About a week after school was let out. Before FoY, and it's getting late.
A topic of conversation. That’s all it had been to Celina. A conversation of much importance and she had to know about it from her brother’s point of view, but as soon as she mentioned his name, Alfonz had glared at her. He had asked her many questions about how close to Professor Brady she had actually gotten and how she had found out about the incident. He was more upset than Celina had ever seen him, and before she knew it, they were walking down the cold blustering street toward the Leaky Cauldron.
“Alfonz….” Celina softly said as she looked around, making sure no one heard her speech except for her older brother. “I’m sorry….I didn’t mean…” she stopped abruptly.
The Jedynaks found their way to the tavern and following her brother’s lead she went inside. If asked, Celina would never say that her brother had a drinking problem. And to an extent didn’t, however, since the incident at Diagon Alley he had found his way to the Cauldron more than usual. Celina didn’t know about it. She wasn’t supposed to. And as she made her way to a booth in the back her dark blue robes swished around her feet, hood up.
Quickly, and quietly she sat down, and waited for her brother to return.

Alfonz was not pleased. The information Celina had presented him with that evening was disturbing at most. She had met up with Devon Brady, and he had spoken with her. School newspaper or not, Alfonz found himself steaming at the fact that now he knew exactly where Celina was. Was it unexpected? No. After he had read the prophet and the article that had announced his presence at the same school his sister actually attended, he had almost gone to the ministry himself. Anyone who would say such things about a child, only to be hired by the exact place of education where that girl went…it was certainly asking for trouble.
Alfonz would hope that it caused Brady more trouble, however, than it did Celina. As they walked through the streets, both Jedynaks were dressed in dark robes to conceal their identities. Hoods up, and nothing but pale skin from their hands showing, they did look quite suspicious, but with Celina being under-aged and Alfonz being a celebrity of sorts, it was these times where he really wished that the call of a firewhiskey didn’t scream from the back of his throat. He needed the burn to get his mind off of the new turn of events, which he himself had not counted on. Celina had only been home a few days, and where he didn’t expect her to keep much from him, the Brady questioning was not something he had been expecting.
Recently, it had been that way though. Alfonz figured that that was entirely the way he’d have to live from now on. Expecting the unexpected. The only thing that had happened as of recent that he had expected was the questioning from the aurors about the jewelry he had given Celina that she in return gave to the Thornton boy to wear. He was alright, and Aflonz figured as of much since he still stood where he did, but Celina had been quite shook up. He didn’t tell her anything about the pin other than he didn’t know, and how sorry he had been. It hadn’t been genuine of course, but he’d do anything to protect her. Only now, he had to be more careful with the tactics he’d use. Thornton wasn’t supposed to have people who would catch him. Who knew the boy was so popular or that well-liked? Alfonz would have to plan more accordingly the next time.
Alfonz….I’m sorry….I didn’t mean…
Alfonz turned around and put his hand up in front of Celina’s face stopping her speech. All he needed was for someone to hear her outside of the pub that they were so close to. She ruined his thoughts and as the neared the doorway, he pushed opened the door and gestured to her to go to a specific booth in the back of the tavern. A usual place for him, and with her robes up over her head it was unlikely that she would be in any harm for the few minutes that he would leave her alone.
Walking up to the bar he asked for his usual, and a butterbeer very silently. A look of suspicion given by onlookers, he took the drinks back to the booth with him, returning to his sister’s side. What time was it? It didn’t matter to Alfonz. It was unlikely that there were any reporters around, and if any aurors dared near him in question of the age of his sister, he’d tell them the truth of how she was his concern and his concern alone. It wasn’t as if he was getting her drunk, or anything of the sort. He was not about to leave her anywhere by herself, including the apartment. No, she would remain by her side where she could be watched.
Placing his hand on his sister’s, he noticed her slight shake and tightened his grasp slightly. “Fear not, I am not angry.” It was simple and with that he took a sip from his Firewhiskey, not letting go of her hand.

