much of it for that one anyway.
"Yes, that's where there's a really big research thing going on," she answered, having read about it in one of the books. "And I suppose they have other research things taking place in Britain, I hadn't ever really thought of it. But they do have one in Kenya on Erumpents."
Grinning down at Drew she actually had thought about that. But being in Africa was awfully far from home, and she wouldn't have the snow in the winter months. Keeping the snow was really important.

"Kenya?" Drew asked, sitting up and turning around to look at her in disbelief. Sure it was still two years away, but he still didn't like the sound of that.
But it wasn't his decision and he didn't have any right to make a fuss just because she wanted to go work on a totally different continent. So maybe they could meet in Italy on the weekends. That was kind of halfway and pretty romantic, wasn't it? And in a few years, he could see if the African Ministry needed Aurors.
He settled back against her again, feeling a little silly over his outburst. Fortunately not too many other people had heard him. "Sorry. You know whatever you want to do, I'll help you, right?" he asked, looking up and smiling crookedly at her. It was more important that she did what made her happy.

Surprise. That was about the only word that described Felicity's reaction to Drew. She was surprised he'd moved, surprised he'd called out a bit, surprised he was looking at her as though he couldn't believe she was thinking of Kenya; and all Felicity could do was tilt her head to the side slightly and knit her eyebrows a bit. And while she was highly surprised at his reaction, she was also feeling kind of happy that he'd had that kind of reaction. A part of her couldn't help but feel giddy that he'd reacted in such a way, because she knew it meant he kind of didn't like it, the idea of her being so far away.
"You don't need to apologize, love," she told him as he settled back down again. And she was being truthful, it was a nice feeling, to know he didn't want her that far away, even if there was still a lot of time between now and then and so many things could happen. Deciding to run her fingers through his hair instead, she played a little with the curls that were once more starting to come in, slowly still, but they were there. "And yes, I know you'll help me. And thank you."
It helped her an awful lot, and she still didn't feel like she gave her thanks to him enough.
"But I mean, I don't really know yet. I've still got a couple of years to think about things, and I still have to pass O.W.L.s before I can really crack down on thinking of job to pursue in the first place, not to mention passing N.E.W.T.s after that in order to be able to ensure a job somewhere." Pushing his hair back from his face, she smiled down at him. "And there's still lots of jobs to look at. Though, I do like the idea of spending time researching creatures. It would be fun, and imagine if I discovered something, or was with someone who discovered something. That would be really neat."
Shrugging, she wasn't sure. After all, there was a lot of time left, and many things to take into consideration. Her parents and what they thought, though she was sure they'd be against anything like that because she would be too far from home and with creatures, and the snow, and most importantly, where Drew was. But on the other hand, maybe things would be different then, when it was time to decide, though she really hoped not. And she was going to do what made her happy as well, though she was willing to curb it a bit.

"You should talk to Davenport," Drew answered, letting himself relax into her hands again. He had always hated those dang curls, but when Felicity played with his hair like that, he really didn't mind so much.
"She was going on and on in class the other day, saying how important our Creatures grades were and how precious the animals were and how she expected us to all do well when it came time for our tests," Drew told her softly, almost singing his words. "We didn't have the heart to tell her we were the Arithmancy class."

Davenport was a rather nice Professor, a bit mad sometimes, but nice all the same. And being she was the Professor for Care of Magical Creatures, as Felicity couldn't rightly remember what the woman called her class, maybe she was the person to go speak with.
Laughing out loud, she had to quickly cover her mouth as she received a few dirty looks from those at the table she'd accused of casting a spell on her. Shushing herself, light brown eyes turned back down to Drew's face as she wrinkled her nose. Further proof the woman was loopy.
"Isn't she rather absentminded?" the blonde asked, not meaning anything rude by it, but from observations the woman was odd. "I mean, she's really nice and seems to know her stuff, but she's not always acting like every thing is all there, screwed in properly and tight."
After a moment's thought, she started playing with his hair again. "But maybe I should go see her and talk with her about stuff. I mean, I don't think things will be too bad in Transfiguration, and I don't know what Brady really knows about the stuff I'm interested in."

"Oh, she knows her stuff alright," Drew answered with a smile, remembering a particular class when she had described in detail the differences between salt water merpeople and fresh water. Fortunately, it had actually been a Creatures class that time.
"Herbology too. And there will probably be Charms involved," Drew stated, but it wasn't with a whole lot of worry or doubt. "You know I'll help you with that. Davenport can make sure you're on the right track. That's what she lives for."

Felicity rather enjoyed the woman's classes, but she didn't think she was all there most of the time. In fact, she sometimes feared for the creatures now and then just because the woman seemed misplaced so often with things. And it was good to know a Professor knew her stuff, after all, what kind of a Professor would she be if she didn't know what she was doing?
"But I can always talk to Hectis about Herbology," Felicity answered. And she had Drew for Charms, that was important. Especially if she wanted to scrape some sort of O.W.L. for it.
"But what do you think?" she asked him, wanting an honest answer of his opinion about the numerous things she'd listed. "I mean, I like the idea of working as a Dragon Feeder, because I'd likely be able to stay in the area, but I kind of like the idea of working research, too."

