Jack followed her from the room. He didn’t mind if the dog accompanied them on the walk. He imagined that the dog was pretty happy to have her home and that he would want to spend sometimes with her too, at least, that is how his dog acted every time he came home for a holiday break. His dog wouldn’t leave him alone for five minutes until he got used to him being there.
Sure enough when they had reached the top of the stairs that dog was waiting for them. It was weird how sometimes dogs knew what you were thinking before it was even voiced. “Ya you did.” Jack said heading down the stairs and laughing.

Verina smiled as they reached the bottom of the stairs and ruffled the hair around Frosty's neck and stepped back before he could give her a doggy kiss, "I suppose you can go with me and Jack for a walk," she said laughing slightly as Frosty ran to the front door.
"Guess that's our que," she said still laughing slightly as they made their way to the front door and she opened it only to have Frosty almost knock her off her feet as he ran past her, "Now all i need is to fall again," Verina said with a smile as she caught herself and stepped outside.

“I don’t think he was going to give us a choice.” Jack said with a laugh as Frosty made for the front door. He had just come down the stairs and was glad that he hadn’t been in front of the pup when it went for the door.
“I think so.” he continued as he made his way towards the front door. Just in time to see Frosty try and take out Verina. He smiled as she caught herself and said, “You and me both.” Hopefully there wouldn’t be any black ice or ice period for that matter on their walk.

"I know," Verina said with a slight grimace recalling what she'd done to Jack on their way to her house. She smiled slightly as she walked down the front steps to the yard and looked around. The sun had allready began to drift down toward the horizon leaving a soft glow on the land, "You should see this place at night. The stars look really close," she said with a smile as she looked over at him.
"So... where'd you like to go!" she said with a grin as she watched Frosty roll around in the snow, "Or would you just like to wander," Verina said facing him.

“That would be nice to see.” Jack said thinking that he would love to see the stars, “I’ll have to make sure I see them before we go.” He thought that he might just get to see the stars after dinner if they walked to the tavern because it was already starting to get dark.
”Wandering is fine.” he said watching the dog enjoying the snow.

"Mmm... yes you have to see them," Verina replied with a smile as she looked up at the sky, "If we don't tonight i'll make sure i do. When we first moved her i found a way up to our roof top," she said with a grin. It was just a good thing her dad wasn't aware of that little fact or he might have worried for her safety but what he didn't know couldn't hurt him especially if it was something minor.
"Then come on silly," she said with a smile and a tug at his sleeve. There was always plenty to see in the countryside since it always seemed to change with each season bringing new things to explore, "To tell you the truth i haven't really spent a winter here i came when it was allready starting to warm." So in alot of ways it was her first time seeing Brecon in the winter.

“I bet the view from up there is great.” Jack said with a smile. Thinking of how the stars must look from such a height. He had always liked looking up at the stars and making patterns out of them ever since he was a little boy.
“Coming. Coming.” he laughed as she tugged on his sleeve. He was looking forward to seeing more of the country side. What he had seen on his way in from the tavern was just the surface of it he thought and it would be great to just wonder around in the snow. “Then it will be a new adventure for you too.” Jack said grinning.

"It is," she could tell that Jack really liked that idea and mentally decided that she'd take him up there before they left, "I'll have to show you sometime."
"Yes... in more than one way," Verina hadn't noticed she'd said that aloud until after she'd said it causing her to turn slightly pink and she rubbed her cheeks to hide it from Jack. She just hoped that he hadn't noticed and figured it was because of the cold. A thought soundly came to her as they walked, "I know exactly where i want to take you... there's this one place..." Verina decided not to tell him any more and leave him in suspense, "Come on."