As Alfonz returned, Celina felt a quiver come over her. Cold shiver? No, it was more than that. She hadn’t ever seen her brother so upset before in all of her life. And at her? It was almost unheard of. Whoever or whatever Brady was to Alfonz it wasn’t good. And all she could do was look at the drink in front of her, afraid to even take a sip of it.
Her brother’s hand, however, was as it had been so many times before been a comfort. She could tell that the walk to the tavern had calmed him a bit, and whatever he had thought about on their journey had rested his active spirits.
“I’m sorry…I just wanted to know if it were true…” Celina trailed off, looking at her brother through her hood. She went to take her hood down, stopping right before she did so, as if to ask her brother if it were safe to do so.

Putting the glass down, Alfonz sighed and his eyes filled with worries looked directly into his sister's. "It is. But it's none of your concern, and nothing for you to worry about." She was worried and he could tell. It must have distressed her something awful when she had found out, and Alfonz could do nothing to calm her worried spirits. "I'm fine, aren't I?" He tried to smile, but yet again the glass in front of him called out to him. He had never been one to get lost behind a drink, but his problems were beginning to grow and he could see them all to clearly. In his mind, Celina was in dire trouble and in dire need. But how to protect her?
Soon, Alfonz knew she'd be going back to that school, with those unqualified and dangerous professors. He could almost not stand it. Not to mention, those friends of hers that would eventually get her killed in one way or another; he was sure about that and she hadn't even told him many stories of them.
As she went to take off her hood, he looked around, not recognizing anyone and nodded. "Back into the corner of the booth some, however. Just in case." He let go of her hand to let her arrange herself. All he needed was someone spotting one or the other Jedynak. Espeically, now.

"It's getting late," Allegra had scolded And Drew had countered that she wasn't his mother and he was 17 now, old enough to stay out past any curfew. Allegra had fussed back of course, commenting on the hour, yet still managed to think that it wasn't too late for her to duck into Madame Malkin's one more time, desperate to find a new outfit to impress some guy she had met.
Drew had chosen to go on ahead to the Leaky Cauldron, grab something to eat, and relish in the knowledge that he had found the perfect Christmas present for Felicity. The treasure was already wrapped in a box and tucked in a bag among his other purchases and while he was tempted to take it out and admire it (and his own cleverness), he resisted and kept it where it was.
"Butter beer and a ham sandwich... two actually. My sister is on her way," Drew told the waiter as he sat down at a table that wasn't too sticky. While he waited for the order to come he looked around, glancing at faces, not really expecting to see anyone he recognized. It wasn't until his gaze crossed a booth in back that he actually thought he saw someone he knew and he tilted his head a little, trying to catch the girl's eye.

Celina pushed down her hood, her dark chocolate eyes scanning the environment she was now in. It wasn't that she hadn't been to the Leaky Cualdron before, but everytime she was she felt a bit uneasy. Curfew was closing in, and even thought she was with her brother, she just didn't want anyone to bother with them or cause them any distress. Especially, if it was over her and her age. She knew Alfonz wouldn't stand for it, and frankly it'd be a bit of a scene if anyone dared near.
A glance was all it was. Her eyes caught another's, but only for a moment. She went to double take back when she saw her brother's eyes just as stormy as they were when she had mentioned Brady's name to him. Was he angry at her again? Then she realized, that she had not complied with a request of his. She hadn't moved into a corner to where no one would be able to see her. She moved in slightly, looking down and taking her glass. She took a sip, still wondering if she really had seen someone that she knew.

"Celina, I told you to move in before you took your hood down," Alfonz growled slightly as he softly spoke. He wasn't mad, it was just he thought she was never to bright when it came to certain aspects of safety. "What if someone had seen you? Don't you understand how much I try to....." Alfonz trailed off looking in the direction where Celina's eyes seemed to keep darting. "Know someone?" He asked as he sat back and tried to look collected, calm even.

It was definitely Celina and Drew bounded from his seat, leaving his packages on his chair to hold his table. The place was small enough that if anyone went off with is stuff, he'd know.
"Hey! What are you doing here?' he asked amiably as he reached the table Celina and her brother were sitting at. he was obviously her brother too. Even if Drew hadn't seen the guy's picture in the paper, he would have recognized them as being related. They just had that look he supposed he shared with his own sister.

Celina didn't even have time to answer him as a tall blond haired boy came over to the table as if he were invited. A scowl crossed Alfonz's face immediately as he said and did nothing. He just looked the boy over wondering in what right mind this boy found the right to come over to their table, and talk to his sister. He picked up his glass and drank from his drink. Still saying nothing he narrowed his glare at his sister. "Aren't you going to introduce us, Celina?" his voice low, and to anyone near would have sounded threatening.