"Well, you could do research anywhere, depending on what creature, right?" he answered, looking up into her bright brown eyes and grinning. Maybe it was the Ravenclaw in him, but that really sounded a lot more interesting than being stuck in the Gringotts caverns just feeding dragons all day. Even working in the Ministry offices for Creatures sounded better.
"I don't know, I guess being stuck in those caves all day would make me feel claustrophobic after a while," he finally said. He just didn't want to tell her it sounded like a crummy job to him if that's what she really wanted to do.

"Yes, I suppose that's true," Felicity answered with a nod. "I haven't really heard of any creature research projects in the area, but Davenport could probably let me know about that. But wouldn't it be something if I managed to get into some sort of really large research project? Even if it wasn't in the U.K.? I mean, I don't know about going too far away, but maybe like somewhere in Europe?"
"I don't get claustrophobic though," Felicity answered promptly.
After a slight hesitation, as she still didn't know if he really wanted to stay there after the Auror training. When she'd last asked him a long time back, he'd said it was the best program, but that didn't mean he was staying. "...Or maybe a research thing in America."
It was a careful suggestion, to gage his reaction, see what he might think of her going there. He was seeming to be supportive of sticking it out for her, but she wanted him to know, at that moment, she was willing to stick it out for him too, if it came to that.

America? Most of the good creatures that could be found in America were also found in Europe, so there was logically only one reason he could think of for suggesting a cross of the Atlantic. Was she really saying what he thought she was saying?
"You... you'd really go to America?" he asked, looking up at her with a bit of surprise and yes, awe that she'd consider such a drastic move. "Be that far from your family?" Of course, he was the same distance away from his, but he had his sister and a couple of aunts around London that kind of made up for it.

"Well, I mean, I've never been there," Felicity began. Though, she'd never been to Africa either, or France, or Romania. She'd only been to Ireland on occasion, and not really any other place than Hogwarts and all over the rest of the U.K. "And I wouldn't really be without family. Mum has a cousin, I think, that lives in...in...Indiana, I think that's what mum said."
Technically she wouldn't be away from family, and she was hoping that if that's what happened, she wouldn't be without him either. If she was without him in America, she'd probably hightail it back home without another thought.
"But, if that's what we...I...really wanted, then yes, I'd consider it highly, and if I knew for sure that's what I wanted, I'd go." After all, what Gryffindor didn't want a new adventure?

"Yeah?" he asked, turning again to look at her, this time with a smile. We... She had said it, he had heard it, and it made him ecstatic to know she considered the States to be an option. Of course there was time to consider all of the different options, but it was nice to think she was open to those closer to his home. Once she graduated, they could figure it all out together.
"But that was still a while away and as he was pretty sure the best reseach options were in Europe for her, he knew the best Auror force was there as well.
"If that happens, maybe you can stay with my folks... and I can stay with yours..." he teased a little, leaning back against her again.

Nodding, Felicity knew she would go if that's what it came to. Though, she still had a couple of years to decide if that was even what she wanted to do, let alone move to America any time soon. But it was an option, one she was willing to consider greatly, not just for him, but mostly. And she really should talk to Davenport at some point. If she was getting close to graduation, she should make time in her schedule to see the woman, and if not this year, next fall after term started. It would be a good idea, she could tell Felicity more about stuff and let her know if she thought she'd be able to do well in the area; and what options she'd have.
Grinning at Drew, she rolled her brown eyes before sticking her tongue out at him. "First, I think we'll have to work on getting dad to more than tolerate you first," she answered truthfully. But hopefully, with the camping trip that was planned, that would be a giant and good step toward getting him to like Drew. "And second, I think I should meet your parents first, don't you think?"
It'd been something she thought of before, meeting his parents and it made her nervous, but at the same time she didn't feel right not knowing them. Not that she'd had much of a chance to get to know them yet anyway.

Drew answered back with a small laugh. "If that's your dad tolerating me, I sure don't want to see what him disliking me would be like." Of everyone in the world, Drew thought Ib Hjort was probably the man he feared the most. Robert Shaw had nothing on Felicity's dad. "Maybe Freddy can protect me..." Drew didn't think that was very likely either. Felicity's nephew seemed awfully nervous around Drew.
He took her hand in his and pulled it closer tohim, kissing it lightly. It was nice to hear she wanted to meet his parents. He had thought about it, but the one time he had mentioned it, Mr. Hjort hadn't seemed too pleased about it. "Maybe this summer. They were talking about coming over since Allegra and I probably aren't going home for vacation."
