Did he think he scared her? Celina's face went from being worried to crossing in one of disbelief. If anything this was a Jedynak problem, not a Thornton and if anyone had the right to be at her brother's side it was someone he could at least tolerate to be around. "Excuse me?" she said as she grabbed his arm. "I'm not just going to stay here while you and my brother get into trouble. I'm coming with..." Celina wasn't foolish to forget where her family ties lied, and though Alfonz feared they would stray, his influence over her was still much greater than any that could be formed by simple friendships that Celina had just made. Of course, Celina didn't see it as such. She just saw it as a problem that needed her attention, and she wasn't about to let Drew stop her from at least being somewhere where she could see her brother.
She quickly was then in front of him. Celina was determined...and nothing Drew Thornton was going to say would stop her. Especially as she could hear a few people's squeals about how the man that was laying in the snow was getting up, behind her unknowing brother.

"Celina, sit down!" Drew told her again, raising his voice to a threatening growl as he stepped in front of her again. It wasn't very often he got agressive, especially against girls, but this was a serious situation and Drew wasn't about to let Celina get in the middle of something dangerous. "Your brother said to stay here and you're staying here." She'd have to curse Drew to get him to let her out.

Cursing Drew wouldn't have been half bad if she was just a couple years older, and actually carried her wand on her away from school. Drew was becoming more of a pain and Celina coldly starred into his blue eyes and wanted to poke them out. "Get outta my way, Thornton. I know what Alfonz said, and I know what's better for him." Alfonz may have been her guardian but that didn't mean he always knew what was best for himself. Always worried about her. Did Drew even see Alfonz's empty apartment? No. That there was a clear sign that Alfonz couldn't even take care of himself, even with all the money that he made from playing quidditch.
Looking around for something, anything to get the taller boy out of her way she did the only thing she could think of doing...she elbowed him in the stomach and yet again tried to run past. She'd apologize later, but for right now, she had to at least peer outside a bit to see what was going on.

It was a wonder Alfonz heard anything at all. Looking through the window of the tavern as he neared, he saw Celina and Drew sharing words and rolled his eyes. It wasn't much like his sister just to wait around for him to finish what he was doing. Always thinking of him instead of herself like she should have been. Alfonz shook his head about ready to enter when he heard the breaking of ice behind him.
Roger was stealty, but not today. His big boots, and unsteady line of fire was enough to make anyone duck in cover from anything that could come out of the wand. However, for the time being it looked as if the older Jedynak was distracted by something. A devious smile curled on the drunk man's lips as he lifted his wand into the best dueling position he could manage. The ice broke from beneath him, and he fell to one knee.
Alfonz heard the man fall, and quickly turned around just in time to barely miss an unintentional curse heading his way. Alfonz went to jump out of the way just as it zoomed by him. It grazed his wand arm, making it go limp and unusable. A scrape it seemed on the arm trickeled a bit of blood, nothing to have any concern over. The real concern Alfonz now had was the fact that whatever the stunner curse had been, it now made him at a great disadvantage. So, much for doing as Celina asks and letting those go that do you wrong. Damnit! Filthy, mud-blood! Alfonz said to himself as he got himself up from out of the snow. By then the tavern doors had opened. Someone was coming outside, and Roger was trying to get steady on his feet again.

Not expecting the sharp elbow to his stomach, Drew crumbled to the floor, barely aware that Celina had gone outside despite her brother's instructions. No, he really hadn't expected her to do as he had said, but he had expected her to listen to Alfonz.
At least she had had the decency not to aim lower...

Celina had not made it outside before being stopped by the growing crowd that wanted to watch the action. Alfonz Jedynak was on the ground, getting beaten by a drunkard that he was about to let go. Celina could hear howls of how stupid the quidditch player was, and how they couldn't believe that he'd take anything from the drunk who had ruined all of their nights. Through all of their criticisms and loud hoots, Celina's slight pleas of 'excuse me' were no use to let her through.
"Please...let me through..." she said as loud as she could, only barely making it to the tavern doors in time to see people start piling out them.

A person pushing open the door nervously looked at Roger as he made his last attempts to hex Alfonz, and then back to Alfonz who sat on the ground still holding his arm. Alfonz scowled, not wanting the publicity that was sure to come from this, not to mention what would happen to his sister from his such publicity. It was highly annoying, and Alfonz looked to the person. "Get back!" he yelled. Roger looked, distracted by the other person and Alfonz's command. That was his chance.
Alfonz quickly got up from his sitting position and ran head first knocking Roger to the ground. As Roger lay in the snow stunned and unaware with drunkenness of what had just happened, Alfonz stood over top of him and pulled out his wand with his other hand, ready to teach Bauber a lesson in knowing when to quit.
"You know...I'm not much for letting people just come on to my sister and then walk away. If anyone knows this, it's you, Bauber. But for some reason....lately, older men just can't seem to step off....always pressing buttons they shouldn't." Alfonz bent down slightly, wand a bit more under Roger's throat. "Are you sure...you're feeling that lucky?" he whispered, his voice harsh and calm all at the same time.
The crowd of spectators by this time, however, had grown to an unwelcoming amount. Just like in Diagon Alley, just a month before.