Coming out of, what seemed like air, Drew Thornton stood directly at the table where her and Alfonz sat. Her mouth dropped slightly and she looked back at her brother and then back at Drew. It wasn't until Aflonz finally spoke where Celina yet again found her voice. Or something that she wished was her voice.
"Oh....well....this....I mean he's....." how was she supposed to introduce to her brother the boy he had told her to stay far away from. Trouble? A bit, but all she could do was comply with Alfonz's wish to be introduced. "Drew, this is my brother Alfonz. Alfonz...." she trailed off a bit and tried to smile. Drew was her friend, after all. Nothing to be ashamed of. "This is Drew Thornton." She gulped, so badly wanting to close her eyes and return her hood to where it had left.

Drew grinned back, pleased that he had been right about who the guy was. He stuck out his hand and introduced himself just as Celina was doing it for him. "Drew Thornton. Nice to meet you," he stated. "I'm a housemate of Celina's. I've heard a lot about you actually, both from your sister and mine... Allegra? She lives with Shay Loire." From what Drew had heard, Allegra's roommate was kind of dating Alfonz.

As the blond stuck out his hand, Alfonz let the name linger in the air for a moment before taking his hand. "As have I in return, heard of you, Mr. Thornton." Alfonz's dark, stormy eyes glanced at Celina and back to the boy. The boy continued to ramble and soon was speaking of Shay. Alfonz's heart stopped a bit, hoping the name had gone through one of Celina's ears and out the other. He was surely mistaken, however, by the look of bewilderment on her face.
"Ah, Allegra. Yes, I've met her." It was only a wonder of what Shay had said to Allegra that Drew had also heard. Did his information really get around that much? He was only glad that that wasn't one of the multiple things that had gotten in the paper about him. However, he felt that soon Celina would be asking for an explaination. Just great.

Shay Loire? Who was that? Celina was positive that she knew Drew's sister. Even after her graduation she was around the school working and such, not to mention she had been the quidditch captain. No missing that, especially with how much Celina watched the Ravenclaw games. However, them talking about Alfonz? For what reason? "Your sister lives in the apartments too?" Celina asked with a growing smile on her lips. That was wonderful news. Maybe she could hang out with someone when Alfonz was out on business or something. But then the other name still floated around with her.
"Who is Allegra living with?" she asked a small laugh escaping her lips. "And why would they talk about Alfonz?" A glare was thrown her way and Celina stopped laughing immediately. What was Alfonz hiding?

There actually hadn't been much of discussion between Drew and his sister about Alfonz and Shay. It had been more along the lines of a comment in passing, more of an interesting tidbit of information.
But Drew had caught Celina's tease. Did she not know about Shay? "Just someone who said she knew your brother?" Drew tried, looking at Alfonz and hoping he wasn't giveing any major secrets away by stating it like that.

"We'll discuss the people we have come into contact in full detail later...Celina," Alfonz's glare narrowed almost as if he was searching her for a hint of any secrets that she had been keeping from him as well. "I'm sure you've met many people these last couple of months. Like, Mr. Thornton here for example." That would shut her up for now. Alfonz was sure of it. He wasn't one for doing anything rash, or turning a discussion into all about him or who he was finding himself seeing more an more. It was true that he had asked Shay to meet Celina, but now was not the time to discuss who Shay was to him. Frankly, he still had yet to figure that out for himself. Sure, they had become more physical with one another, and their relationship had progressed, but that didn't mean anything sincere....not yet. Not until Alfonz was ready for Celina to meet her.
Maybe then. Then again, maybe not. It was up to time he supposed.
As for the Thornton boy, he still stood at the end of their table just as annoyingly as ever. If Alfonz didn't know any better, the boy was barely of age, but according to the clock on the wall that now struck past curfew he figured that maybe he was of age. "Are you of age boy, or should you be running along?" Alfonz asked him, as polite as he could, taking another sip and finishing off his first glass of whiskey. He put his hand in the air, and without a word the floor waiter brought him what he normally had. "Wouldn't want you to get in trouble now, would we?"