Jack thought nothing of the statement and was too engrossed with watching Frosty rolling about in the snow to notice that Verina had gone slightly pink. When he glanced back over at her she had her hands on her face so he just assumed she was cold. It was a bit chilly out here and he was glad that he had decided to put on a jacket and a sweatshirt, but wondered if Verina was cold. “Warm enough?” he inquired.
At the sudden inspiration that Verina had about where to show him he smiled. He was curious as to where she was planning on taking him but decided to leave it as a surprise. Thinking that there must have been a reason she didn’t complete her sentence and that even if she told him where they were going he still wouldn’t have a clue. Jack followed her as they made there way across the snow.

"Huh?" Verina said caught by surprise when Jack spoke to her. She figured he was asking because of what she was currently doing and was thankful he hadn't realized the true reason for her actions. She withdrew her hands from her face, "I'm okay," she said with a small smile.
As they reached a slightly steep hill she began to slowly make her way down, "Watch your step... i've never done this at the brink of winter..." Verina said as she concentrated on the steps she made going down once she reached the bottom she dusted off her clothes slightly. Now where they currently were their were alot of trees grouped together here and there, "The place we're going is in there," she said with a grin. Though many tourists had seen the wonders of Wales she doubted they had seen one from the particular vantage point she was taking Jack now. In alot of ways it had become her own place when she had too much on her mind.

“Ok.” Jack said concentrating on watching where he was going so he didn’t go sliding down the hill on his back side. He walked slowly down the hill thinking all the while that he was surely going to lose his footing and come sliding down. Once he reached the bottom of the hill he looked around and immediately noticed that sheer amount of trees around. “After you,” he said gesturing and smiling. He would follow her since he would lead but he had absolutely no idea where they were going.

Verina just hoped that she wouldn't loose Jack through the maze of trees he knew her way but he didn't. She knew her way almost by heart as they made their way through the grouped trees, "Its not too far you just need to know your way or you'll get lost," she said with a smile every so often making sure that Jack was still with her and hadn't taken a wrong turn.
Up ahead of them ran Frosty weaving his way through the trees. Once she'd thought they'd reached the place she slowed down and was thankful to still hear the rushing sound of water. Winter still hadn't set in and was thankful for that since she doubted the place would be as breathtaking.
She went back to Jack and stood in front of him facing him, "No peeking okay. You have to close your eyes or i'm not showing you," Verina said a grin still upon her lips.

Jack followed close on Verina's trail. The last thing he wanted to do was get lost in an unfamilar place. "I won't get lost," Jack said smiling slightly at Verina when she glanced over to him. Making his way behind her he slowed down just as she had done and listened carefully wondering if there was a creek near by. Coming to a halt when she faced him he smile and replied, "Ok, I won't peek. Just don't go running me into a tree or anything like that."

Verina couldn't help laughing slightly, "I promise i wont run you into a tree," she said making her voice solemn as she made the vow though a grin was firmly in place. Once Jack had closed his eyes she took his hand to lead him, "You can trust me," she said before she began to lead him forward. She moved a few branches out of both their ways so he wouldn't get the backlash of the branches.
She smiled as she took in the view they stood upon band of outcropping limestone rock that produced a distinctive landscape of waterfalls among other things further up. But Verina had taken him to the spot where the river tumbled down a staircase of magnificent waterfalls. It was one of the main attractions in Wales but she'd taken him to a spot slightly above where you could look down and across at a few. Most didn't know about this particular spot since the more well-known spot was more out in the open with the larger waterfalls and this one was somewhat hidden and even if you found it once it was unlikely you'd come across it a second time and Verina hoped to keep it that way.
"Okay open your eyes," Verina said as she rocked slightly back and forth as she held his hand and looked at him to catch his expression once he saw where she'd taken him.

“Alright,” Jack said with a laugh after Verina reassured him that she could be trusted. Walking with Verina’s lead Jack could hear the sounds of rushing water. Wondering what Verina could possible be showing him he waited until she said open your eyes. Once they were to the spot he opened them and was pleasantly surprised to see that she had taken him to the ledge where the middle of the waterfall was. “Whoa,” he said smiling, “This is quite the place.”
Taking in the whole thing he looked around for a moment before continuing, “How did you find it?” he asked smiling at her.