Allegra was perfectly happy, staying inside, even when Celina slid out of the booth and ran after her brother. Allegra's own brother was on the ground, obviously not expecting the jab the Ravenclaw girl had given him and soon Allegra was on her knees next to him.
"You okay?" she asked, softly, looking up to see what was happening outside. "I'm sorry, you were right. We should have just gone on home."

"Fine," Drew growled, more angry over being caught off guard than by getting punched like that. Of course, if he had been on his guard, it wouldn't have happened, but that was neither here nor there.
He pulled himself up and made his way to the door, determined to make sure Alfonz was taking care of the drunken idiot so that they could finsihe their dinner in peace.

Celina made it to the door just in time to see Alfonz bending over the man. She looked behind her, watching as Drew started to get up from the floor. A twinge of guilt in her gut formed as she knew how mad he must be at her now, but he just didn't understand. Turning back and running over to Alfonz she held tight to him, not even realizing that he wasn't using his wand arm to hold the wand.
"Please....let's just go home.....I....I'm.....I'm sorry...." tears flowed down her cheeks from her eyes. She should have never told Alfonz about Brady or their encounter.

Alfonz growled a bit in the back of his throat as his storming eyes gave a deathly glare at whomever had a hold of him. When he finally realized it was his sister, in tears no less, he didn't know whether to be outraged or just plain compliant with her pleading requests. Getting up, he wrapped his useable arm around Celina moving her and himself away from the stumbling idiot on the ground. Her crying was enough to make anyone who had just come out look at him as if he were more than just an angry one, but that of an uncaring brother as well. He moved her and himself back into the shadows of a nearby building and watched as Roger got to his feet.
"You'll be sorry, Jedynak.....I've see it ya know......what that woman said.......you can't last forever......." he stumbled away, laughing at his drunken self.
Alfonz scoffed as Celina still cried in his arms. "Knock it off....do you want to bring anymore attention to us, child?" he cupped her face in his hand and made her look him directly in the eye. "Celina," he gruffly whispered. "What are you doing out here? I told you.....I told Thornton for that matter to watch over you? Do you understand.....no of course you don't." Celina sniffled and tried to surpress the sobs still kept up inside of her.
"You just don't understand the severity of the people you hang around...the contacts you supposedly make....what use are any of your friends? Have you considered this?" Celina shook her head, tears still streaming down her face. "I didn't think so...."
Finally, another presense was leaving the tavern. Who it was Alfonz didn't care as he still held Celina's head in his hand. He bent over and kissed her gently on the forehead and then leaned his against hers. Whispering to her, he said softly, "I will always be there when you need protecting...but you are going to have to be ready to let me do what I need to do in order to properly do so." All Celina could do, was nod her head in understanding.

Drew pushed his way through the crowd that had formed just in time to see Bauber stagger off in one direction, while Alfonz led Celina in the other. If they hadn't been on a London street, Drew would have been more than happy to hex the drunk to help him along, but the farther bauber got, the more of a chance there was for Muggles to see. The Ravenclaw was mostly glad to see the man go and that both Jedynaks were safe.

Through the shadows, Alfonz could hear the tavern door creak again as it was opened. The crowd pushed themselves back in as Alfonz took a quick glance to see, now, who had come out. Drew Thornton stood there, looking relieved? Alfonz turned back to Celina and still glared at her coolly. "Are you understanding?" he asked her as she once again nodded at him. He took her into his not wounded arm and embraced her lovingly. "Whenever you least expect me, I'll be there to help you. Now...say goodnight to the Thorntons, I'll wait out here for you." Alfonz rubbed his limp arm and watched as she walked away from him slowly, making her way back toward the tavern...and the Thorntons.

Celina nodded, a tear still in her eyes. It had freaked her out seeing him over another man with his wand out. Alfonz wasn't usually so quick to jump to dueling. Maybe Brady had had more of an effect on him than she had thought. That scared her as well. Brady was intelligent and she was still convinced that he had planned to attack someone that day to release his pent up "fear" as he was calling it. Secretly, Celina found herself wishing that it wasn't her brother, however, that he had found to do so with. Brady had played Alfonz, and Celina could see a definite difference in the way her brother acted. Like if he didn't protect her after every little thing, he'd lose her or something. It wasn't normal.
Celina walked slowly up to Drew, her head hanging low. "I....I'm....I'm sorry," she sniffled a bit trying to control the confused emotions she was feeling. "I just don't know what's wrong with him.....he's.....it's......not usually this.....this way."

Drew had already turned back into the pub once he saw the fight was over. Hanging out with Celina and her brother hadn't been the best idea and Drew just wanted to get himself and his sister out of there. "We're going home," Drew told Allegra nodding to the back entrance and away from the crowd by the door to the street. They could Apparate easily enough from the Alley.
Celina walked up to him and he turned to look at her as she spoke. "Yeah, tell him it was a pleasurable evening. We should do this again," he said, rolling his eyes. Of course he didn't want Celina to think he blamed her or was mad at her for what had happened. "I'll see you around, okay? maybe you can stop by my sister's place and we can hang out or something." That should be safe enough, right?
